CLOSED! Or at least that's what I read. I even tried calling and no connection.
That's a bummer, I really loved this place and planned on visiting anytime I came back to Winnipeg. It's hard to find nice places like this that are reasonably priced, but then again, when we went, even on Saturday's it was rather slow :(
They will be missed. -
Review from Michael O.

I dined with my wife and another couple at The District a few weeks ago on a Saturday night. The District was the old Liberty Grill. The decor is very nice with the high ceilings, and beautiful architecture. The atmosphere was very upscale and trendy. It reminds me of the second floor of Hy's dining room.
For appetizers I had the scallops which were amazing. For entree I had the ribeye steak, and it was cooked to perfection. This was one of the best steaks I have had in quite a while. My wife had a fish entree, and would not stop raving about it. The service was just as good as the food. They were very knowledgeable about the menu, and offered good advice. The prices were very reasonable for the quality of food, and the atmosphere.
The funny thing about this restaurant is how empty it was for a Saturday night. We had 6:30pm reservations, and the place was empty. By the time we left it was close to 9pm, and there were a total of two other tables the entire time.
I had the occasion of returning for lunch during the week. I had a double roasted tomato bisque, and it was the best tomato bisque I ever had. The sandwich wrap was equally good. The food, service and atmosphere for lunch matched my dinner experience. Once again the restaurant was not very busy.
I can't say enough good things about this restaurant so I am at a loss to explain why it was so empty. They definitely deserve a visit.Listed in: Restaurant Club
