Invisible Cinema is the best movie store in Ottawa. Their often unique 6000 titles offer lots of selection for the various types of film aficionado. If you're into mainstream, it's more convenient to go to the nearby Blockbuster, especially because it has better hours and cheaper old releases. If you're a dramatic foreign film lover, it's best to go to Glebe Video. However, if your tastes lie in independent, arthouse, horror, foreign, classics, docs, cult cinema, cinema erotica and/or films found in the Criterion Collection, this is where you stop.

The staff is knowledgeable, so if you approach them, they'll be sure to help you find something you'll like. Movies cost $5 for two nights. If you rent 3 or more at once, you get a price break.

So first of all, the selection gets five stars. It is amazing! Alright, I'll admit...I've only scoped out and rented the really weird shit and some porn but I have skimmed through the other sections several times and the good indie films everyone wants to see are there.
It gets four stars though, because $5 a movie for two days is nuts. However, if that's what it takes to keep the business going, I'll shell it out. There isn't really anything like it in Ottawa.

The staff is knowledgeable and fun and friendly but recently staff seems less enthusiastic...oh well.

Oh, and I used to get my Vice magazines from there before Vice suddenly sucked balls, and that was a perk too. But you can find it anywhere now.....not that you would want to.....
