Very good addition to kits pub scene. Decent food, good atmosphere, good selection, and very nice with board games. Only drawback for me is that tv screens generally makes pubs less cozy, and this place definitely has plenty of tv screen. But overall very good place to go!

Last resort for a drink in Kitsalano! Pretty dissapointed with the atmosphere.one of those places you walk into and everyone stares you down at the door! Saw a lot of old men and it was quiet! there really was nothing to draw a person in there.
And the beer is in glasses not Pint glasses. So therein it's a little pricey. I do not recommend it at all! -

This is a very decent neighbourhood pub. Apparently they recently went through some renovations, and it shows -- the interior is very nice. They have a few microbrews on tap (I had the Naramata Nut Brown, from Cannery Brewing out of Penticton, BC. It was on special tonight, for $4.55 for a pint).
I also had a poutine, which was allegedly "Montreal style". I am from Montreal, so I can tell you with confidence that this was definitely not true. Nonetheless, it tasted fine, but it was a little on the pricey side ($8.95 for a small plate. I wouldn't expect to pay more than $6 for the same thing elsewhere, although for some reason poutine is often expensive in this city. I wonder if the Liberals have placed some secret tax on cheese curds or something). My friend had the chicken fingers and I'd have to say the portion was pretty small for the price.
Monday nights are usually trivia night (unless there's a hockey game). Our team tied for the win tonight, so we got $30 off our bill. I'm not going to take all the credit... but you can't spell "team" without "me", now, can you. I'm just saying. -

As a disclaimer, I've only ever actually been here for brunches and the brunch redeems this place greatly. The Cove itself is nothing too special, especially not when you compare it to the selection of pubs and restaurants throughout Kits. The place itself is relatively nice, but the atmosphere is strange. Very quiet, very reserved. At times you could probably hear a pin drop if it wasn't for them playing the annoying "The Bird's The Word." Felt like anyone could hear your conversation. Service was adequate, but nothing too special. It never seemed like they were too thrilled to be serving us. But like I said, if you go for the brunch you should be relatively pleased. They serve a pretty good, filling plate of eggs benny and hashbrowns, and if you order a side of bacon it is usually nice and crispy. It does the trick if the other, better brunch places in Kits are too busy.

Well-priced, low-keyed but not low-brow, good place to eat, drink and watch the game. The previous occupant of the space, Jeremiah's, was a neighbourhood institution that just needed some refreshing...but lo' & behold, The Cove came in and completely transformed things.
This place is now a definitive sports bar with ten (or more?) TV's in addition to the dropdown projection screen. They play sound for the games (far too many places don't play the sound), although on one occasion they were torn with half the bar wanting football and the other half yelling to bring back the hockey sound...
The food is sports bar gourmet: bison burger with blue cheese is great, southwest sandwich is also very good, salads look hearty & healthy, as do the soups. Alcohol is relatively cheap, and often they have fun surprise deals--the waitress came to our table with flashcards that had the names of NHL players who were playing that night and asked us each to pick a card. If the player we drew scored a point, we got a free pitcher. We ended up getting a free pitcher! Great way to earn customer loyalty.
The servers are very nice and fun but their actual service is awful. Four of us, ordering only beer and wine, waited over 25 minutes for it to arrive--on four separate visits to The Cove! On the fifth visit we were with a group of ten, so delays and issues with the bill will be nearly inevitable. I'm still giving 3 stars because of the food, décor/tv's and the fact that it's in a great location. -

The Cove, formerly Jeremiah's, cleaned up its act and added some new fun things. Went tonight for Monday Quiz Night at 8pm. The questions were more my intellectual level (pretty low) but I still couldn't answer most of the questions. In any case, you don't have to be there for all 3 rounds, but you have better chances of winning "keys" which may or may not open the box o' cash that is the grand prize of the night, along with a jug of beer. I think they also have Tuesday night karaoke? But I'm not into that so I hope a fellow Yelper can review it for me.
I wonder what happy hour is like at this place? I forgot to mention that the pool table upstairs is gone, replaced by nice-looking tables and chairs. Food was pretty good, better than I remember from the last place. -

Great neighborhood pub! Good food, good drink selection, good service. Diverse crowd and for the sports fanatics there are many (6 or more I think) large screens showing various sporting events.

Decent food, decent beer selection, good service and great Canucks game viewing on one of the numerous flat screens
