I'm still loving this place after all these years.  Our floor hockey team is becoming a regular fixture here when our group size is small enough.  The service is always excellent, friendly, and efficient.  The food is really great, and the prices are reasonable.

It's a busy place, so get there early if you are hoping to watch a hockey game!

If you haven't been in a couple years I really recommend giving them another shot.

The tuna bites are the bomb.

A late Winter evening on the cusp of my first weekend off in over 2 months and I knew exactly what I was getting into when I met up with Corey after work and we headed over to the 5 Point.

Situated in a beautiful iconic heritage hall (the history of which can be found HERE) in Mount Pleasant on South Main, the Five Point has been a neighbour eatery and drink spot for the past 7 or  8 years at least. I have spent many evenings there watching the Canucks win and lose on the big screen TVs and whiled away drunken afternoons on a number of St. Patrick's Days. Interestingly enough, today is St. Patrick's Day and it does feel odd to not be there surrounded by people, drinking Guinness and drinking one of the most inappropriately named shots ever: Irish Car Bombs. Political correctness and shots aside.... The decor is decidedly Donnelly in it's dim lighting black paint and wood finished simplicity, with a renovation last year revitalizing a beaten down space The Five Point does appear at first glance to just be another Donnelly clone in a sea of forgettable bar/eateries. Luckily it rises above the Donnelly standard of sub-standardness in a few key ways such as attentive servers and slightly better food.  The Five Point is essentially a sports bar though. It's a bar that has to serve food and it serves "OK" food at slightly inflated prices. Their burger is good enough, the nachos suck and the appies are too small for the price... but this is a post about wings.

For some unknown reason The Five Point has the best fucking wings in the city. Full stop. I have a few friends who agree with this and we are all fluxomed as to why this is.

There is nothing on the menu that is remotely comparable to the perfection that is the hot wings here. $12.95 gets you about 9 or so large wings.  They have a spicy cilantro hot sauce on them that is definitely Franks-based. It's a wonderful mid range heat  and the subtle sweetness underlying the cayenne pepper goodness mixes well with the slightly perfumey cilantro. They are perfectly cooked. Each of the 5 times I have eaten them they have come out with the skin so  crispy it pops slightly as you bite through it. Beneath is thick juicy chicken meat. Like remarkable amounts of meat. It's not like the wings appear any larger but this is no starter. Corey couldn't finish his... but then he did, eventually, and I toughed my way through. The triumvirate of crisp skin, perfect hot sauce seasoning and thick tender juicy chicken creates this trinity of awesomeness that just assaults your palate. I don't know where these magical wings are sourced from or what sort of human being is cooking them but while they are heavy in meat they are still somehow light and never oily. Pure. Fucking. Magic. And they have ruined me for other wings setting the damn bar so high. Soooooo, if you find yourself in the neighbourhood or you have a craving for wings. Stop in. Their Caesars are remarkably good, the beer list is decent and not too over-priced. Order yourself a pitcher and a plate of wings and transcend the banal mediocrity of the standard-bar-hot-wing.

I don't know exactly what it is about the Five Point, but it just doesn't quite do it for me. I mean, they've got Guinness on tap and they make delicious Black & Tans -that should be enough to win my affection, right? Sadly, it seems I'm slightly more difficult to please than I had once thought.

The huzz and I stopped by the Five Point after a recent escapade along Main Street, as he was dying of hunger and I had to nip his hungry crankiness in the bud. We ordered a couple of beers, and my husband had the poutine while I had the spinach, quinoa and bocconcini salad. It should have been a winning combination; I love quinoa, and bocconcini is one of my favourite things to eat in the world. Sadly, about half of the salad remained untouched on the plate, as it was slightly bland and soggy. Too bad.

After finishing our meal, it took us a fair bit of time to flag someone down to get the bill. Although I'd say the service was good overall, it's always annoying when you're raring to go and are trapped awaiting the bill.

