I've been to the Hurricane Grill a number of times for post-event gatherings and I've been very impressed with how well they handle large groups. The servers generally manage to be fast and get orders correct - and are also a little sassy!
Bar service is quick and they do a good job of keeping the noise level manageable enough that you can have a conversation. The noise levels certainly rise when the Canucks play and it's been a good place to watch playoff hockey.
Their appies are good for sharing, although the fish tacos are so yummy I really don't want to share! -

We would have forgiven the server for mixing up our egg requests so that the two of us who wanted "runny" received hard and vice versa (anyone can make a mistake) BUT what happened as a result of this was inexcusable. First, despite the fact one of us was still waiting while the others had finished, the plate was not taken off the check, so we requested that it was. This was done but when one of us asked the server if this would be taken off her earnings (we wanted to give her a better tip had this been the case) she became really snippy and launched into a ridiculous and unnecessary defence of the kitchen. Inappropriate and discourteous. So, since we did not enjoy our food, and the server was rude, we cannot recommend this place and will never return.

Tried to go to a local bar and found that they had shut down and happened to notice the Hurricane Grill on the way to the other establishment. We decided to check this place out as it was funky looking and it was close by! When you are hungry you do not want to be hunting around. The staff was very friendly and very helpful never leaving us very long to check we had everything we needed. The food was amazing including their chicken and beef burgers as well as the rest of the food that our group tried. The prices were very reasonable as well which is always a good thing to bring new customers back!

What I liked about the Marine Drive Hurricane Grill is that it has a quieter cozier atmosphere to it. Simple works for me when you want to go someplace and not be overwhelmed by someplace trendy or kitsch-y. For a Saturday night it was not overwhelmingly busy, there was music and there was large screens showing hockey but yet my friends and I were able to hear each other when we had a conversation.
When we went there we had drinks and appys and we were happy with what we ordered except the Chicken Wings which were quite small sized wings and you could have more flavours other than hot, spicy or salt & pepper. The other appys (Brushetta and nachos) were decent sized portions, enough for 3 people to enjoy.
One thing that this place needs to fix is to not let smokers light up right at the front entrance. There is an outisde canopy that also has the main entrance way and it made for a bad start when you breathe in the the cigar and cigarette smoke when you walk in there. -

Hard to believe that is the same at the one in yaletown!
they should switch servers lol, Nice, friendly, not with the "trashy look" and they were doing their work, definitely I left a good tip we left happy to come back!
Food, DELICIOUS, especially the lasagna! -

Went here on a thursday night, nice and quiet when we got there. Laid back style (seat yourself) and good service. We both ordered burgers, they were both so great! Real bacon and cooked to perfection. Nice drink specials will definitely come back. Only downside was people smoking right in the door of the patio, the whole restaurant filled with fumes.

I love this place! Not because of the atmosphere, the location, the awesome food, the nice service, your mom working here, etc... but holy effin christ this place has a lot of good looking dudes that hang out here!! WOW! I was having such a hard time ordering something to eat because I was distracted by the hotness factor of the men! EEK GAG I LOVE THIS PLACE!
Oh yes and uh... the food... it's good.... the drinks.... good too! I like my Stella on tap and that guy as my entree... I mean I'll have the chicken stir fry and perhaps you later ;)
It doubles not only as an eye candy spot but also as a place to eat, drink and watch the games.... Hockey games that is! Don't come here if your not a Vancouver Canucks fan. Most of them hang out here and yes most of them are hot! The patios a great spot to chill and hang out though when it comes time for Hockey season I'll be inside where I can cuddle up to some hot hockey fan and drink my beer. -

This location, unlike the one in yaletown, is very unpretentious. Kind of gave me a country-western (yet still a SPORTS BAR) kind of feeling. Down-home folks. Normally that small-town vibe would turn me off but this is a nice place to be and so friendly. Very different than the other Hurricane Grill.
All I can say is, if anything, go here for the nachos and the screens. I'm talking CHEEESE. Loads and loads of it. Layer upon layer. And a good view of the game. Perfect.
The heated patio is nice too: big and cozy. -

My friend and I ended up checking out this place when we drove my mom to north van to visit her cousin. we ordered drinks and their calamari as well as spinach artichoke dip. Drinks arrived on time, just as we had ordered them. The calamari was a decent size and was tender and not greasy at all. The spinach artichoke dip was one of the best I've had in years. The waiter was attentive but not overbearing. We left with big smile on our face and will definitely go back. I did tell the waiter how much we enjoyed the spinach artichoke dip and she said unfortunately, they might take it out of their menu. Hopefully they will change their mind.

Sports Bar! Though this is also a restaurant, if there's a game on, then the whole place knows about it. I went last week, one night when a jr hockey championship game was on. It was a big game, and people were screaming and cheering. So keep that in mind, depending on what ambiance you want.
I tried something new- the philly. The meat had a nice flavor, but overall I didn't dig the sandwich. The bread was soggy. It was overflowing, primarily with the peppers and onion. The peppers and onion tasted good- but it was an excessive amount. I ended up picking a fork through it, to avoid the soggy bread, and the onions falling out everywhere.
I opted for the side salad instead of the fries. The salad was big, but I wasn't impressed with the vinaigrette that came already on it.
I like Hurricane Grill a lot. I enjoy the energetic atmosphere, and think it's a good value. However, I won't get the philly again, stick with the buffalo chicken sandwich! -

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel. the menu was online and the food came out looking like the menu pictures and twice as delicious. Cooked perfectly. The service.... wonderful and friendly.

Just finished having dinner here. The food was wonderful and the staff all very friendly and polite. We ate out on the patio and were delighted to see large dogs are allowed to join their owners! I wish I had brought ours along.
We had the Filet Mignon which comes with scallops. It also usually comes with a potato side but I switched it for a simple green salad with ranch. Upon request they also brought me a side of pesto. Everything was just so good.
The kids both had a chicken wrap that was just as awesome.
Definitely a place I would go again. -

The waitress came up to our table and seemed as if we were disrrupting her day, She screwed up one of three orders got the bill wrong , when I flaged down a different girl at the end to find out that maybe she's new or something I caught attitude from the bartender/ supervisor,
I'm in the industry, this was a terrible display of service, too bad cause the was ok, though I won't be back -

I think I must be the only one that didn't like it. The tables are crowded too close together and the poor waitress had to shimmy between tables. My wrap was bland and dry but my corn chowder was really yummy.

This place is close to work so I come here often. Last time I went for lunch, I had the Grill Salad (6oz N.Y. steak on grilled vegetable) which was very good! Service is always good. I will have to come when there is a hockey game next time!

We went here to catch an Olympic hockey game in the afternoon, expecting it to be packed. It was nearly empty; the plentiful and friendly staff said all the fans were downtown and proceeded to treat us wonderfully. Clean, bright establishment with plenty of TV's and good viewing angles. Beer selection was good and reasonably priced. I had the Montreal Brisket sandwich, which was fantastic and had some of the best spicy mustard I've ever eaten. My companions had the Grill Salad (gorgeous and perfect medium-rare), French dip (ample but plain), and the pepper burger ("great!"). Also, parking is a breeze.
