Really like coming here for last minute company lunches.  The food is typical pub food, with a good selection, and hefty portion sizes.  Beer selection isn't that great for "an English-style pub" though.  It can also get pretty noisy when this place gets packed.  The lighting is really low, with no windows since it is the basement of the PATH.

They have an excellent patio in the summer.  I love coming here after work to grab a beer with friends and watch people rush to their Go Trains.

It's a pub folks!  Come here for standard pub fare squared away underground in the TD Towers portion of the P.A.T.H.  It's spacious, and a regular haunt for lawyers, consultants, engineers, bankers... everyone who needs to let the hair down after a long hard work day in the area towers.

My only beef is that I was sold on the deep-fried pepperoni based on the menu picture, and the product was really nothing like it.  Bait and switch!  Otherwise, not much to say except that it has a nice selection of random beers.  Cheers!

The Duke of Devon does what it should do.  It appears to be British.  It has a good run of taps.  It has a menu consistent with others in the franchise, and is clean and has friendly staff.  So there's nothing truly bad to say about it.

What it does lack is a sense of character that some of the others in the Duke collective seem to have.  The others such as the Duke of Kent (http://www.yelp.ca/biz...) and, until it got eaten up by condo development, the Duke of Argyle had somehow captured some local flavour.  No such luck with the Devon.  Now, admittedly, the Devon is found underneath one of the TD towers on the PATH where at any given time, you'll see it swamped with guys in ties and collars with Blackberries clipped to their belts and women in dress that can best be described as "office professional".  As I think of this, maybe it has captured the local flavour.  Maybe that's why I'm not that keen.

Visited on a quick exploration of downtown. Good beer selection, and good portions. Had the queso dippers (similar to mozzorella sticks but with queso cheese) and curry bowl (curry roll and samosa). Good service but felt out of place with the buisness crowd, financial district was shutting down for the day.  Otherwise, we'll be back again.

Great place to be for St-Patty's!!! Irish car bombs, baby!!!

The bangers and mash was decent. I've had better in London, but this is as good as it gets here in TO.

The service was good the first time, but not the second time.... It gets really busy at lunch so the waitress was disgruntled when we paid with our credit cards... Oh well, that's all we had!!

I took my Scottish friends here and the first thing they said was, "the name is English but why are the waitresses wearing kilts?" Good point but what whatever. It's busy but who wants to drink alone?? Chances are you will see everyone who you have ever worked with in an awkward or embarrassing situation but that's really what builds lasting friendships isn't it? Drink here. They will take care of you.
