Busy pub with lots of tvs to watch the game. Casual atmosphere. No minors allowed anytime,
Food is okay. They don't seem to be too focused on using locally sourced ingredients. Happy to see some vegetarian/vegan options on the menu. I tried their quinoa salad and they were happy to sub the goat cheese with avocado (and lots of avocado too). It was actually quite a delicious salad but make sure you ask for the dressing on the side. The dressing is very oily. -

Good food but it is a bit over priced. Service is pretty slow and it is usually very busy. Probably best to avoid when there's a big hockey game on.

Good atmosphere, friendly service, and a very yummy veggie burger make this a regular lunch spot when I'm in town. I love that they include not only a patty, but also a portobello in the veggie burger. I've never ordered a drink, but the selection looks expansive. All of the waitresses seem to be attractive young women though, which kind of makes me laugh.
I always enjoy my visits here. -

I go to the Beagle mostly because it is centrally located and a convenient place for my friends and I to meet for beer, wings, or to watch a game.
The food is overpriced but at least it's good; the consensus among my friends is that the Beagle needs some competition to improve the food and the service, but I don't have any complaints. The wings are some of the best I've had in Victoria, generally ranking 1st or 2nd (behind Smiths) depending on which of my friends you ask. The service is always good though the increasingly more common wait for a seat is getting tiresome. They have Driftwood Ale which is one of my favourite local beers, and they manage to offer plenty of televisions without feeling like a sports bar.
All things considered I'd say the Beagle is one of Victoria's best pubs.Listed in: The Places I Go Out

Delicious french onion soup!
Very laid back and comfortable atmosphere. I really enjoyed just being there. Our waitress was great, though service got a little slow toward the end. I kept eying the wings on everyone's plate, thinking that they looked really good! I was surprised and impressed by the unique items on the menu, and the good brew on the board.
Thanks, Flying Beagle Pub! -

Very good atmosphere and nice service! located by cook st village, there is a great mix of people who come into the place, just for a drink after work or to catch a game. I was there just for some nacho's and beer and I couldn't complain. I will def be going back another time with to show some more friends, try it out!

There is something about The Beagle that says "neighborhood pub", even if the food menu doesn't. Sure it has all the usual pub stuff, but if you read through carefully enough there are some unique gems on the menu. My date and I shared the Tapenada Hummus and the Candy Pecan and Apple salad with a couple of brews. For the most part it was adequate, with one exception...those pecans were to die for. If ever there was a reason to return it's for the pecans. Okay, there's the mass selection of draught and the outstanding service. It was packed in there and the staff didn't falter once. After all that praise, I do have one request...more candied pecans please.
