Went here for my birthday last night. We were a group of about 15 and the waitress was great. We were sitting in the lower seating area by the entrance and she still came by very often. Lots of TVs if you're interested in watching the game. They also have a pool table, foosball table, and a couple pinball machines and arcade games.

They have tons of beer on tap, including Fuller's London Pride, which is a favourite of mine, and very rare to see on tap, so that was a definite plus. Also a bunch of us had food as well. I had the chicken and waffle sandwich. It was tasty and something different.

I will definitely be coming here more often.

I have quite a love-hate relationship with the Donnelly Group.
Yes, their recent ad at the movies makes me tear up and feel SO PROUD to live in this city.
And, yes, I did have to fight back tears of fury at 9:03 PM on Friday after learning I was THREE MINUTES into $12 cover land. Ya. In Kits.
The drinks were still pricy and stuff but I've given up on hiballs ages ago at the Donnelly Group, SO WATERY. The wine, beer and shots are fine though, if not a bit predictable.
Buttttttt, so far, every venue I've been to, I've ended up having fun at. Even if it takes a few hours. I have now learned to sit tight and keep drinking until the magical hour....11:50? 12:15? when it just starts getting worth it and very fun.
Same goes for Bimini's. It was huge, packed, pretty great crowd. From what I saw, more guys than girls. Decent dance floor too!
Still had quite a few of the older, 40-50 creepy player type but in general I liked it. Shall be back!

I was excited to find out that Bimini had finally reopened. I decided to check it out last night for my birthday with a group of my friends... Overall, the place is nice. Food was good (pulled pork sliders were awesome), the cocktail menu is fun and the games downstairs are entertaining.

However, what ruined the experience for me was the staff and service. Waitress spilled a full glass of red wine on me on our first round of drinks, and other than a couple of napkins and a simple sorry, that was all that was done about it. Also, when the replacement glass of wine was brought back, it was in the glass previously used and dripping with wine from the spillage. I understand spills happen, but apart from that, I found the overall service and the staff to be lacking. Staff didn't seem like they wanted to be there and I felt like it was such a chore for them when I ordered drinks.

While I like the atmosphere of Bimini, the cold-shoulder, borderline rude, service will definitely have me hesitant on frequenting the place.

Don't quite know what to say when Yelp says I'm a regular at the Bimini.  It is definitely Yelp's fault that I'm here so often though - after the Elite event I have found myself pulled into The Bimini multiple times - a bit more mature crowd than some of the Donnelly establishments - and you'll meet some very fun and interesting characters by sitting at the bar.  Their drinks are expensive and nothing is that crazy but it's a decent place to grab a drink when I stop pretending that I don't live really close to Kits

I don't know man, call me crazy but I kinda like it here. It's contextual though. I mean, this *is* the new Kits. This is the Kitsilano era of the baby boodle buggy and the tiny rat/dog being carried by an emasculated man and the multimillion dollar homes that I still think should only be worth a few hundred grand. This is absolutely a different neighbourhood than it used to be and most certainly a different neighbourhood than I am used to in life in general. BUT since it's only possible to live one life at a time, there's no use in dwelling on "the way things used to be," now is there? Context.

With old-school arcade games, a pretty decent cocktail list, some insanely comfortable booths covered with some insanely gorgeously luxurious leather, beautiful reclaimed wood beams and a food menu that isn't just standard pub-fare, Bimini kinda has it going on. I like the homage to the building's Greenpeace past, and I even like that stupid big projection screen that's used for watching "the" game (more so because it's not always there. It's nice that it can be hidden.)

Bimini is on point -- just needs a little breaking in, is all. You know, like a kid whose hair is too perfectly combed, you just want to mess it up a bit. Once that's done, it's gonna be all scraped knees and climbing trees.

Great bar that it's reopened.  Was there first for an event and went to check it out for real after.

Not really my space.  Guess I am getting kinda old.

If you are however, single, like to meet people and under 30 something, then this could be your cup of tea, or alchohol. (tea's for me).

Guess I'm just a crochety old koot past his prime stuck in a 30 something body.

This place is worth a check out after it's reno's for a few brews before heading home from work.

I Swung by here the other week for some drinks with girlfriends and had a pretty okay time. The bar/pub is layed out on 3 separate floors and has a fairly good balance of sitting/standing space. It got SUPER busy after 10pm.. but if you get there around 9pm, there isn't a line. I liked this place well enough. The atmosphere was kind of cool... A nice mix of club-meets-pub. Sort of reminded me of 'The Morrisey' down on Granville Street, but way bigger and with less hipster lesbians (not that I have a problem with hipster lesbians.. .. in fact, anytime I had BEEN to The Morrisey it was with my fucking crew of Hipster Lesbian friends). It's chill, without being divey.

