In 1910, the Lynn Valley Street Car line came to an end at the top of Lynn Valley Road, and a small shack offered groceries and refreshments to sightseers and hikers heading out on the trails of Mount Seymour. Nearly 100 years later, The End of the Line General Store continues to serve visitors, including hikers and bikers, though the street car stopped running in 1947 (the location is still the end of the line for Lynn Valley bus #228 out of Lonsdale Quay).
You'll find basic grocery items, specialty foods and old-fashioned penny candy. You can sit in the garden patio to savour lattes and old-fashioned ice cream cones from a coffee and deli bar. The store sells local art work, giftware, tablecloths and such clothing as t-shirts that announce you have been to the end of the line. You can even rent a bike at The General Store and go out to explore the nearby trails!Listed in: Coffee Crazy
