great teas, an incredibly friendly, knowledgeable staff, lovely set-up and displays and a great stock of tea accessories. tealish has everything going for it, in my personal opinion. this is my go-to place to buy an easy hostess gift and, obviously, to treat myself to some new teas.

A lovely little shop on Queen West and my current pick for tea while I'm in the area. While there's an extensive scented tea wall, they have a smaller wall of traditional teas - which is what I'm looking for when I go for my tea fix.
The shop is bright and airy with pale accents of green, pinks, and blues. Large tins line shelves on the wall, a look that is popular with the current modern tea-houses.
The actual tea room where they brew your take-away is in the back of the shop, tucked away and quiet.
I grabbed a cup of the Jasmine Dragon Tears and am happy with the quality of the leaves. Look forward to future visits! -

All of the tea shops in this city certainly are overwhelming...do I have to resmell every flavour again, or are they basically the same? Can I get a tea to go, or is it just loose? Do you have snacks?
To start, this tea shop is very busy! It's located on a bustling strip of Queen West, which is convenient but a bit slow. Like most tea shops, they have a good selection of tea cups, mugs, pots, and filters. They also have little shot glass samples of the tea around the store to let you smell. They have a little cafe in the back where they make the hot teas, tea lattes, and iced teas. There are also a few tables and chairs back there if you want to stay. You have to line up at the front of the store for a cup of tea first though. They also sell cookies - which looked pretty good.
I was in the mood for peppermint chocolate rooibos, but they were out, so I settled for double chocolate rooibos - it was NOT very good. I think I was hoping it'd taste more like a double chocolate donut... it didn't. I did manage to buy a tin of the peppermint chocolate to take home, which was very good (they redeemed themselves there). They also have a roasted almond tea with beet root that looks/smells exactly like Forever Nuts at David's, if you're into that. -

Himalayan Saffron White Tea unfortunately cannot be noted as Tealish-ious. For some reason, any flavours of White Tea will at the end taste like plain White Tea. I didn't get any of the scent from Rose Petals, Cardamom nor Saffron.
My Medium serving was prepared at their interior counter and served without the Tea filling still inside the cup. Other places will give you the Tea filling inside a Teabag so you can withdraw it to your tastes. I'm not sure how that would help White Teas, probably not much at all but that's just something I noticed was different from one or two other Tea shops.
I liked how the Tea Store was sectioned off with the Tea Shop. The seating area was kind of hidden from the front of the store if you happen to sit behind the wall. The Tea Store itself had less tempting Tea Pots and accessories than other shops I go to but the wall of Teas is just as complete.
The setup is similar to DavidsTea or Teaopia where no pre-set sniffing material is available. If two or more sets of customers are there occupying the staff, there will be a bit of wait time while you stand there sniffing your own stink instead of the Teas.
No more White Tea for me unless a miraculous flavour becomes available. Anyone had any must-have White Teas lately?Listed in: T

I really enjoy their 'Lady Grey' - & as others have mentioned: 'Toasty Almond'.
It can be hit & miss depending on how crowded it is inside but you can peruse the cute tea paraphernalia while you wait. I like that the employees have been honest with me about their own preferences & don't mind if I want to smell my 11th tea before making up my mind.
I find their prices to be slightly better than David's, but I'm sure it depends on your tea preferences & how much you're drinking/needing. -

My friend introduced me to Tealish as he is a tea fanatic and some of the best teas I've had have been at his house. The decor is simple and I love the carefully color-coded tea varieties that are available as you enter the store.
When we entered the store, there were 2 staff "working." They greeted us but didn't offer much help as we wandered around ourselves. When I walked up to the counter I asked for advice because I had wanted either the Genmai Hojicha or the Genmaicha - both green tea varieties. Under their advice I bought the Genmaicha. It is basically a blend of Japanese green tea with roasted brown rice bits & popcorn. I have had some pretty good green tea w/ brown rice bits in restaurants before. I made it as per the package instruction, 1 tsp of tea per 6-8oz cup. I usually prefer my tea to be stronger, but even after steeping for 3 minutes I found the tea to be too mellow for my liking. I will try it again and double the amount of tea that is suggested to see how it turns out. I would definitely come back here again to try other varieties of their tea.
One word of advice, browse their website and read the descriptions prior to going to the store, so that if they are busy, you are prepared with whatever questions you have. =)Listed in: Recovering Coffee-a-holic

