Incredible coffee shop. Need I say more?
No, but I'm going to. I was thrown off immediately by how reasonably priced everything is. A chocolate croissant and large cup of coffee for under $5? And it all tastes good? Whaaat? All of the employees were super nice. Music selection is trendy but not overbearing. Plenty of space to spread out your stuff and work, especially upstairs (where they have a piano....awesome). Yeah, they have an upstairs.
Great place to work, chill, or just drink coffee. Or all three. -

I walked in looked at the menu and behold:
A delicious cappuccino for under $3.
A turkey melt for under $6?
Free wifi, a piano upstairs for anyone to play.
What makes it Irish must be the hospitality.
It doesnt have that frapanimation look but its sure got that taste. -

Okay I can only base this review on drinks and customer service.
Yelp! had told me that this place was open until 10, but they decided to close early the night I went to try it with my sis after our trip from NorCal back to SoCal. I ordered a blueberry shake and my sis ordered a coffee, both were decent although I kept being bothered by the residue bits since the employee blended it up right in front of me. At least this way I knew it was the real deal.
Although I am bummed that they make up their own times and aren't open the hours that Yelp! says they are, the employees are pretty nice and the place looks pretty cute. If I ever feel up to it, I'd try this place again and write a new review. -

Irish Coffee is right next to my work so I usually get their lunch specials. The meatball sandwich with salad is great. They make it right in front of you too. Not your typical sandwich you'd get from a subway. There is actually flavor in every bite. I also get the turkey pesto sandwich which is my second favorite sandwich. Hands down, good times at the coffee house!

My good friends live around the corner so I frequent this coffee house a few times a month, usually out of necessity. Everyone needs coffee and fast.
The first time I came, the credit card machine wasn't working which made for an awkward experience when I only had a card to pay. Rather than offering me my coffee and bagel for free, the space-case cashier opted to keep me there while she got her manager on the phone. She insisted he was on his way and would be arrive any minute. This was only after I was told they only had Vanilla Nut flavored coffee brewed, which wasn't what I felt like having. It was also incredibly WEAK. Also the whole time it was a summer's day, there was no air conditioner on, and I was sweating.
On my most recent visit the coffee was strong and good, so we can resolve that inconsistency is a coffee house's coffee problem.
I've ordered bagel sandwiches a few times, and though I am always pleasantly surprised by their enormous size, there's just something this place is missing. It's not any one BAD thing, just some oddities when it comes to their preparation of food.
First of all, when they make your bagel sandwich, they put all the ingredients on it and then press it on a panini grill. I think I know what the people want. They want their bagel toasted and then the cream cheese to be added after. That's just how you make bagels.
Second, whenever I request veggies, they're always chopped in a way that makes the eating process unenjoyable. My first sandwhich had thick cut slabs of red onion, and that onion sandwich burned. The tomatoes were fat-cut too, it was a terrible textural experience and I couldn't fit my mouth around the sandwich or keep it from falling apart into a rustic bagel veggie salad. The second time I got a sandwich, the onions and tomatoes were DICED and falling out all over the place. I think I know what the people want. Some thinly sliced veggies, sandwich style, perfect for eating and tasting.
I also wish there was Irish Coffee. -

Great coffee and an awesome selection of baked goods and well priced sandwiches.
The best part is that the staff is very friendly and EVERY 5TH DRINK IS FREE!
So, if you live/work in the area and like coffee, or sandwiches, wraps, bagels, or basically food in general I would say definitely come check this place out.
Also, there's free wifi and an upstairs area...what up Starbucks? No upstairs area for you!
Anyway, they just got a new sign today(12/15/11) which gives it a bunch of curb appeal and will probably start gettin a bunch of new folks in there. Be an early adopter.
1 Dollar refills on regular and iced coffee too...boom...save your cup. -

Great spot to walk to. I moved into the neighborhood and this place is a great nook for coffee, smoothies, sandwiches and a quiet relaxed environment to get some writing/ reading done. And there's a medicinal marijuana place next door so if you're luck you'll get a contact high as you pass it.

This place is as good as or better than any other coffee place i've been to.
The key things here are.
1. Not a chain. No Starbucks freaks
2. Free Wifi, no bouncing off every two hours or any bullshit like that.
3. Club cards!!!!!! Every 5th coffee is free. can you imaging getting a free coffee every 5th drink at a chain. HA! that'll be the day.
4. Quiet
Awesome!!!! -

This is one of the best coffee shops i've been to and i'm lucky to have it so close to where I work. This place is a daily stop for me...their coffee is fantastic and you get your 5th coffee free if you keep up on your "frequent buyer card". The sandwiches are also the best bang for the buck in the city. Love this place and their employees.

