Review from Louise G.
Heaven on Earth...And considering the location (The Change Islands) is in itself a little bit of Heaven ... double win!!!
A lovely cafe with walls and windows adorned with the works of local artists' paintings and glass sun catchers. They also sell locally produced maps, art posters, mugs and a selection of other lovely things.
The menu is simple but everything you need for brunch or lunch; Soup and Sandwiches. The Pea Soup is a favourite with locals and visitors alike. They're doing something right. (Pic: http://www.yelp.ca/biz... )
There is a Knitting Museum - be sure to stop by. There you can purchase woolens made by local knitters, and get an understanding of how important it is to Newfoundland life.
The service is super friendly. The lady (Ellen) that runs it practically falls over herself to make sure you are enjoying your time on the Islands and is full of useful tips. They get a lot of tourist traffic and which she seems to love; meeting people from all parts of the globe. She recounted how a visitor from the US forgot his credit card there two years in a row. I'm sure it was just a ploy to have a reason to re-connect with her, she is such a delight. I wish I'd thought of it first. :-)Listed in: 365-Day Challenge - Review A…, FTRs, Healthier Choices, Food Porn, DA ROCK!
