I'm in Toronto. A friend in Burnaby was at wits end and needed a serious, serious pick-me-up. I didn't want to go the FTD route. Prices are always high and you don't get a lot of flower for your bread. I fired up trusty old Yelp to look for a flower shop local to my friend.
Tala florist seems to have reviews on both ends of the spectrum. I decided to err on Cat D's reccy. I'll take the word of an experienced Yelper over 1 review drive-bys.
Anyway, the dozen roses rang in $60 with delivery. Quite acceptable. FTD starts at $75 for roses. They got her name wrong on the card. I did find there was a bit of a communications problem. Then again, I do mumble and trying to order flowers at work I gotta play all cool and quiet. I don't want to appear to be some kind of pussy to my male coworkers. You know?
Anyway, they came at the appointed time, delivered without a problem, or tracking mud around.
All 'n' all, quite pleased. -

I walked in to buy a flower bouquet for my Dr. I originally wanted to buy one from Save on Foods but the person works there was on a break so i drove to this florist and purchased a bouquet.
I told them that i am looking for $20-30 bouquet. (which is reasonable enough to pay for a decent sized bouquet i believe).
lady who was working there gave me a dirty look... i really didn't like that... :(
over all i got decent looking bouquet so not much more to complain about but...
since i have a wedding coming up for myself and my sister's... i am always open to talk to new florists these days but definitley i won't recommend here.
service is totally guaranteed by the way how they served me today.
Not recommend at all.
I am not kinda person who writes reviews but yes i really wanted to let everyone know how this place is like so i ended up signing up to leave this review. that bad their service was. -

Phenomenal florist. They do several weddings per weekend and they were able to squeeze us in. I have known them to rush between several weddings in one day - only possible as they are very very organized. Their staff is friendly and helpful. The owner, Hassan, promised he would 'put his heart into our wedding' and he totally delivered. I am not one to be impressed easily by flowers but I was SO impressed and all our guests were as well.They did our wedding on November 26th, 2011 and everyone who saw the floral work was just stunned at how beautiful everything was. My parents couldn't believe how elegant and tasteful it all looked. They are a premier florist so their work is NOT cheap, yet they worked within our tight budget and made our wedding completely unforgettable. From the ceremony at our church, to the ballroom at the Marriott, and our bridal entourage pieces - he took our breath away with the designs and everything down to the smallest boutonniere was made with so much care. He was also the most fun wedding vendor to work with due to his charm, talent, and knowledge. I live in Richmond and Tala is in Burnaby, but I would not go anywhere else, and I would highly, highly recommend. Yes, he really does do about 300 weddings a year, and each time I came by to see him he had regulars popping in and out to pick up something and chat for awhile. It is obvious his clientele is very loyal. I cannot thank Tala Florist enough for making our Big Day so beautiful. I am so glad I spent the extra money because they are absolutely top-notch! Because they are so busy, my advice is be very organized when you go to see him, make sure you bring photos of your ideas, ensure you confirm with him, and you won't be disappointed.

STAY AWAY from him! This man can talk for an hour and lie about himself! He claims he had 300 weddings every year . yet my friend called 1 week before her wedding on July he was completely free!!! He seems nice & friendly and promise you anything you like to hear. I was a maid of honor this summer. He PROMISED to use orchid for everything yet don't go over budget . Well, centrepieces ended up being white roses! also, my friend got a giant bill afterward! to give you an example , he was supposed to design a bouquet of white orchids for her for$200. In the end she got charged over $400 for it!
