Review from Siri W.
Whoever decided to put an "open-til-midnight" smorgasbord of a candy store next to all the bars - you sly marketing fox you. If there's one thing I want while drunk at midnight on a Friday it's candy - and pizza. Maybe together. But candy first.
This place is just wonderful. Bright, colourful and with every possible kind of candy you could ask for. I get a giddy joy walking in like...well. A kid in a candy store. But a giant kid with money. Which is even better.
The bulk chocolate is my favourite. There is literally chocolate covered anything you can possibly want. Thus - I have found my mecca.
Go! Let your five year old run wild! -

Love this place. It's just a nice change, and so many novel treats that you might not find any where else. Loved the small boxes of candy with smart ass sayings on them. I'm sure you can find one for that special person in your life. They also have a great selection of pez dispensers & NHL stuff, that's fun for your misc desk items. Chocolate covered eggs, with mini hockey sticks in them? Where else but CANADA will you find that?
The staff person here was also super helpful and friendly. Overall a nice little aside when walking down Robson street. -

Are you a foreigner?
Are you sad and hungry about the sorry state of North American chocolate?
Does eating Hersheys make you want to cry tears of calorific regret?
Do you wish to taste the sweet, creamy, chocolatey righteousness of home?
Well, then The Candy Aisle is the place for you!
Shoot, did I forget to ask 'Are you a thousandaire?' Because at $11.50 for a 6 pack of Club bars and 4 snowballs, you would want to be. This store is in my stomping grounds and I've never been in, (because it's a sweet shop and I am a fat kid in a regular shop, I don't need anymore encouragement.)
But I nearly wept tears of milk chocolate desire at the aisle of British treats. Oh how I have missed you, Wispa, Minstrels, Walkers crisps! But, like an early crack addict, one taste of a coconuty snowball and you'll see your pay cheque disappear in a fluffy, marshmallow frenzy. My point, it's pricey. $2.49 for one bar.
They have other sugary, teeth-rot crap too but i have no interest in that.
Bring me an unmarked bag of Wispas or the kitten gets it! -

This is a nice place to visit just for novelty's sake, however I find that the prices tend to be a smidge high (likely due to location and hours of operation). Still, how can one resist the bright lollipop decals smattered across the storefront?
The big downside however is that the cola flavoured mentos I bought from here were STALE! like, teeth-breaking-stale :(
Other than that, the customer service is great and it's fun to explore their bulk section!Listed in: Places that piss off my…

Memories of candy from long past once again savourable. Deutsch liquorice, popeye 'cigarettes' and super fresh black lace licorice are just a few of the available treats...
Wow sugar me up! -

Immediately as I entered The Candy Aisle to a warm and friendly hello, I felt like I had lost 20 years off my life... yup,I have to say it - literally like a kid in a candy store!
Everywhere you turned there were delicious treats enticingly laid out. Every kind of sweet imaginable, chocolates from around the world.... and my favorites - soap flavor gum; chocolate in medicine prescription boxes and flavored crickets. Yup, real flavored crickets...sour cream and chives,
salt and vinegar, mexican spice! and Larvae too if you are that way inclined.
It is also open longer and really convenient hours so you can definitely get there. The perfect place to come for a present or a sweet treat, that is for sure! -

The more you buy, the cheaper it is! I like that they reward my gluttony.
I have been picking through bulk candy since it was a penny each for watermelon slices at the gas stations. I was able to control myself and got only three dollars worth of candy. My friends grabbed a bucket and went nuts for chocolate.
I want the huge gummy bear on a stick beside the cash register. I want it so bad. -

I freakin' love this place.
I always forget about The Candy Aisle and get this stupid kid on Christmas style giddyness every time I "rediscover" it!
Everything is delish, the novelty candy is hilarious and makes easy presents in a pinch!
I am extremely addicted to their cotton candy salt water taffy's, they are a drool enducing dream!Listed in: All Stars!

Um, a candy store open til midnight on a street full of bars?
You're asking for it.
And oh, yes, you got it.
After a night of hittin the bars along this fine strip of life, my girlie and I were cravin some mother-effin wafers.
Hello, Candy Aisle!
This store is amazing, and if you can't tell by the pictures I posted up, we had a good ole time.
Please enjoy.Listed in: Cupcakes & Chocolatiers!

My first instinct or gut reaction as I enter the store is to run around with my arms stretched out and scream "Heehee, YAAAAAAAY!!!"
Chocolate, bubblegum, gummies, lollipops... I feel like such a kid. I love the whole novelty of the place and the candy brands bring back so many memories. "Oh, I remember THIS!!!" or "OH, I got a stomach ache eating this when I was in grade 3!"
Besides all the sweet deliciousness, there's also fun stuff such as sour cream and onion crickets or worm snack packs. Yes, actual bugs! I bought these before for an Amazing Race themed birthday and my friends loved the idea. They don't taste too bad either, I expected worse.
I wish the prices were a little lower, but rent on Robson isn't cheap. I'm still a huge fan of The Candy Aisle and visit occasionally. -

