I will echo the previous review's statement re: family ties.
In fact the entire time I was went to Western (for undergrad) I never even knew about this place. It was only when I came back to visit some friends who were still there that they took me here.
This bar is tucked away nicely in a quiet neighbourhood and more than anything else it offers a refuge from the 90%+ of Western students who will hit up Richmond row like it's a fashion show. So if you are an undergrad and are turned off by the majority of the Western student body than this place is your elixir. -
Review from Luke A.

The Alex P. Keaton is a bar in a converted old house, frequented by boho and faux boho Western students and grad students. I always thought they should have a sign at the door saying, "Entry restricted to people who were alive during the original broadcast run of Family Ties".
They have live music, but big amps in the small space make conversation pretty tough if you're not there for the show. It's not such a problem when the weather is nice and the patio is open, however. The beer selection is good, lots of interesting imports, but the prices are commensurately high.
