Been using this hidden gem at least 5 years. Yes, with its location, I am sure it attracts a lot of nearby offices which honestly is fine by me. At least their patronage keeps The Charlotte Room in business. I will agree with its nondescript facade. If you blink and there is no one outside on their tiny patio/slab of concrete, you could walk right by it and not even notice.

I never had a bad experience here. The staff is friendly, there are 7-8+ beers on tap plus other choices via bottle. It is a small quaint place, their back room is cool, with exposed brick and comes with an upright piano in case your the heart is moved you to play.

Very laid back vibe, with a lot of warm accents, it's quiet and with a touch of class.

I do not eat here, simply because their menu strikes me more like snacking menu than an actual meal, plus there are no tables to eat at except for their high and poker tables (yes you can do that here too!). After all, this is a lounge not a restaurant.

Their pool table rental fees are quite higher than let's say Rivoli's so if you do play pool keep an eye on the ticker since it could add up.

As long as this place remains afloat, I am okay for it to remain a hidden gem of a place.

Awesome bar hidden on a small road between Adelaide and King. Very energetic and lively vibe. Crowd is anything but douche bag fest. They are friendly and well-mannered. They don't try too hard to be cool or prove something about themselves. They all look like intelligent people. Or at least people who value academic life. Fair amount of nerds was in the bar as well.

The inside is very clean and well - organized. I looked around the bar, and it seems to have been taken care of really well. Not one part of the bar said "sketchy" to me.

There are several pool tables. Fee is $16 / hour. The server will move all your plates and drinks to your new table if you decide to play pool in the middle of eating.

Food is actually excellent. Nacho was lovely with enough amount of toppings and cheese. Pizza was cooked nicely with thin crust and balanced taste between toppings. Salad was fresh.

The bar has a warm cozy atmosphere with extensive use of wood furnitures and yellow lightings. Walls are decorated with paintings (apparently you can buy them). Even though it doesn't have stand-put characteristics, I enjoyed staying in the bar.

The server was very courteous and accommodating. He was very friendly as well. But service was a bit slow. It took awhile until we got our check.

Overall it is a very nice place to spend your weekend night. It is very clean, food is good, and crowd is fun.

I really like this place. Nice clean pool hall. Good quality tables. Nice micro -brew beer selection on tap and good nachos. Cool atmosphere and friendly staff.

This is a default corporate watering hole for the nearby offices. I struggle to imagine this place like something I could call "my place", or where I would like to invite friends, etc.

Essentially a faceless, tasteless, dark bar. There is a pool table there, oh yes, fun!

No value in ordering food, and the drinks selection is next to nonexistent. You can get Sapporo, or Keith's, or Stella, or Sapporo, or Keith's, or...

"See you at Charlotte's after the meeting, let's chat about that!"

To be completely honest, it bugs me that I don't go here more often, as I always have a dandy time.  The Charlotte Room is tucked away in a side street, Charlotte Street oddly enough, that allows it to have a nice secluded patio away from the majority of traffic.  You enter either from the patio side, or in the winter, through what appears to be an apartment or office building-style lobby area.  The first time you enter it sort of takes you aback.

Once you're in the Charlotte, you're faced with the main reason many go there.  Pool tables.  Several tables wait to be played all in good repair.  The bar at the back is full service and the menu is small and focussed, relying on pub-food faves.  TVs are available to watch sports on in the comfort of comfortable furniture.  It sort of feels like a gentleman's club (not that kind of gentleman's club, thank you, remove your mind from the gutter) for the non-executive type.

There is a side room that is also available for performers of many kinds.  Typically it's open to the likes of poetry readings and the like, but once a month, the Charlotte opens its doors to free stand-up comedy one Saturday out of the month.  I've been lucky enough to be on a few of the shows, and the crowds are always great.  The great response, the food (the nachos, by the way, are a delight), the pool, the room, I should go more than just for the shows.  If you feel like going, call me and I'll get my coat.

The Charlotte Room is a surprisingly big pool hall near King West. It's on a particularly unassuming road, and would be very easy to miss if you were in the area. They had a reasonable selection of beers when I was there, featuring a lot of stuff from local brewer Mill St. I thought their appetizers were good, but it's probably not a place to come for dinner. It's probably a good place for work events and the like, and I suspect a lot of their business comes from the near by offices. I can't think of too many places to play pool downtown, let alone places that aren't sketchy. So this is definitely a place for that.

This is a great spot to come for drinks and play pool.  The food is OK but this would not be a dinner destination.   A great place if you have a large group.  We use this venue for company functions and it is a great casual fun spot.

best poolhall in Toronto by a mile.

great place, always have a really good time there.

the billiard tables are good quality and very nicely spaced apart, nice warm vibe inside the room, menu is solid and the selection of beers on tap is excellent, staff is always very friendly too.