The drinks are pretty expensive ($10+ for a cocktail--- ouch) and the music is/was just a BIIIIIT too loud for my liking. I feel like unless a place is a dance club, there's no reason to have the music up so loud that you can't hear the person sitting next to you unless they are screaming in your ear. Dislike.

All in all, it's a good place in Kits to have a few (expensive) drinks... and I am happy to see it back and gracing 4th with it's presence.

OH! and before I go-- It needs to be said-- HOLY SHIT THIS PLACE IS SUCH A SAUSAGEFEST! A male-female rations of *eeeasily* 3-1 in here. Ladies- Come here if you are looking for some cock. Guys- come here if you are looking for some cock. Just saying'.

I used to frequent this place about 5 years ago, before it became part of the Donnelly group and before it burned down and got reopened. So I was very curious to see how the place had fared through all that change. The atmosphere is similar to what I remember (dark and "pub like"), however I think there used to be a pool table on the upper level where there is now a bar. There are also now the familiar features of several of the Donnelly pubs, ie. TV screens showing the game and individual unisex bathroom stalls as opposed to a mens room and a ladies room.

Our server was fine but to be honest seemed like she'd rather be at home recovering from a late night the night before. She also interrupted us about four or five times to deliver messages regarding my various allergy questions, which became slightly distracting. It would have been preferable if she could have just interrupted us once to tell me the whole story rather than returning with bits and pieces of information. But she brought our food fairly quickly and always refilled my water glass, so I give her props for keeping us hydrated.

In terms of brunch, my omelette of the day (spinach, onion, red pepper and goat cheese) was tasty but seemed to be lacking something, in my opinion. I think it would have been better with a pesto sauce or maybe a different type of cheese to help the flavours work together. But you can't stray too far off the right track with that combo of veggies, cheese and eggs. The surprise of the meal was the fact that they offered gluten free toast, so for once I didn't have to substitute my toast for a salad. I'm not able to do that at most brunch places (I can only think of one off the top of my head) so that was a definite bonus.

Not a bad brunch option in Kits, although competition in the neighbourhood is stiff. The experience did bring back some memories and made me curious to try brunch at one or two of the Donnelly pubs downtown.

Very unimpressed with the doormen. I went on St Patricks day, which in hindsight was a busy time but they made a line up outside. When we got there maybe there was a total of 12 people in the line but it got busier this was at 715pm. They continually let people in from the "guest list" which they didn't bring out to check until after 815pm, even though they were telling us that it was at capacity, some people just got in that "guest list" line  because they didn't want to wait.  So if you want to go here and there is a line just let them know you are on the guest list even if you aren't and you should get in as they didn't seem to be checking.

Too much make-up, too short-skirt-wearing girls out of nowhere were let in before us by another doorman that just appeared (not the one that stuck to the 'we are at capacity' story). Big disappointment and bad PR for the pub!!

Based on other reviews, too expensive, too loud and waiters with attitude - not going back there for sure.

Decided to head to Bimini's during the 2012 Playoff run which ended too soon. Have been back twice since and each time has confirmed that we have found our local pub. Manager is friendly, servers were great, and food was delish. Lots of drink specials (beer, wine and cocktails). And the cheesecake is local, from Trees Organic (worth indulging in, I promise).  I could go on and on, but here's to a local pub which reopened its doors, and I look forward to going back, again and again!

Went last Saturday to watch the Nucks v. Leafs with some buds. The food here is second to none with regards to taste and value. I had the pork chill and man was it good. My other bud had the spaghetti.. I tried it and it was awesome. I got hungry after the game and split a burger with another buddy. So juicy, just like Biggie says.Beer selection is amazing too with 24 options! I ended up staying there until 1am dancing with some cute gals (as a DJ played later in the night). Spent way too much money, but had a fantastic time. My server was amazing too. She recommended the burger and I'm glad I took her up on it.

Its been a long time since they have opened from their bad karma fire... thats right karma can bite back.. The staff seems to be all new but not management. The renos came out on top as they should with the amount of $ spent on the rebuild. The menu looks way better.. the big screens everywhere you look will be nice to watch a game... This place has allot of history as it was the first pub license in vancouver from the hotel bar rules some 40 years ago.  Maybe theres some goodness lurking in the barrel of draft beer??

Went there for dinner and drinks and the service was horrible. Not usually one to complain, but when we did, the best they could do for us was give us 20% off the one entree which showed up after everyone else was done eating.

The servers need to loose their attitude.

Also, a line up and cover in kits, wont work.
