I loooove this place. Not only because they use hormone free meats, but it is way cheaper than other butcher/grocery stores with organic meat Ive been to. Its a tiny store, but they have all the basics ( chicken, beef and pork) along with some fish, and game meats, perogie. They have amazing sausages...which come in smaller prepacked quantities, which I like because I typically cook for one.
They even have beef bacon. Its a little chewier and saltier than the average stuff, but for those who dont want to eat pork its delicious.
This is definately my new go to for meat. -

The bacon alone is worthy of giving this place 5 stars. However, the people behind the counter are super nice and friendly too. I will def pass all the super markets and drive the extra distance to buy my meat there.

Up to now this is the only Butcher I go to when I need something special, they have a good selection of fresh and frozen meat related foods and friendly helpful staff.
Also if you ask they will try and get any cut of meat you want, I've had Pigs Trotters, Pigs Ears and Pigs Cheeks from these for next to nothing extra in price, although you have to order and wait a few days they still will try and get what you want.
I know it sounds a bit funny but I highly recommend trying Pigs Cheeks braised for 4 hrs they are really tasty,

My old man buys all his meat from the Better Butcher. And it's never steered him wrong. I go over to my Dad's place maybe one every week or two for dinner. My dad loves meat. So each time, I am subjected to what I'd call Canadian cuisine at its finest. Of course, all the meat is provided by the Better Butcher.
I've never been in the store, but having a father like mine is not something that comes easily. One must expect a larger dose of meat than you could ever get anywhere else, all in one night with the old man. So let me tell you, the meat better be damn good. And each time, since Pop switched to this new butcher, the meat's been better, my stomach's felt better, and my taste buds aren't screaming in agony.
This must be a good butcher shop. And if I ever buy as much meat as my dad does, I'll be heading here. -

We are very lucky to have this butcher shop in our area. Everything is top notch. Not only is the meat and chicken great but their bacon is delicious so don't forget to try that. I don't even bother buying meat at the grocery store anymore because this meat is so good.
I agree with the other reviewer that mentioned the stomach issue. I always feel fine with the Better Butcher's meat and I hadn't really thought about that until I read the review mentioning it.