Overall, it's a decent place to come for a few beers, but it's still got some work to do. I much prefer their sister pub, the Charlatan on Commercial Drive.

    Truly AWFUL food.

Ordered the nachos. Chips were stale AND soggy. Scant cheese. Canned tomatoes. Couldn't finish the plate even though I was starving.

You'd get better food on an airplane.

If I lived near here I'd be here a lot. This place has all the hallmarks of a good local.
Good food, great drink selection and good service.
It's a small space and always seems to fill up quickly.
As Christine R mentioned, it's hip without being intimidating and is a nice intimate space.

Have gone here numerous times but this place has been slipping of late (in my books, anyways).  I went in there the other nite with a friend of mine and I asked to sit at a high top table near the front. The place was less than half full but the hostess/server?? told us that we had to sit at a two person table. So we got shoved to in corner. My second complaint has to do with the large glasses they put hi-balls in. If I order a single plz don't put the drink in a double old-fashioned glass!! Ends up being too much mix. The food here is okay. Nachos were pretty tasty.

Went pub hunting and ended up here.

Parking is available on the street.  Lots of spots along Main.

The place is pretty freaking loud.  It was 90% full when we showed up.

The style runs along the lines of "Old English".  Lots of wood panels everywhere.  There is also a large patio outside.

Beers here are some $5-6 a pop.

I had a chance to try the Red wine braised short ribs.  It was actually quite well done. Nice tender chunks of meat.

The biggest complaint however was that the waitress brought my friend a 2nd beer when he said he didn't want one.  She asked him as he was finishing his 1st, he waved and said No, and she took that to mean Yes.  It created a really awkward moment as the beer bottle had already been opened.  At the end we decided to eat the cost, but my friend was definitely not happy.  I'm sure the waitress wasn't trying to screw us, but this is not good customer service.  They should've taken it back, no questions asked.

    2.5 stars.

Warning, this is a snob review coming.

Pub grub, not terribly spectacular, and well.......not terribly terrible.  Drinks are OK, and the place can get crowded, and busy.   Don't really care for the interior (even after renos) and the place is small, a bit tight, and can get loud, really loud.

I occasionally  come here for Friday after work for drinks if my buddies can't make it into DT.  On Fridays it is jeans day for me, but when I come here I am still a bit over-dressed.  Maybe I need to ditch the blazer that I wear with the jeans, then I'll be OK.

I don't care for waitresses who sometimes have multiple body piercings, tattoos, and rag tag attire. Not that their service was bad, nor did they have attitude.

I know, I know, ....... I sound like a spoiled stuck up snotty child.

Some people may say that it is down to earth and has character, but this is not really the type of atmosphere that I like, that's all.

A casual and comfortable joint to have a drink with friends.  Their drink prices are more than reasonable and they offer pretty decent pub food as well.

Hip without being intimidating, casual yet wrapped in wood panelling, leather and crystal (as in chandelier), the Five Point is a great place to take your hunny and share some delicious food.

If I lived closer by, I'd probably come here a lot more often. As it stands, whether it's hanging out on their patio on a summer evening or in a cozy booth with a tall glass of Grasshopper and some BBQ pulled pork poutine, I just like the joint.

If you walk down Main Street, eventually, on some sunny day, you will find yourself at The Five Point. Why? Because it has one of those great street facing patios that exist so rarely around Vancouver.

Service is reliable and the beer selection varies from drink all day to something that's actually interesting. The food is similar pub fare. I've had a burger here long ago but remember nothing about it. Recently I tried the Pulled Pork Poutine. I'm an Ottawa boy...I miss my poutine! And pulled pork, who doesn't love pulled pork! It should have been a stellar combination. Unfortunately, they went overboard with the pulled pork and underwhelmed with the gravy so it was a lopsided fusion (FYI The Whip does a phenomenal pulled pork poutine).

I'll be back to the Five Point, but serendipitously and not out of any real need to go there. If you're standing outside, go in right now.

