Part of a chain of good pubs serving American style burgers & other pub grub. Popular with students, they also do Ladies Nights on Thursdays with special offers on cocktails.

This is like a bar come restaurant. It is very trendy and I have always had great experiences here and I love to go. Not being the only one however, as it can get very busy.
There is a great night a week where you get buy one get one free on cocktails which were amazing and the food is great also.
The serving staff were lovely and can have some great jokey banter going on with them.

Fat Cat Café Bar is often criticized for being far too trendy for its own good. Personally, I refute this allegation and think it's a sound bar. It does get very busy, like most places in Bangor, on a Friday or Saturday night. I also believe it was the first venue in Bangor to serve Hoegarden whether this fills you with joy or a queasy dread, is entirely your business. The outdoor area of Fat Cat is well laid out and the seating is nice. However, it is facing into the wind and the wind can be bitterly cold at times. Just like my feelings about Hoegarden.

The Fat Cat is situated towards the top of the High Street.

It's considered to be quite a trendy bar, and is suited to the slightly more mature drinker in Bangor. Fashion conscious twenty somethings through to middleaged couples out for a meal and a glass or two of wine.

The food is generally of a high standard. For lunchtime meals you can usually drop in and just ask to be seated. In the evenings, especially at the weekend, it would be sensible to book in advance.

The cafe bar offers a range of hot drinks and non alcoholic juices throughout the day, along with the usual alcoholic drinks you'd expect from most bars. Cocktails can be made up on request, there's a wide range of spirits and liquers on hand so you're unlikely to be disappointed. At the weekends the basement bar opens, here there's a dedicated cocktail bar, plush seating, and some casual house or jazz music playing.

There's a sizeable outside area to the rear, up on the balcony and down in the partio area. This area is suitable for smokers, and food can be served there in the summer.

The Fat Cat costs a little more than other bars in the area, but it'd generally considered to be worth it. Don't even try going in wearing sportswear, or a baseball cap. Also, if you're underage, the door staff will see you on your way before you even thinking of stepping foot inside.

This is always a safe bet. Often very busy. I like the mixture of lunchtime, tapas, bar and social meeting point about the place.

Love this place. They've got a gorgeous balcony area and a great downstairs cocktail bar - went there recently to catch up with some old school friends and we had a great evening there. Prices are a bit expensive but not ridiculously so.

I have enjoyed a few good meals at the fat cat, i have to say the drinks and food are rather expensive, but the staff are very helpful and friendly, on one occassion we had a hair in the food, but the staff did not charge for that meal.

I have to say that I am rarely disappointed going to the Fat Cat. The food they cook is above average, albeit a little on the pricey side. The service is above average and staff are generally very pleasant. There is a nice ambience to the bar - drinks are slightly abover average but they have a good choice of draught lagers, wine etc.
