This store has a corner dedicated for bakers with an array of cupcake liners (including unbleached) to tickle anyone's fancy. But really, over-priced cupcake liners? Does that deserve a 5-star rating? No. Calling ahead ready to admit defeat in an odd and desperate search for heart-shaped pancake rings only to be told there is one left and if I wanted, they would set it aside for me, is what earned the 5th star.

Friendly customer service is hard to come by these days and this place has a warmth when you are first greeted into the store as well as staff that are very knowledgeable and willing to help.

From time to time, they will also have product demonstrations and they also offer knife classes - which is more than a domestic goddess can ask for in a kitchen store! I used to try this store last after I looked to the other known stores of the same genre... The Cook's Place is definitely my trusted go-to kitchen supply store before I bother with the others... ummm, hello... they ACTUALLY had the heart-shaped pancake rings!

The Cook's Place is one of the most aptly named stores I think I've ever visited.  This is a place for people who love being in the kitchen.  My skill in the kitchen is somewhat limited but I watch a lot of Food Network TV so I know good stuff when I see it.  In this store I saw at least four different types of thermometers, knives up the ying yang and more spoons than you could shake a fork at.  The store itself is warm and homey and feels like the kitchen during a family gathering.  The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and seem to really like what they're doing and have a wish to help you.  I would recommend this store to all the Food TV junkies out there as well as all the people who are actually good at cooking, this is a great store for you.

The Cook's Place literally has anything and everything you could ever want or need for your kitchen and/or cooking. I mean *everything*! They are slightly higher in price, but their customer service and sheer plethora of items available more than make up for the price, not to mention, you're supporting a local business, which you should do!

I've been to quite a few kitchen stores and I honestly don't think I've ever seen anything like the Cook's Place. It rawks!

My garlic smasher, I have found thee!  I bought this garlic smasher in Boston at a specialty kitchen store, and went back for another one and they were GONE! O the tragedy! But we were walking past The Cook's Place and they had one IN THE WINDOW!!!

    Toronto to the rescue!

the cooks place on the danforth had many items from which to choose and they were very knowledgeable about the benefits of their products.  they seemed to be on par with any other kitchen store that was not mainstream and catered to folks interested in having extra accessories to make their cooking, cleaning, preparing, baking and freshness made easier and better.

perhaps you might want to decorate your caesar salad with only parmesan cheese and not little bits of plastic from your cheap cutting board shaved away with the knife you used to shave a little of the reggiano.  in this case you might pick up a cutting board made of the same material used for skateboarders ramps.  now thisll cost you on average about 65 bucks, but it might be just worth it for longevity and health.

or perhaps youve had to switch from ladle to wooden spoon to chopstick in order to scoop out, stir and fold in all the ingredients you are using.  well then, you might decide to rediscover the definition of a spoonlike tool by buying one of the mapleware utensils they sell, which are not only canadian-made, but also of different sizes geared towards common encounters in an active kitchen.

there are many different colour oven mitts, sets of pans, coated and not coated and a barrage of items that are simply there to make things more delectable-looking.

this shop is very useful for its selection and its staff.  they carry certain brands that might be hard to find elsewhere and because its locally owned by one woman and staffed with interested, involved and knowledgeable people you can get the individual attention you need that goes hand in hand with the quality of product and innovation through which youre perusing.