The hours posted are wrong, this place opens at 8:30 am.
My experience started off on the wrong foot, because the hours above are mislisted.
I primarily went because of the wifi and the high reviews.
The coffee is reasonably priced and the breakfast sandwiches are pretty good too, but DON'T go here if you actually want to work and don't like power-pop.
The music thing, I get it, low mellow music in the morning at a cafe is expected. That was what was playing when I walked in, but in the middle of Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes" the dudes that work at the cafe switched to some kind of aggressively bouncy trite power pop and turned it up.
I moved upstairs, because I could not focus, but everywhere I sat there was a speaker overhead. So I asked the barrista if she had the ability to turn it down a little bit upstairs, since the only other person up there had HUGE headphones on.
She said she would get to it, but the manager was upstairs and could I ask him.
So I politely knocked on the door and just asked if he could turn it down a bit upstairs.
He wouldn't get off his cell phone and gave me some BS about how he couldn't turn it down because the patrons wanted to hear it. I pointed out the only other upstairs patron, with the headphones, at which point he turned it down, but then promptly turned it up again.
If I'd wanted a loud cafe where people treat you like shit I would have gone to Kings Road or a plethora of other places.
Bottom line, the coffee isn't that exceptional, and it's a shite place to try and concentrate. -

I used to work across the street from this place and I'm sad I don't anymore. My coworkers and I go here between 1-4 times a day. Those that drink coffee (I don't) rave about how good it is. I go for their awesome selection of teas and AMAZING sandwiches. Seriously, check the chicken meatball. And if they have the banana nutella, have them toss some peanut butter and honey on it and you'll never go anywhere else again. The staff is super friendly and funny. Support your local businesses and check this place out!

Dare I say, some of the best coffee I ever tasted? Yes, I dare...
I don't know if they sweetened it, flavored it, or what - far as I know it was simply poured out of a pitcher. But this cup of brown liquid was among the best I have ever had the pleasure of sipping. So much so that I had to say "the hell with a 500-word essay, due in two days" and write this review.
The only reason this place hasn't been Yelped yet, I could only imagine, is because no one else wants you to know about it. Actually, I kinda don't either, buuut I suppose in order to keep the place running they need some sort of business, so here I am. As I write, they are playing "Come As You Are." Yes, Nirvana, my love. I'll take that as a sign I've come to the right place.
Upstairs seating, downstairs seating, it's all good. I opted second-floor, and was treated to a magnificent view - not just of the Hills (two words: I die), but of a super-secret meeting betwixt five filmmakers. Word has it, it's quite a popular place for convos of the sort... though you didn't hear it from me.
All in all a lovely, if unproductive, afternoon. Now, back to my eavesdropping - er, essay...
*Update*
Hours later... I found out their coffee is pre-sweetened. Saccharine stomach-ache! Still, 5 stars for free parking in back and the multiple good-looking customers.Listed in: Strung-out on Sunset, Support Your Local Beanery!

Yes. Yes Yes Yes. Not that easy to find, but awesome. Large, delicious flavored latte for UNDER $4?! Served to me by a super nice guy that took the time to brew me fresh decaf (because I'm on a caffeine detox) just to be nice? Yes. You are amazing, Irish Coffee House, and I will be back to visit you soon.
Easy to miss, which is probably good, because it will keep tourists away. WIFI is free, and there is a gigantic oil painting of the Irish countryside with a single sheep behind the counter that makes me laugh. What a great place. -

I try my booty off to support independent coffee houses, but my experience here proved the reason why people "just go to Starbucks."
The poor barista behind the counter (only person working in the whole store) was slammed to the point her head was spinning - trying to make someone's coffee, make someone else's sandwich, and cash everyone out. I was only trying to buy a bottled drink and a pre-wrapped bagel on the fly - it should have taken 30 seconds.
However this process took well over 10 minutes. And by the time they got to me, the barista was so flustered, I got overcharged (when in fact I was supposed to be discounted with some card I was given -t he reason i stopped by in the first place). The barista didnt know how to take a discount from the register, didnt know how to redo the transaction, and couldn't figure out how to print me a receipt.
So basically I paid 1.65 for the worst bagel ive ever tasted (with a price tag that said under a buck) and a weird drink for 1.50 - totaling 4 bucks with tax - that should have cost me 2 dollars with my discount card, and I dont even have a receipt to write it off.
Sorry, but this is why people go to Starbucks. -