This bar is a cool hangout on Main Street.  It was an absolutely gorgeous evening so my boyfriend and I met a friend here.  We sat on the patio, which was a bit small but still great.  I tried the Five Point Sangria, which was really good and had huge chunks of strawberries, lemons, and limes.  My boyfriend and his friend had mojito's, which they said were fantastic.  Since we weren't super hungry, we ordered the dry ribs (which were on special) and calamari for appetizers.  Both appetizers were great.  We finished off with a round of beer.  This place has a great beer selection and the beer is reasonably priced.

The service here was really good as well.  I would definitely come here again.

Not your typical pub/bar.  A friend of mine suggested this pub when we figured out where to eat.  Most pubs that i've been to usually is a bit run down, as a little smell that lingers.  I still don't know what to associate that lingering smell with.  Maybe someone could tell me. It's not cigarette smokes or body odor.  Anyways, getting off topic.  This pub had typical pub food but they up it a notch by make it a bit like fine dining.  I even had wine at the pub!!

i still can't get over how the food was served and presented.  I would like to go back and try a burger and wings!

It's a great place to watch the game.  The place is a bit dark for a pub.  A tad bit more lighting would be nice.

I was definitely disappointed here - nothing terrible or even that bad but the restaurant has a ton of potential that it's not living up to.  The same owners run the Charlatan which is a really fun pub on Commercial.

The 5 Point had some good looking menu items but everything that came to the table wasn't that great, pretty meh.  Plus it took us well over 45 minutes to get our food, pretty sure the waitress forgot about us but we had drinks and didn't complain...but we could tell that the meals weren't super fresh as some food was definitely luke-warm to cool in temperature.

It was sun run sunday so the wait staff was obviously very busy and been having a long morning but they dropped our napkin rolls on the floor (and didn't offer to pick them up), they spilled water next to the table which splashed up and got us wet and they didn't even offer an apology.

Definitely a lot of potential - one more great kitchen staff member and some more training for wait staff and it could be a great vancouver hang out.

I went there Wednesday to meet up with a few of my ladies for some mid week girl time, and apparently on Wednesdays they have a burger and beer special for $14!  ANY burger and beer - or Strongbow which pleases me much since I don't like most beer.

The atmosphere was dimly lit and cozy - I really like the renovations.  There were so many different little table spaces, all very comfortable looking.  We were seated rather centrally with a couch and low table much more suited to drinks than eating a burger, so I had to eat off my lap.  Not my favorite way to eat out, but fine.

The tuna burger was fabulous!  Seasoned nicely and just lightly seared, just the way I like it.  I had a bite of my friend (Nicole F's) vegge burger and it was really good!  It was clearly made in-house(if it wasn't I want to know where I can get more) and really tasty.  Not at all in the fake-meat way (which is also good) but it was kind of like a really seasoned hummus formed into a patty and grilled.  And with a healthy portion of guacamole!  Very good - I'll likely order it next time!

Although our meal was good, it ended poorly.  All of a sudden the waitress reached through us and pulled down a screen RIGHT AT OUR TABLE with no warning, and all of a sudden hockey was happening right in our faces and thundering through the entire place so we couldn't even hear each other anymore.  On top of that, everyone was staring our way.  We asked if we could switch tables, but she said they were completely full.  We all would have really appreciated some notice so we could have moved earlier.  Not EVERYONE in Vancouver knows the freaking hockey schedule.  Boo.  We left and relocated somewhere without sports.

I joined some of my girl friends here for drinks last week on Wednesday night.

We were seated in this interesting couch section with a long coffee table in between us. I liked it a lot, although we were not warned that a hockey game would be showing later on and we felt pretty awkward as the waitress wedged in past us to pull down a big screen so people could watch the game. Once the game started it felt as though the entire restaurant was staring at us because the screen was in between our heads.  Plus, the music stopped and the game was blaring. Along with the commercials... Uncomfortable....

