It's been one year now my wife and I regularly go to this amazing restaurant.
Of course, living just one block away can help, but I'm sure I would come there again even if I move to another far place.
We've never been disappointed. Everything is always fresh and tasty. They cook on demand, nothing is pre-made, so sometimes you will have to wait 15-20 minutes before it's ready. I know that for some north american people it seems long, but as a parisian native there is nothing wrong about that! On the contrary, it is usually very good sign.
My personal favorites :
Chicken Satay, Fish Cakes, Shrimp cakes (Appetizers)
Tom Ka Soup, Pad ki mao (Main)
Prices are very fair : all the appetizers are $4.5, and Main are $9-$11
Service is always very friendly and discreet. Not the kind to come every 5mn to ask you if everything is OK (I can't stand when I'm in a place like this). Atmosphere is quiet, relaxing, with very good-tasted interior design
Easy 5 stars for this first review ! -

Went back a couple of times within the last 6 months and the prices have gone up a bit for less quantity. And the crab cakes are not as good as they used to. Too bad :(

My new go-to for take out.
Dining at 6 on a random weeknight, I was a little worried being the only table in the restaurant. Although, I thought for sure our food would be quickly delivered and we'd be in and out of there. Wrong on all counts. S-L-O-W. Our server was really sweet, but I was a little bothered as we sat with our dirty dishes and he sat chatting on the phone. Then again, I know I'd be bored solid with no other customers.
I hope they have busier nights because the food is incredible. The bamboo shoots in the red curry were crunchy, the tom yum was tart and limey and the pad thai was definitely not made with ketchup! Plus, the bill was under $30 - score! -

Can't think of anything to improve upon here.
The $4 appy prices are great, really wish more restaurants would do this. At first I thought the Green Curry with Chicken wasn't going to be spicy enough, but soon realized it was just the right amount :) It also wasn't oily.
Another great thing I really like here are the prices. Nearly every entry as a chicken/tofu option was $9. Pretty much anywhere else you're going to pay $11+ for the same thing. Amazing considering being located in the expensive area of granville. -

I've been to great Thai restaurants in Vancouver, Toronto, and Thailand over a span of 9 years. Decided to visit this highly rated resto around 830pm on a Monday night.
Foodwise, the pad thai with chicken was heavy, over-sauced and over-sweetened (the most common mistake with North American versions of pad thai). The rice stick noodles were overcooked. The red curry chicken lacked bell peppers, snow peas or other vegetables... only had meat. Shrimp cakes were actually decent but served with a salad with ranch dressing, which doesn't fit the the cuisine type.
I'm usually tolerant of no-frills service for lower-tier restaurants. However service was awful for a "fine dining" white-tablecloth candelit restaurant. One of three tables served on a late Monday night, we still waited around 10mins before ordering anything or getting water. Our candlelight was extinguished and not replaced. In fact, our server took away the candle while every other (even empty) table in the restaurant was lit. Lastly, our appetizer came out over 5mins after our mains came to us. Lastly, our server ignored us for 5-10mins while we were waiting for our check to get picked up... while chatting with another diner about his photographic art.
On the day we went, this was a bad restaurant. We left zero tip and will not return. -

I really like this place, and would also love to get the word out. This place adds more to my neighbourhood culinary milieu than all the big-chain 'box' restaurants on Broadway.
The service is so lovely here...so welcoming, kind, and helpful. And the food is really lovely; made with the attention to spices and flavour true to Thailand itself. They even have small-sized and small-priced appetizers - which I think all restaurants should have (e.g. small-portion yummy calamari for $4). Even the lemongrass tea ignites the taste buds and tropically-oriented memories. I enjoy dining here...it very interestingly combines an almost-European elegance with the down-to-earth Thai kindness.
Go check it out...a great mid-week dinner that will definitely leave you wanting to come back to an attention-to-detail culinary experience set amongst an elegant but comfortable ambiance. -

It was pissing rain and we were starving so we dropped by Thai Spice as I passed by it earlier in the day.
Once walking in, you kind of get a fine-dining feel with very proper looking tables and such. It wasn't busy at all so we got seated right away. You know when they say to trust your gut? Well I didn't and trusted the waitress who said their calamari was good. Yes it was only $4 but resembled onion rings, nothing great. But then again, who orders calamari at a Thai restaurant? My bad.
For main I had the chicken Massaman Curry, which is variant of red curry and had pineapples and potatoes inside. I asked for 3/5 hotness, but the waitress sensed I liked spicier so she actually gave me 4/5. The curry was a perfect level of spiciness for me and the chicken was tender. Tons of flavour and the pineapple really added a nice sweet element to each bite.
Friends had pad thai (huge serving) and fried rice. Both were satisfied.
What I find believable was the value for dinner. At $9 for most mains, you just can't go wrong. After having experienced numerous terrible Thai places, I can give my two chopsticks up for Thai Spice.
Just realized this was my 100th review, woohoo! -

Dine-out Vancouver for $18! This place has lovely service and an awesome three-course meal. You can choose from Beef/Chicken Satay, Tom Yum Chicken (soup) or a salad for an appy; Pad Thai, Prawn Green Curry or Chicken Curry for an entree; and Vanilla Gelato or Banana in Cocunut Cream for dessert. I was so full by the end of the meal!
The restaurant is small but it replaces Star Anise, if you remember it. The space is cute but has an elegant quality with its linen tablecloths and amazing cuisine. All meals are garnished and presented with perfection. The staff are friendly and pleasant. It's only been open for 5 months so needs some exposure. Check this place out even if you're just ordering in.
Their drinks are well-priced at $7 for a martini, $6 for a beer and $6-$9 for a glass of wine. -

OK but expensive for quality and quantity.
