We went here for lunch yesterday, and I'm glad we did. We ordered 2 flights, the Greek salad, and the chicken pesto pizza, all to share.
Though I did not like a large portion of the beers we tried, the waitress was great with the flights. She gave us her opinion and was more than happy to bring us all of the samplers we ordered. Once it became clear that we were ordering to try new things, she also started telling us about all of the beers that weren't on the printed menu, which I really appreciated.
The Greek salad was nothing to write home about, but the chicken pesto pizza was pretty damn good. They put onions on there but don't tell you that on the menu, so we were stuck with those. Other than that, though, it was great. I'm sure we'll be back if we've got time.Listed in: 300

I've never been wowed by this place. The food is alright and their breakfast is hardy and reasonably priced but I think for me it's always been the service that doesn't do it.
For instance during the Great Glebe Garage Sale they seemed woefully unprepared when they opened and they were surprisingly not that busy. The food took a long time and a mistake was made on the order.
I've gone other times, including later in the evening for just apps and beers with friends and also found that the patio tables can give you a surprise when they rock and tilt your beer around. They needed either better tables or to make the base of the sidewalk patio more even!
I've never say inside but the bar area is nice and they have large TVs to accommodate groups or anyone who is there to watch a game.
If the service has improved I may give this place a second chance but really only if I'm in the area and wouldn't step out of my way to find it. -

If you're in the Glebe with a large group of people looking for good food and a great beer selection, just stop at the Arrow and the Loon. They have an enormous seating area, including a section by the bar, a larger section beyond the bar, an outdoor patio and another patio in the mall. The food is delicious and moderately priced with large servings.
My favourite item to order is their Nicholas K burger, which is made with mango, goat cheese, spinach, tomato and honey mustard sauce. Get that with an order of their delicious poutine and you're in heaven. If you go on Mondays between 5pm and 8pm, burgers are two for one with the purchase of a drink. They also have a really delicious cider and St. Ambroise Apricot Wheat Ale on tap.
Other offerings include $4 breakfast from 8-11am, free jazz on Sundays and delivery within the neighbourhood. -

The Thai Chicken Wrap and the Third Ave Chicken Burger were really disappointing. Barely any flavour in either. The service was OK but my friend was first told that a substitution was ok. This was then refused by the kitchen. Not going back.

Located on the sunny side of Fifth Avenue in the heart of the Glebe, the Arrown and the Loon is a great neighbourhood pub. It offers all the pub grub a good pub should offer (wings, burgers, nachos) plus lots of good beers on tap. The Arrown and the Loon is different from your usual in a number of ways. First, it delivers! Okay, only the food. You ain't getting a pint of Stellas delivered to your door any time soon. However, they only deliver to residences in the neighbourhood, so don't be calling from Kanata. The other difference is the owner - Mr. Khalil. He is the heart and soul of this pub. He is as genuine and good-hearted an individual that you are likely to meet. I had the pleasure of talking to him one afternoon as I stopped by for a drink. We had a great chat about his adventures coming to Canada with nothing and building this great establishment. If you see a guy at the Arrow and the Loon slightly older and slightly less hot than the wait staff, it is probably him. Do yourself a favour and say hi.