Everything was fine up until this point when we decided to get the bill and go somewhere else.

They do the burger and beer special for $14 on Wednesdays. So I ordered the veggie burger (vegan patty if anyone is interested!) and added cheddar to that. It was pretty good. I didn't know what I'd be getting but it was definitely full of chick peas!  It wasn't remotely mushy or gross, nor was it overcooked. It was perfectly crispy on the outside and held itself up well on the inside. I could actually tell the difference between the patty and the bun! The fries were decent, nothing to write home about.

We went for brunch here this weekend and it was just ..Ok. The hollandaise sauce was mediocre and very sparsley added to my spinach benny. The potatoes were good though.. My companions each had the regular breakfast and my wife loved the sausage but wasn't too happy with the eggs and hash.

We seemed to finish quickly due to the tiny portions but we weren't ready to end our conversation so we stuck around for a bit and the waitress seemed to want us to move along.. Was it because we didn't order any alcohol? Who knows. I just got a cold feeling at the end although our server was really quite nice.

I'm giving it 3 stars because it was definitely a 2.5 star visit but I know I'd like it more if I had a ceasar with my meal.

I took my dad here a week ago for a late lunch. We both had hamburgers. It's been over a week and he still won't stop talking about how great they are. Something about this garlic sauce they put on it. I hear it words off vampires and anyone who wants to kiss you. But it's delicious!

The cesars were on special for $3.50. Not a huge fan of bloody marys but my friend swore to me I must try one. It was alright but who ever was behind the bar that day put too much hot sauce in mine. At least it killed the garlic breath. Now I can burn things with my breath. Rowr I'm a dragon!!!!

The french fries are awesomely delicious! I wanted more! Maybe next time I'll just order a bucket size. Now if only they had bucket size fries so I'll just settle for the side order kind they serve.

The bar is packed during any type of game but there are tons of hot dudes to stare out. I hope they never find out my secret. I only come to stare at the hot guys. I could give a rats ass about tennis. But I will be there for football and hockey season :)

The only flaw to this place: Bad service.

I know a lot of people consider the five point a solid 'go to' bar. My friends that live or work in the area will always suggest it as a place to go when we're deciding where to meet up for drinks and bites. The funny things is, it's not that great. And the only reason it keeps getting suggested is that it's a pub, it plays the game, and it's close by.

Now don't get me wrong, the five point isn't bad, but in a city where copy cat bars are almost easier to fall into than a Starbucks, the five point could've been so much more.

It has a prime Main Street location, a great patio (something the city doesn't have enough of) and a decent taps selection. So why the mean juice?

It's boring. The servers are ho-hum, not mean, but not friendly either. The bar is dark, but not a cool dark, just a 'we decided to paint everything black' dark. The food is pretty boring. With everything from burgers to thai curries, to wings on the menu it seems like it should be a hit...but they are all mediocre. I would suggest they pick a few things and do it right.

Finally, if you're ever there for a meeting or a chat with your mates and have the unfortunate luck of encountering a live band...just leave. You can't hear a thing in the place once the music is playing.

They need to decide what they want to be, a live music beer hole (fine by me!), a solid bar with solid beer, a sports pub, or a summer time feeling grill. Right now, it's just a mess of in-between.

I came here on a Monday evening nicely motivated to eat.

Domestic draught was on special for 4$ a sleeve, and the GI honey lager had switched over to GI Winter Ale, which was awesome. Appies were also 3 for the price of 2, so that worked well for us. We split the calamari, edamame, and the antipasto plate. The edamame was awesomely seasoned, with sesame seeds and chili flakes. So good. The other appies were also good.

Service was pretty good, but a tad on the slow side, maybe because we were tucked away in a corner. I found it odd that they put us there when there were other tables open. Their credit/debit machine was also being super slow and lost the connection so many times that I ended up paying cash. Probably not their fault, but annoying none the less. The total for the three appies and a few beers for 2 people was around 50$.

