Really great hotel, though it's in Toronto. I just loved the place I stayed at in Toronto I really didn't want to leave.

Can't beat the price, but to get anywhere like Easton Center you have to walk through some sketchy area first.  Outside my hotel room is the Fillmore hotel - currently on the board out front it says "naked chicks with hockey sticks" - classy.  I had a bottle of wine, and was told that there is a cork screw in every room, well mine didn't have one so I went to the bar to have it opened-- the bar tender said it was $15 to open a bottle of wine, so I don't understand why they would have a "service charge" when I should have been able to open it my self.  I ended up getting it open with a knife and the next day went to buy a cork screw and the lady at the desk said "oh, don't buy one here" handing me one from behind the counter.

The room was nice and clean, smaller than what we thought but still nice.  It smelled great and has dimmer switches.

Work out area was garbage- half the equipment didn't work.

The pool was nice, clean and well maintained.  In the changing areas there is a sauna and steam room.

On the roof there are two hot tubs and at night they play "movies" but really they "are only licensed to play MUCH music" witch is a teeny music show -- not the most romantic. But the hot tub and view was good.

Free breakfast was good.  Standard eggs, bacon, French toast and cereal.

Hotel staff is kind of rude if you as any questions.

When you book the hotel call and ask how much parking is.

The web site says they have a bus that will take you anywhere in the city -- they did not say only Monday - Friday.

While visiting Toronto this past weekend, my boyfriend and I stayed at the Grand.  Such a nice hotel!  They really impressed me with the service, though.

We took a red-eye flight into town so we arrived at the hotel around 7am.  All we wanted to do was sleep for a few hours before having to do anything.  Amazingly, they let us go ahead and check in that early!  I think we must have gotten lucky that someone either checked out super early or didn't show up for the night before.  We did call ahead and ask for an early check-in, but were told that it may not be possible because the hotel was full the night before.  We were shocked to be allowed up to our room so early.  The woman at the front desk also suggested we go ahead and take advantage of the free breakfast before going upstairs to sleep.  Awesome, now we're fed and we can go to sleep.

The bed was super comfortable.  I'm allergic to down and had forgotten to mention that to them.  Luckily, the closet already had spare foam pillows and a blanket to use instead of the feather stuff.  Yay!

The view was spectacular, too (we were on the 18th floor).  Our room had a little mini kitchen in it, which we did not expect.  Everything was clean, the shower worked great and housekeeping was very friendly and happy to oblige when we asked to have our room cleaned a bit late in the day.

I don't swim in public pools (yuck), but the pool and roof-top hot tubs were really spectacular looking.  Kind of neat if you're into that kind of thing.

You can get room service around the clock, including options for a vegan like me.  Yay!  That rarely happens.

The free breakfast is full of hot food.  Eggs, bacon, sausages and potatoes and an assortment of breads and jams and pastries as well as fresh fruit, juices, teas and coffees.  Not bad for free, I think.

I'd stay here again for sure.

Fantastic value - five-star amenities all around. You've read about the two-story saltwater pool by now. You probably know about the roof hot tubs and terrace. Those are nice for sure. I was equally impressed by the fresh flowers in the lobby, the "real" room keys, the lovely hot breakfast (included) on the terrace, the travertine tile in the bathroom, the waffle weave guest robes in the closet.

Overall, a *great* hotel in not-the-greatest neighborhood. Not badly located, otherwise: easily walkable to Yonge & Dundas Square and Eaton Centre/Ryerson University. We'd stay here again.

The room I had here was spacious and elegently decorated. Good quality textures all around in their bedding, bath, and room items. In place of the nasty industrial carpet one usually finds in hotels, even nice ones, The Grand has lovely dark hardwood floors. All rooms come with flat panel TVs and ours even had two to boot.

A complimentary continental breakfast buffet is included with your stay--it's pretty standard fare but of a better quality than you might find at a Holiday Inn. Service by the front desk and other staff members seemed personal enough (i.e. not to the point where you feel like you're being stalked).

OH, and you have nice views of the city from the roof top hot tub, where they project movies/tv on the wall behind you. Imagine sitting in there on a cool summer evening, with rap music videos behind you. It was cliche in that way that cliche's are SO enjoyable. Now, where's the waiter with the Dom?

    Excellent.

A little on the gilded side for styling but all in all a pretty top shelf place.

Waaaayy better than the Strathcona which was the disaster we stayed in before.

The staff is excellent and the rooms well appointed.

We also got a great deal on http://hotels.com

In an area that is up an coming. Not the most stylish but felt comfortable there and not far from eaton center.

Everything in Toronto is pretty close and easy to get to.

The Grand has spacious rooms and decent service.

It's not in the best area of town though.

The decor is not modern it is a bit gaudy for my taste.

Attending a conference here and stayed overnight. Friendly staff, rooms are cozy and modern with hardwood floors. Bathroom has a relaxing showerhead. Beds are a little hard for my liking. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner. All were delicious... seems like deserts are home made or atleast have a pastry chef. Overall, great stay and would recommend.

    Amazing.
    Would DEFINITELY stay here again.

The location is not ideal mind you but the service, cleanliness, friendliness, helpfulness, staff and value was awesome. And there is a great thai restaurant just next door.
