I came as a tag along with a friend.
I can't remember the last time I stepped foot into a Home Depot, but wow--was their customer service excellent!!
Everyone inside will greet you with a smile, everyone.
They all ask if you need help with finding anything and they will also stand by after they find the item you are looking for in case you have questions. I was blown away with their honesty in their answers and non-pushy salesman like attitude.
We also asked to see if they could offer us free boxes (I'm moving) but they couldn't since they destroy their boxes immediately after opening. They were apologetic, and quite sincere about it too.
I definitely recommend this place if you are looking to find handy stuff for your home and you lack the knowledge.Listed in: House stuff

We stopped in here to quickly grab something and I just have to say, the customer service was a totally pleasant surprise.
We were easily able to find someone who could help us find what we were looking for, and our checkout girl went out of her way to be friendly and pleasant. It's always a joy to be treated so nicely. Keep up the good work!Comment from Stephanie H. of The Home Depot 11/11/2011

I was disappointed every time I've been to this location. Biggest peeve, is that they made me buy useless bathtub caulk that needs to be removed and replaced on an annual basis. What brand is good? I can not re-caulk my tub every single year. THEN, to make matters worse, they have some ornery old guy working in the locks section. I needed a good door lock and he refused to let me open the box to look inside to ensure that is what I required. He was extremely rude about it. I think it's time he retired. Sent a note to the store manager but never heard a word back. I don't think the staff are very knowledgeable as at the Rona stores.

I went there to get a shower head, and I was very impressed by the store and the people there. So many people were there to help you. The place was so upscaled!! Such a big difference when compared to the other hardware stores I visited before. Highly recommended.

I love spending time at Home Depot. Wether I come here with my Sig Other and we get lost in the aisles looking for stuff for home projects or looking for gardening stuff with my son, it's wierd that this place is a way for us to connect.
It must be about projects. You come here to think and discuss and get ideas for projects. Somehow that is bonding.
Sometimes you'll find some amazing prices if you are here at the right time looking for the right item.
It doesn't hurt either that they have a Harvey's here as well. -

I walked in one evening last week looking for the Rubbermaid Reveal mop. When I entered the store, a clerk asked if she could help me so I told her I was looking for the Rubbermaid Reveal mop. She directed me to the Rubbermaid section. I looked but I could not see the mop for which I was looking so I politely asked. She pointed me to an array of buckets and said there they were.

I was pretty happy when this location opened, because it was so much closer to my home, but now I am moving, and I am trying to stop in as much as I can to get all the last minute things I might need for the new pad. I picked up some paint yesterday, I have always bought Behr paint from these guys cuz I find its not as stinky as some brands, and that's important to me cuz I get headaches from stanky shit.
I always find this Homo Depot to be eerilly quiet, like you think something is going on but you don't know what it is, like you're gonna turn down one of the isles and see Winona Ryder getting a five finger discount and be like "I knew it!"
The store is always clean, but sometimes I find the layout of this particular location a little confusing, and personally, I HATE the self checkouts that they have here and they have at Canadian Tired. Soooo.... you can't afford to staff your mega-stores now? Wtf? Its usually hard enough to find someone for help, now we don't even get someone to ring our purchases through? Geez Louise! In any case, I much prefer Home Depot to the other home fixer-upper-places. -

After being ignored at the Home Depot on Terminal, I entered this one in a pissy mood. Well that changed when I walked in - I was greeted with a hearty hello, and then as soon as I went to find the blinds, there was someone there in an instant who helped me immediately. I picked out the blinds I wanted, gave her the measurements, she cut them to size - badabing badaboom - I was out of there within 15 minutes. Easy peasy - the staff in general are nice and they know what they are talking about.

I do miss the heavier duty Home Depots. I find other Home Depots around the Lower Mainland to be larger and better than this one on Cambie. It's a watered down version of itself. This store is missing a number of key things. Free parking is one of them. Seeing that this Depot is closest to downtown, it seems that pay parking is another way to put a premium on residents living in downtown. It's also missing the big boy work like garden landscaping, lumber and roofing supplies. Granted, they cater to an area mainly for condo living but one time, I needed to pick up some gutter parts for my parents and this store doesn't carry them . However, the inventory is stocked full of home decor products like doors, sinks, toilets, bedroom, living room decor supplies, paints, lamps and lighting. Being a smaller store also results in fewer knowledgable staff members and a more "do it" (self service machines)or "find it" yourself attitude. Not the kind of service I want when most Home Depots are known for their knowledgeable staff. This time around, I went to buy paint and there was only one guy working. He had to help 2 others at the same time. What a trooper! Btw, they close at 6pm on Sundays!

After a few trips to Canadian Tire down the road, I was sort of shocked when every salesperson on the floor at Home Depot asked if they could help me. What a novel concept! Yes, please help me! Turns out they didn't have what I was looking for, but they recommended another place. I love old fashioned shopping where the salespeople offer to be of assistance instead of acting like they are just there to make sure that the merchandise doesn't walk out the door.

I normally have to travel all the way over to terminal to go to home depot so it can be a bit of an effort to get there.. especially when I need spackle... ok stop laughing I actually do use spackle. This location just opened up a few months ago and I luv the fact that it's smaller and I don't feel so overwhelmed when I go in. The aisles are smaller and a bit more intimate. The second thing I appreciate about this local is that there are no crowds.... yet. sometimes you can go in and a I swear a tumble weed roles by...like in an ol' western flick....."he rode into town on a mo-ped name Flame, they only had to kill his daddy once"..... ok I digress. ....oh yes... the crowds are non existent. I also like the self checkout. I find it kinda funny that the voice speaking to me at the till has a southern accent.... kinda completes the whole spaghetti western theme