Bottom line: If you go, get the edamame.

Went to the Five Point to grab some grub and watch the game. They have a large projection screen TV as well as 3 other flat screens.
It's quite a popular place so it tends to be loud.
Our server was really nice, checking with the kitchen on what items are gluten free for me.
The big guy had the burger and beer special for 14 bucks, not a bad deal. I had an appy of short ribs and a glass of red. (Barefoot).
    Not bad overall.
Not outstanding either, but not bad.
They have that bonus patio out front for warm days and Main is always fun.

2.5 Stars - After an exhausting day of shoe shopping......... a tired group of girls needed food.. and we decided to go the Five Point. The lighting was dim... with a giant red chandelier, from what I can remember - bar on one side with large TVs and a few banquettes, and a dining room that was just full. The waitress was not too accommodating with seating our group of 5 in a 4 person table, but we were willing to negotiate with her to ensure that we were abiding by the restaurant's safety rules.. Menus took a long time to arrive - thank goodness our waitress was cheerful and polite.

It was 3.80 Sleeves on Sunday so I ordered a strong bow and gulped it down like water!... and aside from that there was a special for nicoise salad - $8.00 only! (REALLY?) So I had to get that.... food didn't take long to come and when I received my salad, there were Tonnes of tuna. I don't know if I would necessarily call it a nicoise salad, but maybe more a seared tuna chunk salad with some potatoes, beans and overload of olives. It was definitely filling and worth every penny.... but I cannot expect too much considering this is a pub.... I was still satisfied...I'm only giving it 2 on the board only because I didn't think the food listed on the menu was the proper representation of what was actually served. Good deal none the less, and tasty... but there's my two cents!

The lighting wasn't really my thing, so I may have to reconsider trying this place again.. maybe only if I was super starving.

This is a great spot for either a quick meal with some friends or a lazy afternoon drinking beer people watching on the patio...great beer on tap...great location...decent service...what more could you want from a pub??

I watched the CFL playoff with my sister here recently and had a great time...we bonded with some fellow Rough Rider fans...hard to come by in this city...and enjoyed the game on a big screen while drinking great beer and eating burgers...this is as butch as I will ever get!

Five Point is the place I go to to have a drink while waiting for a table at Toshi's.  I've never actually had food there until last week when I thought I would pass out from starvation before a table at Toshi's was ready.

It's your general bar restaurant with bar food.  They have wing specials on Tuesdays for 50 cents a wing.  I've never had it, but have seen people eat it and they look pretty darn good.

Drinks are decent,  servers very friendly.

We ordered the crab and shrimp stuffed mushrooms last time for a quick nibble and wasn't very impressed with the portion size.  The mushrooms itself were quite tasty.

There's a little patio outside which is nice on sunny days.

Great little bar.  Two great TVs at the bar (about 10 seats) to watch sports, and a good amount of tables outside.  This is probably more of a summer place.

Bartender was super friendly and talkative, and so were the local boozers.  Had a great time here tonight.

I was going to get a picture of the week specials, however I didn't remember... soo.... 25 cent wings on Thursday (Tuesday?) and we had a special beer for the day from Granville (Wednesday).  OK they obviously liquored me up.  I believe it's Bellini Thursdays as well, for $5.75.  I will have to update with a picture later.

I guess it's been a while since I have been in to the Five Point, cuz this place has been renovated. Say goodbye to the dim-lit red chandelier, in the middle of the room, and say hello to a giant crystal one along with wooden booths, making this place look like a brightly lit 70's diner. I prefer the dim-lit look to my Sunday hangover breakfast spots, thus reducing the need for sunglasses in the restaurant. The renos are not exactly my cup of tea in terms of decor, but I'm sure some people like it.