I don't know how you can't give this place 5 stars. Open late, HUGE selection of candy in bulk. I mean, you walk in wanting candy. You walk out with lots of candy. 5 stars!
I always bee-line it to the back where the black licorice selection is (wide variety of sweet and salty) because if I actually browse around this store I may never leave. Oh and this is also a great place to stroll down memory lane but be forewarned you WILL date yourself. Personally I am of the Nerds, Fun Dip and Big League Chew generation.
My last suggestion is to enter this store with something specific in mind. Do not get distracted!!! The lure of sugar is strong and relentless!!!! -

Atmosphere: Very colourful, spacious and clean. Giant replicas of candy decorated everywhere and displays of sugary delights in different shapes and sizes. Very appealing.
Service: Very friendly staff. They have somewhat of a knowledge of candy, however, if not, they are encouraging to try and will chat with you about candy if you're pleasant. Come to think of it, I haven't seen one miserable person at the candy store since candy makes everyone happy.
Selection: Awesome, different varieties from your common varieties, rarities to some candy related items like pillows and Pez. 31 colors of M&M's beyond the standard pack are my favourite.
Price: Decent, some imports are pricier, however, all within budget. I go here at least before a concert. I spend about $10 a visit, however, I scored 3 Groupons for $10 worth of candy for $5. With or without a Groupon I still shop here. It was nice to have the price break none the less as a loyal customer and the extra savings helped for the holidays. -

In order of excitement:
+ I like salty snacks, so British chips with a logo that looks like Lay's but with a different name intrigued me. Flavours I've never seen before, so I forgot what they were! I'll check them out again.
+ 21 colours of M&M's -- including white and black -- that you can buy in bulk. Sorted by colour. I should have come here when I was trying to get chocolates in my wedding colours!!
+ Chocolate-covered bugs!
+ Chupa Chups and lots of lolipops.
+American candies, too, like Airheads -- like Starbursts in flat form with even more artificial flavour -- that kids at my Jr. High grew up on.
+ Mints and candies in interesting canisters -- Super Nintendo controllers, Pac-Man, Hello Kitty.
I'm coming back here for sure, next time with pocket-money.
With lots of things under a dollar, I'm not surprised they have a minimum $2.50 for Cash/Credit. -

As I write this review, I'm chomping away on a Chupa Chups lollipop from the Candy Aisle. I had just been thinking about Chupa Chups the other week, and how I hadn't seen them in ages, then today wandered in to the Candy Aisle and there they were, along with all sorts of other sweet things I haven't seen recently or can't normally get in Canada.
I'm a bit surprised at how many other reviewers have mentioned the Tim Tams; there must be quite a market for them. I don't know why the supermarkets stopped carrying them. I, too, was pleasantly surprised to see them stocked, and not just regular Tim Tams; they also have the dark chocolate kind (which I'll have to try).
They have a make-your-own pixy stix machine! Luckily, I managed to resist its charms (for now).
The imported candy can be a little pricey, but that's to be expected, and overall, the prices are still pretty reasonable. -

I heart candy stores. I also owe a special thanks to this candy store for introducing me to Steak and Onion and Roasted Chicken flavored crisps.
That being said, considering I live in Portland, Oregon I'm going to now be undergoing a withdrawel phase because I won't have them anymore. But it's ok. I'll live. No worries. -

Except for the British imports, which are ridiculously expensive. But I suppose that's to be expected. Sigh. -

Yes, I heart candy. Especially candies from foreign lands, like the Aussie favourite, Tim Tams, delectable little chocolate covered cookies that can be dunked in coffee or hot chocolate, mmmmm. The Candy Aisle offers up a vast assortment of sweet treats to rot away your teeth, from all over the world. They have recently added ice cream to the long list of tasty morsels, from Jelly Belly's (bacon, vomit, worm and booger flavours not withstanding) to chocolate covered gummy bears and a wall full of Pez candies and collectable dispensers.
I am always making excuses to walk by this shop and I love that it is open till late most nights! -

Yay! Candy! Even on a dark and gloomy day, this place brings a smile to my face. Who doesn't' love candy?
If there's ever really a situation where overkill isn't a bad thing, it's here. They don't stop at your standard childhood favourites like Jelly Belly and Pez Dispensers (Pez!). Oh no. They've compiled future favourites in lunchbox tins, assembled every possible kind of bubble gum available (when was the last time you tried to blow a bubble?). Their selection of chocolate bars puts wholesalers to shame. And Tim Tams! I didn't know if I'd ever see you again!
Okay, I think I've used enough exclamation marks for the day. -

A little bias, but I used to work here, it was like the greatest job, people would come here and beam. I still come in here, and get loot (Red Licorice Taffy is the work of the devil, so so good) and people are still beaming, people are still buying their candy, and yes, people still don;t realize if you open the bulk bins the wrong way, candy falls on the floor (that;s right, just kick it under the display, noone will notice)

Quite possibly the happiest place in Kitsalano AND Vancouver. I walk by here (the kits location) pretty much every day on my way to work and without question everything from content (Candy from all over the world) to design (big bright colours), this place is beaming with happiness. I challenge you to find a SAD person in this store. With all of your childhood favourites (pop rocks and dip sticks) to the downright weird (candy covered bugs, and BBQ meal works), the Candy Aisle is the place to go for delicious delicious caramel coated happiness.
