Great little place for brunch just before we left Whistler. Sunday morning, early December. Parking is easy, being just inside the Marketplace. Hardly crowded, probably everyone else was on the mountains. We had an order of frittata with ham, and an order of simple crepes. Filling, hot, adequate. Our two decaf Americanos (they didn't have decaf drip) were fresh and yummy. Another reviewer captured the ambience right, like an urban college coffee shop. Works for me!

I ordered a BLT with Turkey. No tomato, literally 1/2 a leaf of lettuce, old bacon, 1 slice of turkey. basically a bread sandwich.
save your cash and walk over to the IGA and hit up the deli. Much more bang for your buck and the sandwich's are made daily.
bacon buddy in the am is killer too $3 buck!
think Snow*

I like the idea of this cafe. And the prices are pretty cheap for a sit down place in Whistler. However, it wasn't my favorite meal. I ordered the eggs benny which came with hashbrowns. Hashbrowns = 5 tiny tiny McD's style potato patties. And my latte was okay, but by the time the food came, I had already finished it, leading me to order another. And the latte was super hot so it took me a while to finish it.
I think other items on the menu would have been better. I'll have to go back for Lunch or something instead. -

It was our anniversary today........and we were set to go to the wild wood bistro at the tennis club where I was going to order the banana bread french toast........................ but this is no time to dwell on the fact that it was closed because the olympics are around the corner so they are renovating.
..............so we stumbled into the Beet Root because I wanted to try it and..I could not eat at the Wild Wood....................... but I have to say that I'm glad it was closed or else I would not have stopped by. The menu looked appetizing enough on the front window. and the lady who just left said that she recommended it and everything was made fresh, so we were sold.
I ordered the breakfast croissant, which consisted of scramble eggs, cheese, with the choice of ham or baked beans.. and a few roasted potatoes on the side. Bf ordered the belgian waffles that came with fresh fruit, greek yogurt and awesome maple syrup. Freshly squeezed orange juice was tasty!
Everything was extremely filling, and large large portions at a very decent price. The place is not very big so you're hoping someone is leaving as you're walking in, or else you may have to settle for takeout.
I saw some people order paninis which were HUMONGOUS.. large enough to share! The people are nice and friendly and you'll see friends and family enjoying a great meal! -

Cozy and delicious. Beet Root is great for breakfast or lunch. On especially lazy days I would go grab a book at the library and head on over to the Beet Root. The sandwiches were basic but divine. I especially liked the one with brie and pears and a ciabatta roll. While waiting for my sandwich I would love filling up on the water there because of the cranberries that were in the water. I know, lame, but life is full of small wonders.

Maybe avoid for brunch -- greasy-spoon fare in a coffeeshop setting. Filling and satisfying, although in that usual fried-egg sort of way that you regret later; generally uninspired. Gruff table service from a menu done up in five minutes in Microsoft Word. Coffee unexceptional.

I was in Whistler for a ski weekend and came across this charming cafe. I enjoyed half of a grilled ham sandwich and a cup of lamb stew, both of which were flavorful and filling. The Beet Root has a great collegetown-coffee-house vibe, and the ambience was as cozy and comforting as the food.
