The cats meow is an "upscale" vintage store. And by upscale I mean they have brand name vintage clothing/accessories that don't even look used. They're pretty much brand new.
    They even have a blog:

    http://www.thecatsmeow...

What initially caught my eye was the window display of dresses that changed so frequently. I thought, I must go in!
And so I went, the lady greeted me, she was very pleasant and friendly. I was able to browse by myself, as there was no one else in the store. I was mesmerized by all the fur that was lined up as soon as you walked in (if you're into PETA don't come..)...they had vintage hermes scarves, shoes, and dresses. They also have designer handbags which they will first advertise on their blog and jewelry.

Why pay $600 for a hermes scarf when you can get one here for 298$? Yes, the prices are still high, but this is not a vintage store in kensington market!

Upscale is not an understatement here.

The dresses tend to start at $595, so unless you have $500 - $600 to drop on dresses, DO NOT come here and be tempted.

I wouldn't really say I'm a fan or that I'd want to come back, ONLY BECAUSE of the prices. I know it's vintage, I know it's 50s clothing, but I just don't have that kind of money, and it's out of the price range of most folks I know.

That said, if you are looking for unique, beautiful, one-of-a-kind vintage pieces, come here. They have a few contemporary items like Diane von Furstenberg wrap dresses that go for a pretty reasonable $150 or less, but otherwise, it is not a shop to just browse in.

The jewellery is also high-end, I saw this gorgeous flower crystal bracelet for... $1600. It's a beautiful, vintage piece but the price reflects it. The clothing definitely does not look used and I was tempted to buy that Chanel knitted sweater for $300 until I slapped myself back to reality.

The good news, is that the items are not in the thousands-of-dollars range, they are still in the half-a-thousand range. :P
