I thought I walked into the 80's when I walked into the Ivory Club. The dance floor lights up in all different colors and patterns as people dance the night away. As the night progressed, the floor made me feel like I was in an old school music video and I wondered when the bell bottoms and silk button up shirts were gonna show up.

I particularly liked the dueling pianos here. The piano players are pretty talented and can play any song you request it seems. At one point they were playing 2pac's California Love and not only did they play it, they rapped it. The energy was amazing and you can't help but move to the music.

I wouldn't want to go here every weekend but it is a good place to check out every now and then when you want to have an experience other than the usual club scene.

The food was okay, nothing spectacular. It seemed to me that they were trying WAY too hard to make haute cuisine. The drinks were fabulous but really freakishly expensive. The best part was the duelling pianos. They were fun and did some great songs. I found the dance floor too small though.

Overall, not really worth doing more than once.

The Ivory Club and Ebony Grille has opened in a new location downtown. They are now occupying a building across from a lot of new condo developments and what used to be the boisterous Side Track Cafe. Their new home includes a restaurant area as well as a bar area with their two dueling pianos in the middle of a floor that lights up in various different patterns. There are four floor booths and a few tables and seats on higher levels up from the main floor. The floor booths can only be gotten through a reservation with bottle service which will run you about 60$ per person, be sure to book in advance if you are into this!

The food here is alright. Its a slight step above pub food and their nachos are probably the best bang for your buck. The dueling pianos go for 5 hours on Friday and Saturday nights and the energy of the various performers is amazing! My favorite request for them is Flo-rider songs as this is truly amazing to see on piano! They are also starting to feature other acts throughout the week.

Saturday nights seems to be their busy night so go at a decent time if you want to get a good seat for the show!

I had a fantastic night here last time I visited Edmonton. I am not sure a club like this would work in Vancouver, but I would like to see it try! The bar staff were incredibly friendly and especially so for a nightclub. And being in Edmonton, so were the people. Everyone was having so much fun tipping the piano players for song requests and dancing it up on the dance floor.