I have to be honest, I could never quite understand the obsession people had with 'erbal tea. Surely brewing a pair of your brother's socks would result in the same taste sensation. Of course this way of thinking is far behind me since making friends with Sophi and taking up yoga.
For quite a while now, Sophi and I have been going to yoga classes and then afterwards popping into Tealish for a karma inducing cuppa chai. The staff are always so friendly, there are an incredible array of teas to choose from, and I love being able to smell as many as I can before deciding on what tea-mood I happen to be in. Above all, the teas really do make me feel relaxed and well, wholesome. I really like the new venue too on Queen Street. So, even though after 12 months I still haven't quite mastered the Downward Dog pose, after a cup from Tealish I really do feel full-on karma. -

Great Place to get loose tea (and cheaper than David's Tea from what I can tell). Not quite as many tea's as David's, but I'm more than happy with the selection.
My favs? The toasty almond (a shocking pink from the beet in it) is so deliriously delicious, I've been drinking it every day! Also coconut blossom is a lovely green tea with a touch of sweetness. Do try both! -

Tealish is such a cute little tea shop! And this place is so busy on a Sunday afternoon!!
If you are a first timer and you are overwhelmed by all these tea selections, don't come on weekends... because as Tealish is so popular here and you won't able to take your time and ask questions and smell all the tea you interested in without being rushed!
Love the gift selections here! For sure you will find something for your tea loving friends for X'mas or any special occasions!
Before going to the actual store, go to their excellent and informative website to do some research and narrow which tea you think you will interested that will save you a lot of hassle.
BTW, there is a little tea cafe at the back of the store if you do want to buy a cup of brewed tea...Listed in: Loose Leaf Teas!, A Day in Trinity-Niagara!

This is the best place to get your loose leaf tea in the city. They have a huge selection, a great staff and a lovely environment. Sniff away to your hearts content, or grab a cup to go.
They just moved to a new location on queen and it's so much nicer and way easier to find. They even have a nice little sitting area in the front of the store now over looking queen street.
For some reason though, when I bring people here they tend to be a little intimidated, I guess its because of the huge selection. I mean, where do you start?!?! Just calm down, ok? Ask for help. They really know their tea's there and can point you in the right direction.
If you like Green Tea, the Dragonwells Green Tea is the best Green I've ever had. I dare you to find a better one. -

I am a lover of all things tea - I love making it, I love drinking it and most of all, I love love love buying it! Tealish, located just off Queen West, is a great location for tea fanatics. They have a huge assortment of tea pots, tea strainers, cups and mugs. Plus, their selection of teas is phenomenal. I purchased some delicious fruity Japanese tea from them, but you should go in and ask to smell some of the different leaves (don't worry, this is how it's done). Some of the aromas are just out of this world and their selection will truly blow your mind.
Also, I highly recommend trying their iced teas to go. I had a fruity iced tea in the summer and it was such a tasty and refreshing way to cool off. Also, they don't load it with pounds of sugar like those Nestea ones, so you don't feel so full and heavy after you finish it.
For anyone who likes or loves tea, you just must visit Tealish! -

