The most painless hair appointment I've ever experienced.
Now, most of you must be thinking, "Well shouldn't all hair appointments be painless?" but such is not true when you want to stay a blonde. Sad but true.
So I went to go get my hair done at my normal place when I found out that my hair stylist had quit so not to waste my whole day off I searched on Yelp and came across The Hair Studio 108. I couldn't have been more lucky. I got an appointment the same day with Candise, who is amazing by the way. She did an amazing job with my hair and I love it!
If you're looking for people who will take care of your hair and get your hair just how you want it. These are the people for you! Can't wait to go back! -

I haven't had a consistent hair stylist in awhile, since mine moved out of my area and have been going through withdrawal...it's hard to find someone who can style your hair the way you want it consistently.
I decided to use my trusty Yelp iPhone app...and it guided me to Hair Studio 108. Yelp can do no wrong! Ok, sometimes it can, but not this time!
The stylist was very helpful and even provided some suggestions that I was apprehensive about (especially since it was my first time here), but it turned out great. Aside from the skills, the service was fantastic and the studio was extremely clean and well kept.

My first visit was definitely my last :-( Even though Steffani tried to do a good job on my hair, I was not happy with the end result. I kept mentioning my concerns during my appointment, but was told that it would look great. My hair looked NOTHING like the photo I brought in. The color and the cut were both WAY off. I was so disappointed as I came here due to the reviews I read here on Yelp!
Only after going to a professional salon a few months later, did I find out that my hair was over-processed from my visit to The Hair Studio 108 and it was also cut unevenly. My new stylist showed me how uneven my hair was and that there were hardly any layers cut on one side of my head!
I ended up spending a little more money at my new salon and it was well worth it. I got EXACTLY what I was looking for and more. You know what they say...you get what you pay for. -

Ok. Let's get serious. Hair salons in LA cost a lot of money. And sometimes people think that to get a good haircut you have to spend a lot of money. Sometimes that's true and sometimes you leave a salon looking like Big Foot, ten lbs of money lighter
I found The Hair Studio on craigslist which is my home away from home. The offer was for an intro cut $10. I couldn't pass up $10 since I was about two seconds away from cutting my own hair myself.
The salon is in this industrial artist building, the last place you'd expect to see stylists, but it's a super fancy loft space with modern fixtures and beautiful hardwood floors. Steffani was really nice. She evaluated my hair and made awesome suggestions and then she cut it. For $10. I gave her a crazy tip because I felt bad for only paying $10 when she was SO great with the hair and my neuroticism.
I went back to her on Sunday because my hair was sooo thick that I could never put it down. I explained how I was having hot flashes and she really listened and took care of me and charged me only $20.
My hair looks FANTASTIC. I love it. She followed exactly what I wanted her to do, slightly shaggy but shorter in the back while maintaining the length in the front. I love it. It looks GREAT and it's sooo much lighter.
GO SEE STEFFANI. If, for whatever retarded reason, you don't like what she does, it's so cheap that you'll have hundreds of dollars left over to go see some Beverly Hills snobfest stylist. -

My lifelong search for a good hair stylist has finally come to an end! I can't tell you how happy I was to find Candise at The Hair Studio. Not only is she exceptionally well at cuts and color but she can do a blow out like no other! Being that I have unruly curly hair, it can be a challenge to achieve smooth/sleek, straight hair but that's never the case when Candise blow dries my hair. I always walk out feeling amazing.
On top of being the talented stylist that she is, she also has a great personality, which is a big plus in my book. Who wants to spend an hour (or more) getting their hair done with someone who makes you want to fall asleep?! I have experienced this before and let me tell you, its not fun :/ Another plus is she is super patient. No matter how crazy you want to go with a cut or color she is always on board with a smile and will make sure you are happy with it before you walk out the door.

