Review from Kerri W.
Banff, AB
This is a fascinating book shop. It specializes in off-beat spiritual, occult and wicca types of books. That doesn't really begin to describe it but gives an idea.
Kudos for the front window display which subtly changes every so often. I walk by this store often and am always intrigued by at least one book showcased in the window.
This is certainly a store for open minded people who are interested in beliefs and mysticism. It's got books that look like they've been around for a long time which is fitting based on the subject matter. The sub-categories are nothing like what you'd find in a mainstream bookstore.
Besides books, they offer Ouija boards and Tarot cards. There is an Egyptian sarcophagus which you can now see in the window.
When I first entered the store and was looking around, I didn't see anyone but felt I was being watched. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing, good for loss prevention. No one harasses you. It is laid out in such a way as to encourage you to explore.
I can't even list all the types of books they do have but if you're at all interested in the Templars, UFOs, Shamanism, Stonehenge, Indigenous religions and beliefs, spirituality and such, do check this store out. -
Review from Cory D.
Well I walked into this place purely out of amusement & boredom. It's not very big and one sees all kinds of books and weird artifacts all around. They have everything in books from UFOs to witchcraft. Theres even places to light incense to certain gods, I guess. These books are used and are quite pricey from what I checked out. I saw a book normally for $21.95 & it was being sold for $20. Big deal. And it wasn't in great condition either. The owner? seemed kinda weird as he puttered around in his little office looking at me with suspicion. Anyways if your into this sorta thing you should probably pass because you can get these books in new condition for a couple of bucks more.........or at least come in to check out the big egyptian sarcophagus.....oh joy!
