The Diner is the type of place you want to like as soon as you see it. The outside is modern and appealing, as is the interior. Still, I can't give this place a great review.
It's not a bad place for breakfast or brunch, but it isn't anything special either.
The food is, well, not bad. You would think being in the Westboro area the quality of the food would be a big focus since customers are paying more for each item and many of the customers are yuppies who don't put up with sub-par food. I've been there numerous times and I have had good meals, and just plain bad meals. The food also lacks imagination. They do a few twists here and there, but it isn't anything that keeps you coming back.
It's a big place, with two floors, so getting a seat doesn't often take too long. It gets really busy and a wait should be expected, but it is usually closer to 10 minutes than an hour.
The service differ es widely. I've had good servers who are on the ball and others who dint' know their ass from their elbow.
I would say if you're driving by, give it a shot, but don't make a special trip.
