Review from Vivek S.
It's difficult and probably pointless to rate a monopolistic retailer whose stores are highly homogenous -- but damnit I'll try. The Beer Store plays by its own rules, so I'll highlight some of the differences that make this location a gem.
For starters, there is a big fat juicy parking lot out front. It's steps from the Don Valley Parkway --in case you felt like grabbing a two-four and sitting in traffic -- and because of the convergent nature of Toronto's east-west streets is extremely close to King, Queen and Dundas streets east.
I used to work nearby and the staff was pretty cool about letting us borrow carts to transport 24s. In a neighbourhood such as this, that shows a lot of trust. If I was at the corner of Queen and River and needed a beer, I can think of no better place to scoop one up. Especially because legally, I can't buy cases anywhere else.
Obligatory Title Pun: Is that a beer in your pocket or are you just HOPPY to see me?
Menu Readability: Too many options.
Need to mention: If you see a homeless man out front with a winning smile and the brightest blue eyes you've ever seen: that's John.
What this place teaches me about myself: Not a damn thing, really.
