Christine R made an excellent UYE possible here as I attended "Vancouver's Got Talent" with some amazing Yelp voices on Karaoke Monday at The Forum Sports Bar. It's unfortunate that the Karaoke didn't take place until later at night which wasn't meant to be for some that had their mind on working or getting up early the next Morning.
Prior to joining some of the best Elites of Vancouver, I was awaiting them at a Table watching Blake Griffin and the LA Clippers get beat on 3 side-by-side Big Screens right behind the Bar. I bet that the Bartenders thought I was trying to give them Eye-contact but I was merely naturally drawn to anything TV related.
I've got to say I was quite turned off initially by the cost of the Mojitos($10+) and other drinks but luckily each night has a few Drinks on special which are more relevant and down-to-earth. The Mojitos wasn't overly sweet which is nice but needed more Booze even for a light drinker like myself. -

Went here for hockey game with a small group of friends. We knew since it is a hockey game and sport bar it would get busy, so some of the group went early to grab seats.
When the rest of group came the waitress redirected us to another location of the bar, when we got there, another waitress said we couldn't sit there. We then got redirected back to our old location then told again to move to a spot where our group would be split up. As you can imagine this was super frustrating. It was even more frustration to see that the first redirection to the bigger both was not even used the whole time we were there.
The service there was just subpar. The whole redirection thing, the waitress did not provide us with menus until we asked, and there were long gaps between when the waitress would check in on us.
The food and drinks were.. how can i describe it... meh. Normal pub food, just over priced and the same for the cocktails. Well we were pretty sure that the said alcohol in the cocktails were not present.
Overall, there is nothing there to make me come back. If you are looking for a great spot to watch the game, this isn't it. I suggest not wasting money or time on this place. There are so many other places to enjoy them! -

I must start this review by saying that I was not at the bar at a time where there was a hockey game on so maybe the place is a decent sports bar but I digress. When we arrived they had some tv's on showing some sports highlights with some terrible music on the sound system. Soon after arriving the tv's were turned off and they started pumping crappy top 40 music! I did not head to a bar/pub to go to a dance club there are enough of these on the Granville Strip already!
Wiggle Wiggle Wiggle I am sexy and I know it........ ahhhh the music is translating into the review.
Back to our scheduled review.
If you are looking for a true sports bar this is not the place to go. I recommend heading out of downtown into Vancouver Proper or heading out into the burbs. Here you will get a sports bar that is sports all the time (they may have bad music but it is not a night club). A sports bar should have tv's everywhere from big to huge. Everywhere I say!
I will just have to remember that the Granville Strip is off limits after dark! -

Random night in Van. Spent a couple of days up in Van with some people and didn't really plan what we were going to do for the night. Was going to head to a club but there were lines everywhere.
Went inside one club realll quick and left because we didn't like the music. On our quest to find a good hip-hop club, ran into some dude that gave us tickets to get into forum.
Didn't realize it was a bar until we got there but I guess it was some special DJ night. They played some house music and we made the best of it. Crowd was meh. -

Ugh, where should I start. 1) Terrible Caesar's at this place; 2) The calamari was all tentacles; 3) The worst trivia night ever. More on the trivia night, I was trying to watch a Canucks game and the ridiculous trivia and inane hosts nearly made me leave. I will remember this place on future trips to Vancouver, as a place absolutely not to go.

Firstly the place had rasied the pricing on all drinks as well as having crappy service. Not only that, they overcharged us on our meals. As well as not telling us of the cover charge when we had called the place for seats. That is insane and rude. The waitress seemed like she did not want to work there. She threw our dishes on the table and rolled her eyes. The only thing she was diligent in was double charging some of us and chasing after us to pay the bill.

Love the Karaoke Mondays! Great hang out for Yelpers!
They have tons of space. 1L mojito specials served in mason jars! But they didn't have so much alcohol in them.
And Barry M's burger sat for 10 minutes before being served to him, and was charred. Other than that, they were good with our group.Listed in: Get y'er drank on!

