Five of us went here for Dine Out 2011 and it was so worth the $18! We went on the second to last day and if I had known, I would have made another reservation because it was just that good.

I guess Tuesday aren't a very busy night for them so the sign at the front says to seat yourself. We sat ourselves at a big round table and were quickly greeted by a very friendly server. She brought us our menus and let us decide what to stuff ourselves with... I started with a coke, fountain of course, but good fountain. I even got a refill... she offered me, I didn't even have to ask. For my starter I ordered the baked camembert, my main was the chicken pot pie and for dessert, chocolate cake.

The baked camembert was indeed a small, but whole piece of camembert baked in puff pastry. A WHOLE WHEEL OF CHEESE. Wow. It came with some sliced baguette and it was stellar. The bread was warm, nice and soft and came with butter. D hates butter, I think something is wrong with her. The puff pastry was flaky and held the soft cheese inside. I think I was supposed to cut the cheese (hahahaa, cut the cheese... ahahaa) and put it on the baguette. I ate it with my fork. I shoved every last bit in my mouth. I think the only thing left on my plate was garnish.

The chicken pot pie was yummy. The crust was baked separately from the stew and kept crisp until I smashed them together. The sauce wasn't too heavy and the chunks of chicken were huge. i could not finish it all, the portion was way too big. Mine came with fries, but you could also get salad.

After all that food, there was still more: this chocolate cake was so smooth and rice. It was a dense mousse-y layer with a cake layer. I didn't finish it. The cake bested me. I should have taken it home, but I probably would have just shoved it in my mouth in the parking lot anyhow.

All in all, for $18 this place was awesome. A WHOLE WHEEL OF CHEESE. That needed to be said again. I would definitely come back. The pub food is great and the service was wonderful. Very attentive.

My summer has been spent traveling around the lower mainland of BC for work and eating at numerous different restaurants.  I've got to say, the cioppino here was the 2nd best thing I've eaten the entire time (2nd only to the Italian Kitchen, a completely different restaurant category, I shouldn't even be comparing the two).

The first time I was staying at the Lonsdale Quay Hotel (awesome stay), and my coworker and I were too tired to venture far from the hotel for dinner.  The restaurant doesn't look so impressive from the outside but we were seated outside overlooking the water.  The waitress, both times I've been, was casual and friendly.  The cioppino was under $20 and loaded with scallops, prawns, fish, and mussels!  I'm no expert, but regardless of whether or not it was an authentic cioppino, it was absolutely delicious.  It was so good that we purposely went to North Vancouver again just to have it!  The bread we were given was put to full use, soaking up all the delicious broth at the end of the meal.  The waitress even gave us a second basket of bread, yum!

Located on the second floor of the Lonsdale Quay Market, you would expect this place to be a cheese / wine bar type of place, but its not. As soon as you walk in, you get the feeling of a small hotel bar... but as you walk past the bar, it opens up into restaurant seating and on nice days, outdoor seating along their balcony which overlooks the water.

Luckily for us, the weather was beautiful this past sunday so we wanted to sit outside. The views, the sites and the sounds were perfect for our small snack and drink. I ordered a black and tan to drink, while my wife and sister ordered a lager and lime. My drink was made how its supposed to be made, while the lager and lime was a little overkill on the lime. Almost tasted like a lemonade with a splash of beer... not as refreshing as the drink name sounds. We also ordered the calamari with fries which was VERY good. The fries are real potatoes cut into thick strips...super tasty! Service was quick and friendly and the prices weren't too bad. There were other items on the menu such as burgers, fish and chips, sandwiches, soups, salads, etc but we just wanted to sit back, relax and enjoy the sites and sounds of that area.

If you've been walking around all day and need a place to sit, relax, and grab a cold drink or something to eat, this place is worth checking out.

Decent, but that is the most that I can say. In my few times going to this restaurant the consistent factor was the dreadfully slow service. The prices are decent but the food while edible is particularly bland most of the time.

I just stumbled upon this place, while visiting the Lonsdale public market with a few friends. On a Friday evening the place was full, so we couldn't get the table on the patio, which should have a very nice view of downtown. For appetizer we ordered mushroom caps, filled with crab and three cheese served with baguette, and for main course cheese quesadilla with salsa and sour cream on the side. The food took a while to be served but we were really impressed with the quality and taste. On a side note, one of the things that really surprised us was the age of the people sitting around us, as non of them seemed to be under 60. The servers normally use "guys" when we go out but here we were "boys", so this place doesn't seems to be popular with the younger crowd. But with or without the crowd this place is a must go based on the food.

We were there for brunch, but they also happened to have quite a good selection on the menu. I had the ham and cheese omlette. It was wonderful and we had a nice view out the windows at the water and sky. They also get major points for having StrongBow cider on tap.

I had dinner here the other night, I ordered a caesar salad with chicken.  It was wonderful.  The salad was a great portion size, and the chicken was cut into nice slices.  It looked as good as it tasted.  The waitress was very pleasant and attentive.  I never once felt like I was being ignored.  I had an iced tea to drink, I thought it was overly sweetened (but I tend to like on the unsweetened side of things so that's completely personal taste).  Would certainly go back.
