I ate here tonight for the first time.  Upon arriving at Taj, I noticed the front display window for the restaurant to be very indian in nature, which was no surprise since it is an indian restaurant.  However upon entering the establishment it was more like a sports bar, which was not what I expected at all judging by the front display.  They had a few beers on tap, of which I ordered an Alexander Kieth's India Pale Ale "seemed fitting".  Nobody else was in the restaurant, it was approx 4pm on a Saturday, so we had our choice of seating and chose a booth.  The beer arrived quickly and the menu was pretty simple, no descriptions, just basic names of indian dishes.  I ordered the Chicken Curry and my father, whom I went with, ordered the Beef Korma.  We also ordered an appetizer of onion bhaji and naan bread for the side.  In my opinion the food was absolutely delicious.  The naan bread seemed an odd squishy texture but maybe it is always like that, I am not an expert by any means.  My father did not enjoy anything so much but I knew that going in.  He is not a very adventurous eater at 72 years old.  He just likes his Canadian food.  A word of warning though, the food is rather spicy.  So if you don't care for spicy food than this place is not for you.  I gave it 4 stars based on the deliciousness of the food mostly.  I would have given five stars had the atmosphere been better in the place.  We were the only ones eating, and there was no music or anything at all playing.  They did have a couple of flat screen TVs on with no sound.  Yay!!  In my opinion, the restaurant is conflicted in it's nature, it doesn't know whether to be an indian restaurant or a sports bar, but regardless, the food is excellent if you enjoy spicy indian food.

Taj opened up about six months ago in a rather unfortunate location.  It is sort of hidden on Jalna and Meg, near Exeter Rd.  I  decided to try it out, and I am glad I did!  I ordered Buttered Chicken and samosas (potato).  Aside from samosas, I am pretty novice when it comes to Indian dishes.  The samosas had good flavor and came with a tamarind sauce.  This sauce was watery (not in taste), and I prefer a sauce with a bit of texture....nonetheless, they were good.  The butter chicken was a little on the spicy side, but I didn't mind.  The flavor was really good...aromatic and delightful!!  Basmati rice was cooked to perfection.  I will be going back very soon to try out some different dishes.
