This is a cute little kitschy place, definitely off the beaten path and I'm sure its business is largely built on word of mouth.
Tiny place = tiny kitchen = tiny menu, but it's mighty good. I had the breakfast burrito with a side of home fries. So delicious. Fluffy eggs with a mild chipotle kick, peppers, zucchini & sausage (spinach is the veggie option) in a fresh wrap. So yummy. Home fries could've used a bit more cooking time, but they were full of flavour. My mom ordered off their daily special menu and had curried chick pea soup and corn beef on rye. The soup was amazing. Sandwich was tasty, too.
The decor is worth a peek and if you stay for the food, you won't be disappointed. I'm looking forward to my next visit. -

The food was okay. It's definitely mostly homemade. It was appropriately priced. There wasn't much to really complain about except that the croissant wasn't a real croissant which was disappointing.
The main reason to come here is the atmosphere. The place is decked out in 1950s kitsch home wares. My mom (who is of that period) really enjoyed seeing and could clearly identify with much of the décor from her childhood. Even for me (who is not of that period), it was fun to look at.
Another nice thing about this place is that it's not a chain restaurant in downtown London. The place definitely has a homegrown feel to it; which is desirable. The idea they're running with is original and the staff seems cooler than most. It's always good to support a local business that's doing something right. -

This is an awesome little spot on the corner of Maitland & Pall Mall. It's filled with retro furniture & items (remember Pop Shop soda's?!?) although I only go for the food and great fair-trade coffee. I believe that anything in the shop is available for sale since the store is technically a variety. All the food is made fresh and I believe from scratch. They have free wi-fi and I often find myself going in for a coffee with my laptop to get a bit of work done as well. Jane the owner is very accommodating and friendly and does do catering from the shop as well should you need some eats for your special event. Although the menu is fairly small... all the items are really good.
My only real criticism is that sometimes they are closed at times when they normally are open but it's a new business with an active owner (Jane) and with the construction that's happened this summer... it's played a bit of havoc for them. If you show up and they are infact closed... consider that I warned you but give them another shot... you won't be disappointed.
UPDATE:
The hours are now pretty regular! Since it's a small owner run business there is still the odd holiday that they aren't open but that's to be expected.
Check it out... you won't be disappointed.
