Great place to go for everything hockey. Huge selection and much of my gear I purchased from here. All the staff I've talked to have been very knowledgeable in the sport and stuff they sell.
Excellent skate sharpening too. -

Why would I drive all the way out to Surrey for my gear!? I was intrigued by their big Breakaway hockey sale. I could easily go to Sport Chek but I was curious to see their higher end gear and wanted to get fitted properly for new skates.
I'm not bashing Sport chek and they're great for what they are but the skates I bought from them last year were too painful to wear for more than a few minutes. This was a major purchase for me, so I needed the expertise of someone who really knows hockey.
Brandon was friendly, knowledgeable and patient with me. He took the time to measure my feet properly and I found out I've been wearing the incorrect size and width for years. I tried on 4 pairs of skates before deciding on their SMU Easton's. I spent a bit more than I wanted but they were on sale and they fit so nicely.
Somehow, I picked a up a pair of new elbow pads, jersey and shorts and was way over budget but I ended up happy! The problems I had with the equipment have been resolved quickly.
The regular prices are a bit higher here but if you're looking for a shop that carries gear with a higher level of protection and performance, this is the place to go!