I had the vegan/veggie burger with fries and a side of garlic mayo, and I threw some cheese on that burger, not even knowing how dry it would taste without it. The burger needed some help for sure, the only sauce on it was a small dollop of guacamole, which didn't really add anything to the flavour of the burger. I couldn't finish it because there was not enough water in the world to wash it down, good thing I wasn't dehydrated from the night before.

The fries were okay, I almost ate all of them, but I ran out of mayo, and really if you need a second side of mayo, you probably need an hour at the gym to go with it. The saving grace was the cesar (doubles are on special on Sundays for $6) and they do these up nice and spicy, garnished with a fat green olive, banana pepper and slice of lemon. Perhaps next visit I will stick to a liquid breakfast, or try the eggs.

We were looking for a bite to eat in the early evening after some shopping on Main Street. The Five Point called to us. It's a pub menu, but with some flare to make the usual burgers and fries a little more fancy. I chose soup to pair with my tuna burger, but it was pretty flavourless and left me wishing I'd gone for crispy fries.

Even though we were there early, it was pretty busy which resulted in slow service. I'd go back, but for drinks instead of a meal. It's got a fun pub atmosphere and attracts a laidback crowd.

it's a standard bar, striving to be a bit more upscale than Foundation et. al, but definitely not anything to get excited about.  Patio is a nice perk, and some decent weeknight specials.  But again, nothing to get excited about...

Mussels are good, fries are excellent! But 1 slice of baguette for a $15 order of mussels?  c'mon, who are you to judge my carb intake!? Make it 2 slices, hm?

Nachos suck.  Poutine is little (but that's a city-wide issue, not isolated to here). Antipasti plate looked decent.

$16 Pitchers, $5 Pints, pretty standard booze/wine prices.  Interesting that they have Bellinis.

Might go back for their $12 Burger+Beer night.

Oh, and their website is useless and annoying.  Tryhard designy-ness is for hipsters, not restaurants trying to attract customers.  (Oh but wait, the restaurant thinks it's a hipster, so...)

If you wanna watch the game, flirt with pretty servers, stay and enjoy the patio.  If you want solid food and a more interesting menu, head next door to Burgoo (which I would have, if not for lack of patio space).

A friend and I stopped here for a bite to eat last night and was greeted at the door by a sign saying that they were currently "under construction" but still open.  There were no obvious signs of construction going on while we were there, but we were informed by the server that because of the construction they were offering a special of any burger/sandwich platter plus a pint of beer for $14 (that worked out to about $1 for the beer!)

The server was very attentive and friendly and it was nice to be able to walk into a pub and still have a conversation without being bombarded by music/tv noise!

I've been here before and have definitely had better food on previous occassions.  The chicken clubhouse I ordered had overcooked bacon and not enough sauce. But the recommended tomato soup was delicious (and even had a melted piece of cheese on top). I love cheese so that just made the whole meal!

Overall I would recommend this place even though the food was mediocore this time.

Having spent the day nursing a massive hangover, spying on model-makers (oh how I love to watch them paint their tiny replicas of Godzilla!) and generally screwing around at Vancouver Comicon in Heritage Hall, some friends and I decided to hit up the 5 Point for a few beer and some eats before heading home. I haven't spent much time there in a few years although I do recall that I stopped going specifically because it always seemed like there was some sort of extremely loud sporting event being watched, and I can't enjoy a drink if I have some yahoo cheering a basket-score or a touchrun or whatever in my ear.

This particular evening however the place seemed relatively quiet and we were able to commandeer a table for our party of 8. Our waitress promptly came by to get our drink order, I opted for a Trad, which is as good a beer as you are likely to find if you want to sip on something while you argue over whether Vince Coletta was a shitty inker (he was) and trade convention titty bar stories. I also elected to order the flatbread, honestly it didn't look super appealing, but I had already eaten a veggie burger that day and wasn't in the mood for a salad so my options were somewhat limited. And although it did arrive in a timely manner, the food itself was lacklustre. My flatbread seemed store bought and the hummous and chilli I selected as dips weren't memorable. Also, I ran out of bread halfway through although our ever present waitress was there to offer me some more to finish off with. I asked around and the consensus on food landed squarely in the "okay, nothing special" camp.

