This was our 4th stop at Texas Roadhouse on a road trip. We had just came from Colorado, where we ate at the Aurora location twice and I was kind of gun shy of service after that, despite a great time in Bountiful Utah's location. We were going to be hitting this location around the same time, 9:30 and in Colorado, not so friendly when you show up late.

It was an easy location to get to from the highway, we walked right in and got a table. From the minute we opened the door, we knew this might be THE Texas Roadhouse poster child. The peanuts were piled so high in areas you could have used a snow shovel to get them.  Awesome. No uptight floor sweepers here, (read my Aurora TR review) and the hostess was so friendly, she also turned out to be our waitress. She made us feel very welcome.

The vibe in this place was what you'd want, it was a mix of people looking like they came from the local rodeo, which there was a PBR in town for the weekend and people driving through like us.

Our waitress stayed on top of drinks and the food came out quick. We both had rib eyes and potatoes. My potato was actually hot. I had not experienced that in the last three trips that week, in other locations. I didn't know what to do, I was so happy I had a good potato. It is the little things. The steak was cooked perfect to medium rare.

I cannot stress enough, this location stood out, above and beyond  any Texas Roadhouse we have ever been in, not just on this road trip. The staff was so nice, not the phony feeling stuff you sometimes get at some of their locations, but really nice. They let the peanut shells stay next to the table, and did not run to sweep them while we ate, with that a big thank you, Billings MT Roadhouse.

Visiting from Seattle, I had not been to a Texas Roadhouse since I used to live in the midwest many years ago. When I was in Billings for work, I decided to rekindle old memories and stuff my face with some steak and delicious cinnamon sugar butter on top of freshly baked rolls.

I must say this was by far the friendliest Texas Roadhouse I have ever been. The service was top notch and when I had mentioned to the hostess that this was the first time I had been to a Texas Roadhouse in over 8 years, that was passed along to the manager who came out with some side dish samples to try as a "welcome back" offering. Drinks were never close to empty and it was just the right amount of checking in to see if I needed anything or if the food was to my liking. Just amazing service that bumped this review from a four star to five.

(Of course, the food was good as well. I ordered a chopped steak covered in mushrooms and cheese - which was cooked just right and filled up that steak craving I was nursing. The green beans as a side choice was great, but that could be because it also included bacon - and well, bacon makes everything better! I also drank a patron margarita - which was smooth, but seemed to be more margarita mix than patron. Still, good food and drink all around.)

Visiting from California, fantastic steak.  Ate in Billings 3 nights, Walker's, Jake's, and Texas Roadhouse... needed to get my corn-fed beef / steak fix compared to the crap on the California market.

For the price & food, Texas Roadhouse wins hands-down, actually, every bit as good and about half the price of the other two, but it's definitely 2 different crowds & customer-markets.

It's much more casual but the food is over the top.  Really liked the waitress as well.

I usually come here first when I'm in Billings. It might be a cookie cutter steakhouse, but its good all the time.  Coming from Helena where the service is horrible, I have never had a problem here.  And the peanuts on the floor are part of the atmosphere.  Don't like, it don't go there.  Less people in line for me.  Actually, I have never waited in a line here, just be smart about when you go.  Their roadhouse tea used to be better but that's my only gripe.  Saves me from drinking and driving.

What a great place! I thought that this might be a little chain, faux bbq place, but this place was really fun! Every pretty gal in Billings must work here and they are all happy and positive and nice! I had ribs - and they were fall off the bone yummy - the drinks (vodka lemonade) could have been stronger, the lemonade could have been real (not colins mix), but the energy in this place was fabulous and fun - I'll definately go back again - you won't be disappointed coming here!

Steaks are fabulous. Service is amazing. Prices are cheap. I've eaten at Texas Roadhouse more times than I can count and each time I have been really happy and stuffed! It is always super crowded, but it just goes to show you that if you give the people what they want, they will come. There is usually a 10-20 minute wait for a table but it is so worth it plus they will give you free peanuts to eat and throw while you wait. :-) (They DO have call ahead seating)

One thing you can usually count on is that Texas Roadhouse is consistent all over the US.  I have yet to find a bad Roadhouse.  The Billings, MT Roadhouse is no exception.

Good food and good, cold beer on tap. Beer was very good so I expect they clean their taps regularly. Catfish was delicious. Only complaint was that the portions were too big.

They don't take reservations so be prepared for a long wait in the parking lot to get a table. Besides one manager in his 20's, the rest of the staff consists of the billings high school cheer leading team. The Cliquish Brittney attitude just oozes from their pores. They are extremely rude, unprofessional and couldn't be bothered to care if you don't like it. The place is dirty as they let the people throw peanut shells on the floor which just hides the filth. The food is average like any chain steak house. The only thing decent is their margaritas. Save yourself the aggravation and go elsewhere.

It was everything I expect from a chain steakhouse. There is something comforting about going to a place and knowing that it will be the same whichever location you visit. I like throwing peanut shells on the floor while I'm waiting for a table, it just makes me happy for some reason. The food is tasty, but they overcooked my steak and the one that my friend had, AND the one they brought him as a replacement. Again, the appeal is that you know what you will get when you go here, a meal that fills you up and is enjoyable.
