The Charlatan is Carleton University's student newspaper. It's actually independent from Carleton University Students' Association (CUSA), mostly run by volunteers, and is published by a not-for-profit corporation. An issue comes out every Thursday throughout the school year, except for during exam times and reading week, and monthly during the summer. You can find it all around campus, at some newsstands off campus, and in the hands of students.
They publish pieces of writing, photos, and graphic art by Carleton students only. They also have podcasts, video presentations, other media, blogs, and web issues, which you can find on their website. In addition to Carleton news, they report on both local and national news, community events, and other news in arts and sports. They even have sections for students' opinions and perspectives, which vary quite a bit and even spark some serious debates.
