This store reels me in whenever I go to WEM.
The selection of rods, reels, and lures is very good. But that does not set the Fishin' Hole apart; Canadian Tire and even Wal-Mart (good gracious) have decent tackle selection.
What sets The Fishin' Hole apart? Customer service and specialized fishing gear. I enjoy fly-fishing and this is one of the "go to" places for a fly fisherperson in Edmonton. Especially when it comes to the best kept fishing secret- fly fishing for pike. -

Because I bought a crappy fishing reel and rod combo at Canadian Tire, I needed to get a real rod that actually worked properly. I decided to try The Fishin' Hole, since they seem to be the experts in fishing merchandise.
I was looking at the reels, and I really had no idea which ones were good. All I knew is that I didn't want to spend more than $50. I asked one of the employees for help, and he was really nice and extremely helpful. He told me which models are best and which ones would be good for just fishing once and a while. He was kind of good looking and had Southern accent, so I wasn't really listening, but I sort got an idea of what I would need. He was really honest with me and told me which reels have been returned the least, so that's the one I went with.
The reel was awesome and worked great. I have bought a few other things here, like hooks, but I prefer to get these things at Canadian Tire, because they are slightly cheaper there.