Recommended to Tealish over a year ago by Kat F. and I've been coming back regularly ever since.
It's always nice to visit and see that they have a couple of new teas among the plethora of regular options.
I don't find it all that expensive considering how long I can stretch a bag out (some of the 50 or 100g bags I have had for 2+ months). Perhaps the kitchenware is a tad on the expensive side- I guess there are a lot of designer items and such.
Friendly service and a decor that could be described as chic/minimal.
I probably have 10-15 different teas stocked at home at any given time but my favourites include: Lapsang Souchong, Genmaicha, Hojicha, and Peppermint. -

I usually just walk in there and window shop, but recently I got a tea obsession and decided to finally try their tea and expand on my stash. I walked around the shop for a bit, but no one offered to help, when clearly they were just chatting. I asked one of the workers if they could show me some of their popular tea, but the women told me that she was brewing tea at the back and would come back out asap. So, I waited and waited and waited until the other employee asked me if I needed any assistance. She was very helpful and knowledgeable about what they carry!
I'm in love with their large selection and the peppermint and black tea leaves I got! Will be back soon!

Very cool, little shop that (obviously) deals with everything to do with Tea. They sell everything from modern tea pots, to strainers, to tea accessories, to most importantly A WHOLE lot of different kinds of Tea!
I have to say to me anyways the prices seemed pretty expensive but they seemed like some very interesting teas. I'm broke as of now so I didn't get a chance to try any of their tea blends but I'll definitely be back to stock up on Tea once I'm out of the crap I'm drinking now! -

Tealish is delish!
You can't help but want to buy packets and packets of their unique blends of loose leaf tea. (The smallest pack you can get is 50 grams).
Canisters set out for smell-testing, a pot of tea brewed for taste-testing, this store is a joyride for the senses.
I almost buy a sample pack each time, tempting you with their decorative metal containers.
I can try to describe the various teas I so enjoy...
But really, there is so much to choose from and recommend, the best thing to do is to go in there and tell them your preferences.
They can hook you up to satisfy your tea fix. Tea junkie heaven.
I'm going to go make myself some Coconut Blossom Sencha right now! -

I'm an iced tea kinda girl.
But I don't want it pre-sweetened, which is an oddly difficult thing to find.
Tealish is my fav spot after an afternoon spent at Trinity Bellwoods with my doberman pinscher, Logan.
We always cruise back up this tiny little street, where I can get a fresh cup of iced tea - and I always get to try something new.
I always end up checking out (&wanting!) everything in the tiny little retail space - all sorts of fun tea accessories, even though I'm not a die-hard tea drinker, all of the adorable little tea pots, strainers & sample packs could easily convert me!
I"m guilty of having a few packs of there tea, tucked away in my cupboard at home. *May I add, the packaging is simply adorable!
I think what really comes me coming back, is that they let my dog in the little store! Yippee!
Add this little place to the list of dog friendly places in Toronto. -

Tealish is tea lover's best friend in Toronto. Located on Walnut Ave a little side street off the Queen West strip, Tealish can be tricky to find but it is well worth discovering. Inside one can find a plethora of teas ranging from the toasty Genmaichas, robust Oolongs and uniquely flavored tea blends such as my favourites- the dessert tasting Walnut Ave green or the aromatic and exotic patisserie. Staff are friendly and knowledgeble and will let you sniff around their expansive selection so you can get a "nose" for what you will enjoy. Also on offer in the store's cafe are a variety of tea-based drinks, tea latte's, iced teas or smoothies perfect refreshment for a hot day.
The teas are of excellent quality here, most everything I've tried so far has brewed a strong cup brimming with flavor, aroma and warmth. -

Another day, another visit to Tealish, another $30 spent. Ha! I stopped in today to replenish my stock of Fresh Air and chai tea and learned that Tealish now sells SAMPLER PACKS! So exciting!
They have a green tea, black tea and chai tea sampler pack. Each is $20 and comes with four types of tea. The part that I love most is that the mini bags come in a really beautiful rectangular tin. I had to suppress the urge to buy all three sampler packs and instead only grabbed the chai tea one. So cute!Listed in: List Of Things For New Yorkers…