Yay for karaoke Mondays! (Although, note to Forum staff: why do you need to start the fun so frickin' late on a "school night"?? No offence but not like anything else exciting was going on between 9 and 10. We brought you the party!)
Anyway, I digress. The cheap 1L mojitos were great - although a little more alcohol wouldn't have hurt. I personally received good service but I know other people had some issues.
Anyway, I would love to come back at some point more karaoke. I didn't eat at Forum on this occasion but I have had appies here before and they were decent.Listed in: Best Nachos

Came here again on an actual sports night. The Canucks game was on and so the place was buzzing.
Drink specials were OK. The mojitos were nice and big, and on special, but I still can't get over having to pay more than $15 for a pitcher of Molson. That's ridiculous!
Service was pretty good for a weekend hockey night, and our server made a note to hand our party over to another server so that she could manage the 50+ group of people next to us and not have us neglected. Good call!
I'm still meh on the Forum. It's good when you're close and there's nowhere else to go.Listed in: Nighttime Drinks & Eats

Nothing says ball-a like being chased after by a waitress to pay your one drink bill even though you paid her 10 minutes before. That's how I roll.
Came on a Friday to check it out and instead found a door girl who seemed to hate her life and enough douche bags to fill an entire tub of douche. A douche tub.Listed in: Bar-ry's List of Bars and…

Came up from Seattle with a buddy a few years back and stopped by here to watch a match. We had a pretty good time until the flirty bartender girl got off her shift and bought herself and us a couple shots. We probably bought ourselves 5 beers and got our $85 TAB afterwards charging for our beers, the shots SHE bought us AND her drinks AND the tabs of our two friends that had already paid and left! When we tried to protest, the bartender scolded us and we called our other friend who showed up and showed her reciept. They told her to get out and two burly freaky guys stood up behind us until we signed our tab.
Welcome to Vancouver (or Istabul?). -

I'm only ever here on Karaoke Mondays, as I'm not a drinker, but I am FIlipino, so karaoke is in my blood. :)
Pros: good sound system, TV screens everywhere you look so the words are always there for you, wait staff don't get snarky even if all you ever buy is juice or tea (we do tip well, sorry, I'm just allergic to alcohol!). The host, Whitney, is very friendly, and always ready with your weekly dose of sexual harassment (in a very loving manner, of course...)
Cons: One time the music was waaaaaaay too loud, dunno if everyone else in the place had ear plugs but it was ridic. There are usually tons of singers there so even if there's only 5 groups, if everyone in the group is a singer then you're waiting an hour to sing again. The host is also prone to getting distracted by pretty, inebriated ladies who buy him tequila shots, and sometimes pick fights about who gets to sing which song with him. Karaoke drama! Aaaaaaaand why does karaoke have to start so late? If they started at 9 we could get more singing done! -
Review from Karen R.
I joined a yelp group here for Karaoke recently. Tell me WHY the place doesn't have the karaoke start earlier than 10pm!? And then if say five people put in songs, the DJ doesn't call those singers up in the order their songs were submitted? And what's with the slutty DJ comments and obvious alcohol consumption (to reckless abandonment - was it an act?). And a $14 taco salad!? The environment was over-loud and just not as fun as other hangouts. The group rocked but there are way too many other cooler places than to do _this_ again. Sigh.

The type of sports bar Red Card wishes they were.
TV screens everywhere showing the game you actually want to watch, not championship darts from Wales. You can't turn around 360 degrees without seeing a big screen TV.
A large group of us went there for be 2nd game of the play-offs and despite the rabid hockey fever the waiting staff was quite prompt and attentive, but mildly snarky at times, but I'll let that slide due to the absolute chaos that was going on at the time.
The food was typical pub fare, burgers and fries, what you want at a sports bar not lobster and butternut squash ravioli, once again take note Red Card. Pretty decent quality though, on par with some of the other chain restaurants such as Cactus Club and Earl's but a little bit on the pricey side for what the food actually was.
All in all the Forum has quite the potential and hopefully knock the over-rated Shark club off its throne as the number one sports bar in downtown Vancouver. -

