Was told it a greasy spoon kind of place and what I found was it was a retro-style diner with some kitschy signs inside. I had the open-faced turkey sandwich or plate and a little bread pudding, the latter of which is more a cinnamon roll. However they do not have ice for their beverages -- it must be a Canadian thing because it wasn't the first place. Had I asked I might have been told to grab some snow from outside.

Thinking of what to have for breakfast, hubby initially said the diner across the hotel where we stay but I read only a 3.5 out of 5 review so I start looking and found The Cabin just a bit down the road.
We were so glad we came! I had the English Breakfast and it did not disappoint. Visiting from Toronto, we have been so many diners back home but this one wow me. I guess it's the small town charm too and that why we were just back to get a couple chocolate milkshakes!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Zhengyao Z.North Rustico, PE01435Jul 29, 2022
Neat little cabin off the road with a tight dining room and limited parking (10 vehicles)
$20 can stuff you with some delicious homemade goodies!
Service is great!
Atmosphere: a bit cramped, but lots of vintage souvenirs handing on the walls to look at while waiting for your meal.
Mostly the food is homey and smaller portioned. Ham is excellent, toast is awesome, bacon could be a little softer and bigger. Eggs could be done better, and home fries could use less fry!
Food can be hit and miss at times: (one time steak was wayyy too well done when asked for medium rare. Another time pancakes a bit burnt, dry and thin. The last time we were there, there was a hair in the dessert, but the second one tasted great!)
Conclusion: Been here at least 5 times, starting to get a little bit claustrophobic, and you'll have to come here more than once to know what is usually better and what is more average. Also you probably don't want to drive a huge truck or SUV in the back as parking is very limited. If you have little kids or a huge party of people, would strongly look at going to another place as it is very tight spacing in between tables. But if you want a good bang for your buck and fill your tummy quickly then this cabin is a wonderful choice! Cheers!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Scott M.United States03Jul 1, 2023

The greatest little place to eat in Fredericton. Have been going there for many many years and it never fails to deliver on service, friendliness, and darn good food. I have gone from a teenager to a senior and the quality of preparation and food is above and beyond. Getting the urge to go just writing this. Thank you Cabin folk!!

I love the Cabin! My family has been going here since my dad was in high school in the '60s!
It's a great little diner with retro decor (including jukeboxes at the booths along the walls that actually play in the diner) that serves solid, homestyle food. If you're looking for comfort food, this is a great place to find it.
I almost always get breakfast, often the Big Fella (though sometimes I need to split it since it's HUGE), but the hot turkey is also a favourite. My mom often gets their bread pudding and my dad swears by the hot hamburger.
As far as seating, there are maybe 6-7 booths that seat four along two walls, with tables seating ~4 people in the middle row (maybe 3-4 tables) and stools at the counter. If you enjoy watching cooks, sit near or at the counter and you can see right into the kitchen!
I recommend not going right at lunchtime since when it's busy parking can be a bit tough. There's parking for a few cars in front of the building, more behind the building and you can park along the road too. It can be a little tough to turn around out back if all of the spots are filled though.
If you love diners, comfort food, breakfast or jukeboxes, you NEED to stop in!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Michelle P.Kingston, NS1863Apr 15, 2019
Great bang for your buck. Service is O.K., a bit slow. The place is small and homey. Average, homestyle food in good sized portions and a great place for families. Also a cool feature are the jukeboxes next to each table so you can play music for the entire restaurant with $0.25 per song. Make sure to bring lots of quarters!
Parking may be tough to find as there are not many spots, and turning around out of the lot is fairly tough, so be prepared.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Becky T.Fredericton, NB128Aug 5, 2016
Affordable diner style food. Service is friendly yet typically a bit slow. Food is pretty good but on the bland side. Nothing fancy but you'll get your money's worth.