As you can see with my 5 star rating, I like this place a lot--with lots of excellent reasons. My awesome hairstylist is Stefanie. She's talented, sweet, smart, and a great listener when it comes to cutting my hair and getting the style I want. Now that I've been going there for years, she's totally mastered my hair and style.
Another great thing about this place is that Stefanie takes her time. This is important with any hair and any style because this will lead to a more perfect cut. Stefanie also pays attention to little details like texturing my hair and making sure it fits the shape of my face, etc. These are some of the details I love getting at this place that you won't find from a lot of other hair stylists out there.
In short, this place is a must-try. It also has a great ambiance too. Very contemporary, yet comfortable, and the music is awesome as well. -

Times were tough for me this summer so I was happy that May P. suggested the talent and great prices at The Hair Studio 108. I was told Steffani is awesome - and she IS! I've only been to The Hair Studio 108 twice and I think I'm now a lifer. So far I've gone for simple things - an overall trim and a complimentary bang trim. I've left the studio feeling awesome both times!
After going to the same salon for a few years, I was naturally nervous about this new person and her new techniques. Luckily there is nothing to fear in Steffani. She is super friendly and outgoing and can meticulously work with your hair during a friendly chat.
It's a cool environment [about a 5min drive from my home in Silver Lake], and parking isn't bad. They have art gallery openings once in a while in their building. I know I won't need to come back for another month or so, but I'm already excited for that :) -

Best salon in town. Candise is awesome! She cares about giving you the cut and style YOU want. She takes the time to do your hair right, and also has a friendly, sweet personality. Highly recommend her.

Steffani is awesome! I always get nervous about the amount of hair that ends up on the floor, but when I see the results and put my glasses back on, I LOVE it! I didn't even have to explain too much-- she knew EXACTLY what I wanted.
I got so many compliments on my hair. My cousin said my hair looked expensive, but the price is totally reasonable. The studio is really cool looking and has a really relaxed atmosphere. It's small yet open and you get the feel that you're in an exclusive place. Steffani doesn't try to get you in and out of the chair too fast. She knows what she's doing and really takes care of you.
The location is great and it's easy to park. Highly recommended! -

Being a certified Steffani groupie I had no choice but to follow her here when she left her previous shop. Actually this is the third place that she's been at since I've trusted my hair to her talents.
Truth is I don't like getting the hair chopped, never have, but if I must have it cut then she's the best to cut it. She really pays attention to what she's doing and takes her time. To me that means that I don't need to go as often, because while bad hair cuts look nasty after just a week or two, a superb clip has legs.
The shop is quiet and clean, never a mob scene, never any attitude. Steffani's a sweetheart. She does a fantastic job. And the prices are very reasonable. -

Crystal Fontaine is great! She listens, is humble, makes suggestions, always checks in before doing the next step, and is super cool. The space is nice and spacious. There's never a sense of being rushed and I always leave happy not only with my new haircut/style, but that I had a nice conversation.
When between stylists (because I've moved to different areas in the last 10 years), I go through a long haitus from a haircut because I've had many negative experiences with new stylists. But I am sticking with Crystal even though I've now moved out of the area. The price is so reasonable and my haircuts have exceeded my expectations.
There's a lot of opportunities for discounts as well (via notifications thru twitter and facebook), which is what I took advantage of when I first came here. But I haven't had to use discounts and freely make appointments when needed. I've been back at least 4 times now, and I'm looking forward to my next appointment with Crystal this week! -

The Hair Studio 108 is a great place to get a quality haircut for a very fair price. I booked an appointment with Steffani and told her what I wanted, something low-key that I didn't have to mess with in the morning. She really delivered! I will definitely see Steffani for another cut in 6 weeks!
Give yourself some time to find parking, street parking only as far as I could tell. -

I've been seeing Candise for over a year now, and I still love getting compliments on my haircuts! Candise does a beautiful job of bringing out my natural curls and she gives me a cut that I don't have to work on since I hate flat-ironing or blow-drying my hair.
Candise also cuts men's hair, and she does an excellent job with my boyfriend. He was told recently by a critical female friend that his haircut was the best she'd seen in years.
The Hair Studio 108 has three stylists working in a large loft with huge windows. They have a nice range of hair care products to buy. Street parking is easy--just read the signs first. -

I started going to Steffani at the Hair Studio 108 just about a year ago. The place is very hip but still completely chill. Parking is easy and I think most people would enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and attention to detail. She never makes you feel rushed. Always takes the time to make sure you're happy with the results. I think if you're looking for a stylist that you can rely on and have regular appointments with, you'd be very happy happy with Steffani!

candise! you're amazing! you made me love my curly hair again!
i made an appointment with candise on a whim. had been growing my hair our for 6 months and it was such a draaaaag. my previous cut was way over priced and i was really unhappy with it, and with the idea of growing my hair out altogether. found hair studio 108 on yelp and decided to give it a go.
not only did she give me a BOMB cut, she made it as versatile as possible. i can now wear it as a cute and tame asymmetrical feminine sweep, or a rockin' curly faux hawk, or a choppy radically messy 'do. i have options! for the first time in years!
she approached my bizarro-multi-textured curly hair with total confidence. and now i can return the favor and recommend her with total confidence. -

Michael Leon has always has been the perfect stylist and colorist whenever I am feeling adventurous and want a complete change. I trust him and seem to be happy with the results everytime. Not to mention the large number of compliments I get after each new stlye.

