Wow. I say, Wow.
Simple, tidy & cute lil place tucked in by the entrance of an RV park.
But by far the best pulled pork I've had in the last 2-3 years since this dish has become trendy in Vancouver. Juicy and tasty, just the way you figure it ought to taste - I've always been somewhat disappointed by pulled pork so far, too dry.
I had the 2-3 person combo platter with my 2 kids. 2 - 2.5 pounds of meat (chicken, pulled pork, ribs and some bbq beef) + some fixins. Normally, that would mean two things: leftovers and me feeling grumpy from eating too much meat (I like my veggies).
First thing didn't happen - my daughter ate everything in sight. Second didn't happen either - the meat was more than good enough to temporarily reignite my inner carnivore. -

Tucked in the entrance of the Eagle Vista RV Park is the great little trailer that's home to Campfire's prep area and attached to an assortment of grills and smokers. It does look like a couple of tiny shacks, but the best version of a shack that's cute and comfortable and clean and a place I'd love to spend a lot of time hanging out on a late summer evening. There's even a fire pit, and Inger & Mike have marshmallows for roasting!
But, enough of the ambiance, you say, what about the food? DELICIOUS!
We tried their BBQ Feast for 2-3, so we could sample a little of everything. And it was all good!
The pulled pork was awesome, a perfect mix of fat and lean to get a great shred with a mild rub.
The brisket was also really nice, juicy and falling apart, and wonderful with their honey-mustard sauce (they make 4 BBQ sauces: Chipotle, Apricot, Bourbon and Honey Mustard)
The rub on the ribs was unique, with hints of turmeric(?).
And the chicken - wow. I'm always disappointed when I get smoked chicken anywhere but off my own BBQ, because it's usually a dried out memory of how good it could've been UNTIL NOW. Mike's chicken was juicy and succulent and everything good BBQ chicken should be.
The slaw at Campfire is a perfect mix of creamy and acidic, with a nice addition of crisp apple to the green & red cabbage and carrots.
I would say the only disappointment was the beans, except they weren't exactly disappointing, they were good, just a bit boring compared to how excellent everything else was. I have yet to find local baked beans that can hold a candle to the Memphis Blues Pit Beans.
Overall, delicious. I'll be back for sure. -

If this place isn't unique, then I certainly need to get our more. On a beautiful winter's evening, wrapped up against the cold, as our family sat round the campfire toasting post-prandial marshmallows, our kids said "This is the best restaurant ever".
Served in a wooden shed warmed by a patio heater, our meal consisted of ribs, chicken, pulled pork and beef accompanied by beans, mac and cheese and slaw. Together with a selection of homemade sauces and the smell of the campfire it provided a great barbecue experience. The kids were able to let off steam playing in the snow between mouthfuls, and the grown-ups were able to sit and savour the food.
Although we were the only people sitting and eating there, there was a steady stream of locals coming to pick up a take-home meal. The owners explained how it's one of only a few take-out optoins in Squamish that isn't pizza. It certainly made me wish we lived a bit closer. -

A hidden gem in the town of Squamish. Every time I'm in Squamish, I try to hit this place. I would even drive up from Richmond to Squamish for some grubs at Campfire Grill.
