Review from Alex P.
Avenue Clothing features classy, work-appropriate clothing, while still providing for different styles and tastes. I really like the clothing here, and the quality of construction, from what I've seen, is very good. The prices are just a bit more than stores like RW & Co -- expect to pay about $130 for a dress, $60 for a button down shirt, etc. Avenue clothing also has a decent selection of accessories, though I rarely find something within that category that suits me here.
So, what's the deal with only three stars? Well, as I said, I like the clothing here. I just wish it fit me! Their size range is fine, but things here always fit me "funny" -- shirts that fit me in the shoulder are either too narrow or too wide in the bust, and are often too short, and so on. The proportions of a lot of their clothing just don't suit my body type, and for that reason I own very few items from here.
I also wish they'd have sales more often, as their discounted section in the back usually does not offer many nice items... the stuff that's banished back there is there for a reason. I shop at other, similar stores during sales only (student budget), so this also limits the amount I can purchase. -

What I like about the Avenue Clothing Company is that they provide fashion for women of all ages. You can find style here whether you're in your 20's or 50's, or in between.
The Avenue Clothing Company carries clothing, jewelry, and accessories for women. I personally like the jewelry and scarves the best. Most of their jewelry is pretty affordable, with a wide range in style, size, and price. I bought my friend a pair of glass bead earrings for $12, and another pair of crystal studs for $6. They've also got a rack full of scarves, and some pretty unique ones too. If you're into scarves as much as me, you should check theirs out.
They provide seating with magazines, and even children's toys for restless tots. Their changing rooms are wide and spacious, and there's always a large sale section in the back of the store. They also have a wide selection in fall jackets right now, if you're looking for something to jazz up your autumn style. -

This store, located along Whyte Ave, is okay. They have some nice styles but nothing that I could really see myself wearing. I would say if I was a little older and had some kind of job here I had to dress professionally I probably would pick up a few items from The Avenue Clothing Co. They did have some nice bags and purses; they had a really nice indigo leather bag at the back of the store. They did have a nice array of decorative scarfs; some were on sale. They had a large sale section at the back, but nothing really jumped out at me except some active wear but they didn't have my size. They had some nice accessories but nothing that really excited me except for some brown colored, rose shaped barrettes.
There were about four women working in the store, all of them were behind the counter and only one of them actually greeted me when I walked in. Their store is really nice and neat and open so you can walk around without knocking anything over. -

I've never really found anything that suited me at The Avenue Clothing Company. The clothes here are stylish, and are appropriate for almost any age, but they are definitely not edgy or funky.
The jewellery here is beautiful and so are some of the bags and wallets, but they can run on the pricey side. The clothes are expensive too, but they have good mark-downs. In the back of the store, you'll find lots of great clothes for up to 70% off.
I find this store usually keeps up with the latest trends. Short sweaters are really in right now, and last time I was here, I picked up a few sweater I though I would like, but when they unfolded, they were so short! I like stores that break the rules and don't always go with whatever is in style.
I've probably tried on 15 pair of pants here, but they never work out--not because they don't fit (it's great they have some bigger sizes)--but because they are too low-rise, too tight, or too short. There's always something weird that I don't like.
I don't know why I keep coming here, because I never find anything, but I probably won't be back again, unless I need clothes for an office job or something like that. -

This whyte avenue clothing store is okay, but I don't think it is anything special. The clothing here seems appropriate for working women and they have all different sizes, which is nice.
I really do like the accessories they have here though. I think they are a little overpriced though, so I tend to buy stuff from other stores.
You can get stuff on sale here too. They have a huge area of mark-downs that any woman trying to save money should check out.
I might shop here once I have a job that requires me to dress nicely, but even then, I think there are better places to check out for better prices. -

The Avenue Clothing Co. is a great place to shop if you are looking for something office appropriate or conservative casual for women of any age. I find this store is great for skirts and basic dress shirts as well as their jewellery, scarves and belts. Things here are fairly affordable with most items under 150$, and there is usually a sale of some sort on as well. The clothes here are not exactly trendy or overly exciting, but they are classic and great for basics. I pop in here often as their merchandise changes often!

As I write this review, I still can't get over the fact that the three times I have been to Avenue Clothing, I have experienced the most atrocious customer service ever. This place is not even upscale and doesn't sell clothes fancy enough to justify customer service representatives' arrogant behavior. Not once have I received a "hello", even when the sales ladies looked me right in the eye. I mean, what is that? Why? When I purchased a top here several months ago, I wasn't assisted...I had to help myself to a dressing room...I stood by the counter waiting to pay for my purchase for about 10 minutes. For that, Avenue Clothing is off my list of stores to shop in for good. And frankly, the clothes here aren't that great. Of course, there are occasional cute items but the clothes are mostly synthetic, too sparkly and are geared towards older women. Maybe if I was one, I would get better customer service.

I've been popping in and out of this shop for years, probably just 'cause it's in the Whyte Ave. shopping district and next to a shop I like more, Etzio. My girlfriend, however, loves Avenue Clothing and I keep giving it another shot, but the truth is, it just doesn't excite me. They always have nice, classic pieces for the season in the latest colours, but the clothes lack pizzazz and hip, in the way that stores like Northern Reflections, Cotton Ginny and Ricki's water down "cool" for the slightly less adventurous fashionistas. The clothes are less tailored than I like, and have plainer designs. Obviously, this is a generalization. I've seen nice stuff in here, but I don't think I've ever bought anything from here. They do have some nice accessories, handbags and jewelry, but I tend to buy these things in the same place I buy my clothes. I will probably, out of habit, give Avenue yet another try, and who knows, maybe I'll be surprised.