I love The Hair Studio 108. I was worried when I moved to LA that all I would find were overpriced, pretentious salons. But I found a real gem in The Hair Studio 108. I found them by doing a search on Yelp. They were near my house, had good reviews, and the prices looked decent on their website, so I decided to try them out. I couldn't be more pleased with decision. The salon is nice and laid back, but still professional and modern. My stylist Kathleen really listened to what I wanted, and was wonderfully accommodating. I've come in with time constraints and budget constraints, and she's given me lots of options so I can find the best one for me. Oh yea, and my hair looks great! I would definitely recommend trying this salon.

I love this place. I called mid-morning on December 1 right before an event and was able to schedule a last minute trim and style with Greer. She was very professional and gave my hair a perfect layered trim and blow out style. I was in and out in 45 minutes. Thanks Greer!

I love this place! I followed my hairstylist of the past 10 years, Crystal Fontaine, here. A haircut from her is like no other, seriously. I've never had someone pay such attention to every detail, and the result is always amazing. I constantly get compliments on my hair. One cut from her and you will be hooked. The facilities are really awesome as well, a beautiful loft. I highly recommend!

So I kinda randomly picked this place because it's close to my place and I just moved to the area. I'm very glad I did, because I just got a wonderful cut and color from Kathleen. Really, was awful and f****d up when I came in and now my hair is totally kick ass with some STYLE. Finally! It's shiny and my favorite part is the bang. Nice, thick, fully and not wimpy. Kathleen is totally sweet, cool and talented! You can't beat the price either. : )

For the past 4-5 years Steff has done my hair! What I love about the Hair Studio and Steff in particular is that they **actually** listen to the customer and work with you instead of the stylist doing whatever they think is best for your hair or face shape. Scheduling is a breeze since they are very flexible with anyones' schedule. Steff is an amazing stylist with a fun loving personality, you can talk to her about anything from TV shows to life experiences, it really makes the time you spend here fly. And the cost for a visit varies with what you want done but it is within VERY reasonable prices for LA standards. The salon is very clean and has a warm personal/hip loft-style touch to it. Parking is no problem here with plenty on the street or private parking. Just make sure you closely read the street parking signs for street cleaning days since there are no meters and it is adjacent to Virgil Middle School. Oh and last thing! Ask for the building security code when you schedule in order to enter the building or keep their phone number on your cell phone to be buzzed in!

I have been going to Steff for years now. I have followed her to wherever she is working. I love to go this location because of the atmosphere and the area. She is the ONLY person that I let touch my hair! i have recommended her to friends and family alike, and everyone loves her and goes back over and over. I went to an Art show at the Hair Studio in December and I think that is cool that they have those kind of events there. They are more than just a Hair Salon. GO THERE!!! Get your hair done! You wont be sorry!!!

I'm not sure if I've posted a Yelp review of Hair Studio 108 before -- as I've told just about everyone I know how great this salon is -- but this place is awesome. Candise cut my hair and I went from drab to fab in under an hour (and I had TONS of hair to get cut). I've been to several other salons and paid more and didn't get close the quality of service that I got here. It is such a chic yet welcoming salon, I can't wait until my next appointment in August!

So, after living in LA for four years and running back to Texas every time I needed a haircut, I finally decided to get serious and find a stylist out here. Thank God for Steffani! Getting your haircut by someone for the first time can be extremely stressful, especially if you're like me and you're hair is a big part of your life, but Steffani was so amazing. She actually took the time to talk to me about what I was looking for, and I'm SO happy with my cut. I'm trusting my hair to her from now on.

5 stars for Crystal Fontaine!! If you're looking for a great stylist who will also provide you with great conversation, look no further! Not only is she a great stylist but she is also very personable with her clients & makes them feel comfortable (there's nothing worse than sitting in a stylists chair for an hour with no decent conversation!). I also love that she is so helpful in coming up with new styles for me when I want to try something new but don't know what I want. She's been doing my hair for 8 years now & I wouldn't go to anyone else!! The Hair Studio 108 is lucky to have her!
