I'm surprised that I'm the first to review Tattoo Zoo. I've been getting tattooed by Gerry Kramer for seven years now, since I was the tender age of eighteen. I was originally drawn there because Gerry's wife, Sarah, is the cookbook author of some fame, and I wanted him to hire me for the summer as a receptionist. Lo and behold, he did.
I'm probably a little biased, but hopefully in a good way. Tattoo Zoo is obsessively clean and sterile. They refuse to tattoo anyone under the age of eighteen, even with parental consent, which I really agree with. Every artist at the shop is incredibly talented; each has his strengths, but there is no-one there who will do a poor job of anything.
Even though I don't live in Victoria anymore, I continue to make the long journey back just to get tattooed here. I haven't found a shop or an artist in Vancouver that I trust enough - even for impulse tattoos.Listed in: Victoria
