A historic fixture of Ottawa, the fish market has reached landmark status.
The aura and atmosphere of the place makes you know instantly you are somewhere special. While I'm not a huge fish-eater, it is hard not to appreciate the quality and breadth of the market.
For appetizer's, the baby shrimp cocktail or the Norwegian Salmon slices are great to share with a group of friends.
The choice of Cajun fish is suprisingly good, with the Halibut Creole being a personal favourite, as it has a spicy kick that is soothing to the taste-buds.
For a big group, check out the Maritime Platter ($50), which literally has a bit of everything; a fresh whole lobster, fresh sea scallops, jumbo tiger shrimp, alaskan queen crab legs.