As we finished our meal, my friend produced some of his homemade gambling devices and emboldened by our libations we proceeded to start slamming loonies and toonies on the table, hooting and hollering and generally making a small spectacle of ourselves. I noted that although the staff were clearly aware that we were openly gambling in their establishment and probably in contravention of several liquor laws, they made no move to stop us and the shenanigans were permitted to continue for quite some time. I had thought that my winnings would handily pay for my tab, imagine my surprise when my so-so flatbread and two pints came to $26! I had also been charged an additional $1.25 for my top up of flatbread, which begs the questions: if the bread is so cheap then why was the meal as a whole so expensive? Bosh and flimshaw I say.

With slightly better food options and maybe a nice cheap beer special on Sundays I could see wiling away more time at the 5 Star, the service was pleasant and efficient and minus a sporting event the atmosphere is quite pleasing. Until then however it'll probably  remain a very occasional visit out of convenience.

My boyfriend and I went here the other night for a quite date night dinner. We drove around for what seemed like hours because I was starving, but didn't know what I was in the mood for. Finally it hit me... PUB FOOD!  I mentioned wanting bar type food so he suggested we go here. I'm so stoked we did. It was a tuesday and they have 50 cent wings and 15 traditional pitchers of beer as their special, so we got that. HOLY SHIT BALLS! The wings were huge and so delicious! We got Hot, Guinness BBQ, and Salt and Pepper wings. The BBQ was a little too sweet for my taste, but still tasty. The Salt and Pepper wings were perfectly cooked to a desirable crisp, oh my god, sooooo gooooood! The service was great and I liked the lighting in there. Also we got a Pulled Pork BBQ sandwich and seeing as how I lived in the southern US for quite some time, i know a thing or two about pulled pork BBQ sands, and this one impressed me greatly! It was so bomb! The bbq sauce they use for it, again a little too sweet for me, but it was still good. The pork was  cooked to perfection! I highly recommend this fuckin' place! Yeeeee!

I don't understand the appeal of a bar where the waiters and bartenders are too cool to serve you. I've been here a handful of times and never really liked it. When they have live music there is no room to sit, and on the weekends its way too crowded (and I don't understand why). I tried to bring a date here once and left pretty quickly because we just were not feeling it.
It might just be me but there is definitely nothing special about this place.

Second visit within a week to watch hockey game. Service is quick and attentive.  Many servers whisk by to take orders   Nice place. Like the wood and fancy chandelier adds some elegance :)  no idea what this places name is referring to but interested to know. Writing if bar is in old English lettering so maybe a reference to the old country?  Food here is fairly good for a pub!  I'm impressed :) I ordered the tuna tatski appie and it was just the perfect portion.  Dig the daily specials for both food and drinks.

A great local hang. Friendly staff, good selection of beers on tap (I like the Sleeman Honey Brown), and decent food (great burgers!) Fun place to go watch a hockey game, and friendly to kids as well.

3 Star for the pub, +1 Star for the atmosphere during Canucks games!

Interesting room - well decorated.  The place is usually pretty busy, but really there isn't much else in the area as far as bars go.  The food is mediocre - I've unfortunately gone back too many times hoping it'd be better only to be let down.

If you are looking for a noisy place with lots of people drinking lots of beer and possibly watching a hockey game then this is the place... If you're looking for a place to take your significant other for a meal then you probably want to go up the street to Locus.

I'm a regular here and yup my first review... but good timing since they just finished a remodel and good one at that, all wood walls and they kept that giant old chandelier in the middle, the new look has a old yacht feel to it  or perhaps it could be a very retro 1950 downtown gentleman's club full of lovely ladies... My fav dish is the tuna bites.

I was very excited to find out that the poutine here is vegetarian. It's pretty darn tasty too!
