I went through a huge dim sum phase for a couple of years. Usually twice a week at places all over Calgary and outside of it. As my tastes grew, so did my expectations.
This is my all-time favorite dim sum place! The rice crepes are extra fresh and they have some amazing rice bowls. Even the egg tarts are top notch!
Price is very reasonable as well. I've been to places where you pay quite a bit more for "lesser" dim sum.
It can get fairly busy, but they have many seats, and I've never had to wait for a table, not even during Chinese New Year. -

I had a staff meeting with the folks at the Chinese Cultural Centre the other day and the luncheon location was of course in their local restaurant just downstairs. We had one of the private rooms so it was fantastic I felt we were getting VIP dim sum.
When you are with Chinese people it is such an added bonus because they always order the best. At one point there was a lot of yelling from our table to the people pushing the food carts and I wasn't sure if there was some type of emergency in the building with all the raised voices but I soon realised they just wanted to order me egg tarts. I couldn't stop laughing.
We had great crunchy egg noodles, a nice sweet and sour chicken, some pork ribs, great pork and shrimp dumplings. There was a sour soup and pork buns and of course my favourite the egg tarts. The service was great and this restaurant is quite spacious with many, many rooms, all which were filled that day.
I didn't pay of course for the food but I believe that their special is 2.99 a dim sum plate. All in all it was delicious.