I decided to give the Forum another chance on the weekend. I nearly laughed when as soon as we walked in a server came over and took our order straight away. This server looked after us really well all night and we didn't have to wait for drinks at all. Such a big improvement from my last visit so I am more than happy to update my review.
The main draw for this place as others have said is that although it is a sports bar with televisions plastered everywhere, the other design elements make it feel a touch more upscale.
I wonder if the $10 cover will last after the Olympics, I hope not.Listed in: Granville Street

Good sports bar in that it has a decent menu, TVs galore, and good friendly service.
8 bucks for a pint of beer was a little too steep. So visits back will be limited. -

When this place first opened I was impressed with the Plasma's and the overall space. During the Canucks run I went on 2 different occasions. The first time they had a special on pitchers. I came back again and all the prices had been jacked up to the. I also asked the waitress about this and told her that I had bought a pitcher for $14. She basically called me a liar!? Also I another time I had reserved table and they had lost my reservation? Recently I went back to watch the game and they were charging $9 for a pint on a Tuesday night. I could go on and on. I won't be going back.

Yeah, good little sports bar. Great space. Our waitress was a great little girl with a good attitude and quick wit (which is good, as my friends are douchebags). The only problem with the place is the washroom is located basically at waterfront station. Seemed like I had to walk a mile in the basement to find it. And with the number of beers we consumed, I made that trip a few times.

Went there a couple times for private functions & one other time for a bday on a Sat nite. Food was acceptable for a sports bar. I wouldn't call the food a good deal but it was generally in line for this market segment. The most annoying feature of this place was the loud music either live or DJ. So loud that the speakers seemed to be over powered & it was incredibly difficult to communicate an order to the server let alone have a conversation among friends by yelling. Not impressed with the volume or type of brash guitar music.

Went there for opening Sunday of the 2010 NFL Season. This place gets 5 stars for simply having girls wearing football jerseys waving pom pom's. I cannot comment on the food or drink. Just the pom pom's!

This is one of the better sports bars I've ever visited. Many number of high-def TVs all over the place with surround sound. The night I visited, it cost 8 bucks to get in. This place GETS BUSY! I was here for the Manny Pacquiao boxing match. A ice hockey game (Toronto vs Vancouver) was also taking place. Needless to say, if you plan on coming here for pay-per-view or other big-name games, call early for a reservation.

We have wanted to go check it out for one of the games for a while and one of my friends is in a wheelchair. So we want to make reservations to make sure we get a table. First time we called, we were told they don't take reservations. Then on a different day we went down almost 2 hours before game time and was told that all the tables have been reserved for game time. When we asked about the reservation thing, the hostess told us that they take reservations on weekend days, just not week days. I think that's BS.
We still finally went yesterday again because we really want to check the place out and finally were able to reserve a table. But there were a few more things we were pretty pissed at.
1) they charge a $5 cover for a game on free TV, no UFC or anything else that night.
2) the music is way too loud, it literally hurt our ear drums (and I go to sport bars a lot and am definitely not afraid of some noise), didn't help that my girlfriend was there with us and she's an Audiologist.
3) the food is alright, not bad, but certainly nothing special.
4) when my buddy had to go to the bathroom, we realized the wheelchair washroom was locked because they were using it to store equipment. The first time he had to go, the door couldn't even be closed so I had to stand there and try to block the door so he can have one shred of privacy from all the people who were walking by to go to the washrooms downstairs. It got so bad I had to talk to the guys to have them remove the stuff from there, which they did and they felt pretty bad (so there are a few guys there who were pretty cool).
5) one of the waitresses (the one with dark hair, not ours, ours was fine) was a bitch, she kept trying to squeeze by our table to get to a couple of the tables and kept hitting us. And one time, without asking or even looking at us she just took one of the chairs from our table and pushed it away. I had to stop her the next time she came by and gave her what-for for doing that before she returned it.
Overall, there were a few good guys but if you are looking for a place to watch the games that is not crazy loud, then it may not be for you, it's more for the hard-core clubbing crowd who may also watch to catch the games. -
Review from Ashley O.
I went here twice during the Olympics, and twice on my last trip to Vancouver. It's a nicer sports bar with a small dance floor in the back. The bartenders and waitresses are pretty quick - thumbs up to that. The drinks are also pretty cheap. I'd say this place is fun to go to for a quick pregame before any of the bigger clubs on Granville.
