What an experience. The food is as good as their customer service! The owner is currently doing everything from cooking to managing the restaurant. This guy is not your typical "shawarma cook", he is more like a chef. Chef Ali puts a lot of care and effort to everything he makes. He said he didn't want to hire a cook yet, because he wants to train someone properly so the quality is not compromised.
The shawarmas are amazing and ofcourse the potatos with garlic are great (he even has a spicy garlic sauce for those who like some kick). He said they will also be doing meat and cheese pies soon. The nice thing about their menu is that they also have other options than shawarmas. He has philly cheesesteaks, fajita subs, and a number of other things. In addition to their great food, they also have FREE WI-FI!!! So i can lounge around with my laptop.
They are going to start delivery very soon, which is great, because the only other Shawarma place I know that delivers is further down Rideau and that seems to be it. He also does catering, which is awesome!
The biggest factor for me to write this was definitely the Chef, Ali. He is a really good person who actually cares about his customers and shows it by remembering names and faces and making sure everything is good. He already has a lot of students from Ottawa U frequenting and some DND staff as well. Just like me, they come back for the customer service and the amazing shawarmas!
The food is great and the management is too...that should sum up everything! -

I have had this place and Shwarma Palace. This place is better and cheaper. Their garlic sauce is better and service is more attentive and more made to your requests. It may be a smaller place, but I highly recommend this establishment over Shwarma Palace.
