Nice open area that has a little bit of almost everything. Pool tables, foosball table (only one unfortunately), VLT's, couches, low seats, high tops, bar, patio, projector screen TV's, LCD's, and more. It's kind of a neat place to hang out and watch a game or play pool. Not many servers usually, but they don't suffer because of it. It's amazing how some places can have few servers and still have good customer service, and some places have way too many servers and have the worst customer service. So I appreciate the quality of servers they hire here.
As mentioned, pool prices are a tad high, I'd say on average you do about 6 games an hour, and they charge somewhere between $12 and $15... I can't remember. So a little expensive in that sense.
Food is good. I've had the fries on a few occasions and they have always been impressive - the thick cut ones with lots of flavour. The wings are really good here and they come with dip. Half priced on Wednesdays so $6/lb and it comes with dip and veggies whereas a lot of places are 10 wings for $0.25 but it's $1 for dip and $2 for veggies so I'd say for the extra two or three wings you get from a pound of wings and the veggies/dip it's very comparable.
Nice hangout place. Definitely will continue going there!
Wings:
$0.25 Wednesdays

Cajun,

Sure, The Garage is a place to play pool. But even without the pool tables, it's still a great place to go. My fiance & I would regularly go to The Garage to watch PPV hockey. For just that alone, it was worth it.
Now, I have played pool here too. My old manager would routinely bring us to The Garage for team building, aka, drinking and playing pool. As far as a billiard is concerned, they are top tier. The tables are well kept and a pleasure to play on. I'm no pool shark, mind you, but I know a decent pool table when I see one.
Watching the games here, or any sport, is great. They have lots of TVs and a couple of large projection screens. You can pretty much see the game from anywhere, which is important for any sports bar. I've also enjoyed almost all the appetizers, and they always tasted delicious.
Where I think The Garage really shines, and is likely overlooked for, is their pizza. Every time my fiance & I go, we order their pizza. It is really, really, really good pizza. Take out the TVs, the memorabilia, the pool tables, and the girls, leave me with just the pizza, and I'll be a happy man. Yes, it's that good! -

The Garage resembles just that -- a huge old garage. Cavernous ceilings leads to a less-than-enjoyable sports-on-audio experience.
The billiards tables are over-priced and even. The cues are about as straight as Elton John. The kitchen is shared with a kiosk in the main concourse of Eau Claire market. Their Reuben sandwich comes without hot mustard and in some provinces, that's a crime, man....a bitter crime. -

Calling all pool sharks! Want an amazing place to play pool, have some drinks, and actually have an audible conversation? The Garage is the place for you.
Believe it or not, The Garage is one of my all-time favourite first-date spots. Why you ask? Well it's like this:
#1. If you're a bit of a pool shark like me, then it's a good place to sink some balls (excuse the pun) and find out if you're date can handle you winning now and then.
#2. You can actually hear each other talk at The Garage, which automatically means that your date is interested in what you have to say - and let's face it, if he's just getting together with you in hopes that he wont be able to hear you, well, it's clearly not going to work.
#3. The food and drinks are reasonably priced and the servers are fantastic. They GET when you give them the eye and want some solo time with your date. They also get when all you want is the bill.
#4. There are TVs all around The Garage, which means you get to see what your date finds more interesting: you or the televisions? There IS a right answer here.
#5. Once you've had your fill of playing pool, eating some grub and getting to know one another, there's plenty more to do in the area. If the date is going well, you can always go for ice cream, go feed the ducks, or go for a romantic walk around the market and the path outside. If the date is NOT going so well, the parkade is conveniently located right by The Garage, or you can always escape via the C-Train which is only a few blocks away.
The Garage is the perfect place to get to know that special someone you've been having in your thoughts. Put the important questions on the table and get your 'Is he/she worthy of dating me?' screen test out of the way at The Garage. -

The Garage has existed in Eau Claire Market for about as long as Eau Claire Market has existed. When I was a kid, I used to peer in when we visited the food court and wish with all my being that I be allowed inside. I just looked so... COOL.
Now that I am older and have been a grand total of three times, I can say that either times have changed or I have because I'm pretty lukewarm. The pool tables are cool, but not enough of a draw considering the prices and atmosphere which is... decent. The service has been ok all three times, but we were always mildly neglected after the initial order. It's really frustrating when you're all prepared to order and then you have to wait fifteen minutes, then another ten (at least) for them to bring you your order.
The sandwich I had placed firmly in the "It's ok" category.
The place is still pretty interesting looking, being a converted garage. Not nearly as cool as my six year old mind might have imagined. -

Need a good place to play pool? Visit the Garage. They are all about the pool! Seriously, there are so many pool tables in this place I'm surprised it's not always packed. It's a huge pub and has at least 10 tables to play at. If you're a fan, and you're in the Eau Claire vicinity, you should stop by the Garage for a couple of games.
They have plenty of TV's to satisfy the need to watch sports at a pub. You can visit the Garage to watch all the hockey and UFC games you want and drink beer and play pool or darts while doing it. It seems like the perfect venue for sports-lovers!
The staff at the Garage is your typical group of servers and bartenders. They're extremely nice and get the job done with smiles on their faces! Just don't forget to leave a nice tip because these people deserve it. They can get pretty busy on UFC game nights and work their butts off to bring you food and beverages.
The atmosphere is pretty nifty! They've got so much stuff everywhere and it all fits perfectly with its name... the Garage! They've got oil and gas cans on shelves, signs and tools and a large motor hanging from the ceiling. This scares me too, but rest assured it's not coming down anytime soon.
It's a nice place to go after work or during your lunch break. The food is decent and the prices aren't outrageous. Good fun, I say! -

The last time I went to this place it was St. Patrick's Day and they ran out of bread ..of all things ...I would have thought that on such a huge day for people to go out drinking and eating that they would have stocked up on bread..guess not.
It is a great place to go have a beer and place some pool with friends. Its big enough to bring a group of people. There are lots of table and you can sit at the bar as well.
