The Honour Roll seems to have gotten one of those automatic rice rollers. I've noticed that as a result the thickness of the rice in each roll is more consistent. The quality of the fillings remains variable and not great, but I'm a big fan of the new consistency of the rice layer.

Stay away.  This place serves flavorless mush when there are far better quick lunch options a few meters away.

Go to Sprouts or the Pendulum or even the Delly down the hall.  ANYWHERE but here, I believe they serve the worst food on campus.

The only reason I ever eat here is convenience and lack of alternative options.  I work near the Museum of Anthropology,  where there are really no decent food options nearby.  I like that when I'm too lazy to bring a lunch I can stop here in the morning on my way to my office, grab some sushi, and leave it in the fridge until lunch time.   Quality wise though, everything is pretty bland and sometimes a miss altogether.  I usually get the spicy scallop roll which is decent (although lacking in spice), but opted for the unagi roll instead this week.  The eel was burnt so the whole thing had a bitter aftertaste. Gross.

A student at UBC that is in-between classes can usually be found meandering around the Student Union Building, known as the SUB, in search of food. The Honour Roll is located in the SUB basement, and while the quality is below average, it definitely satisfies a sushi craving. Most of the meals are prepackaged unless you are lucky enough to catch one of the newly-made sushi rolls that are just about to be put out (or if you request a roll to be hand-made in front of your face). The only roll that is superior to the other rolls and absolutely scrumptious is the yam tempura roll. The yams used are super-sized and succulent, and they dominate the rice in that roll. The other rolls (The California roll, the tuna roll, the salmon roll, etc.) are nothing special but will suffice when there is no other choice because of a limited lunch-time. The chicken teriyaki is terrible - it is served pre-packaged and cold, in a microwavable, plastic container (there are microwaves around, but heating up a meal as a lazy, college student that is pressed for time takes an extra five minutes, considering there's no line at the microwaves, and motivation).

Try to avoid this place during peak lunch-hours, since the line tends to get so long that it snakes up the stairs. It is definitely worth it to make the trek to the Village for Osaka sushi if you are getting anything else besides the yam tempura roll and have the time to do so.

Completely in agreement with Geoffrey B. Only, I want to add that their california rolls have absolutely no flavour! I know what you're thinking: "California rolls typically don't have any flavour." I would have thought that too till I ate here. It just tasted like a big mushed up ball of rice with soy sauce on it even though it had all the element--imitation crab meat, cucumber, avocado.

You're better off going to the Village for sushi.

The quickest, most convienient option for sushi on campus. Located in the basement of the SUB. Nearly all their offerings are boxed up and put in a case for people to grab as they walk by. This means the rolls are freshest when it's busy, as the staff have to constantly restock the case. Even when they are busy, though, the rice seems a bit stale. It's pretty standard mass-produce-and-go type sushi. It's only really worth it if you have no time and a serious craving. Skip it and try going off campus for your sushi needs.
