Yvette is the peace of mind that any loving dog owner needs for their little four legged furballs. I literally tripped over her one day while she was walking a pug and being a pug owner I immediately had to say hello. Upon meeting my little tank Fritz she immediately starting co-ordinating so that the two of them could have organized play dates. Since then Fritz and Norman have become regular playmates and best buds. Being a pug owner, and all the little issues and problems that go along with that you really need someone who understands the breed and Yvette has become what we now know as the pug queen. My schedule is anything but normal and she is always easy to co-ordinate with and gets a genuine satisfaction out of "pooping" them out on a good long walk. Definitely the most amazing and knowledgeable dog walker I know. Respectful of the 6 dog limit on walks and a true gem in the KIng West neighbourhood.

Yvette is the best dog walker, cat sitter, and source of knowledge about all things pet related. She has taken care of my pug Norman since he was a baby. First she came for puppy visits and then one hour walks through the neigbourhood. She only services a small area and she travels on foot, which means you always get prompt, reliable service and you know your dog is actually getting walked instead of driven around town in the back of a car. She happily acommodates special requests, such as altering a walk time so you can make your vet appointment. She will also make sure your dog is dressed appropriately for the weather and manages to wiggle my dog into his boots and coat in the winter.
Yvette has also helped link me with pet resources such as doggy obedience classes, a dog trainer, advice on specific foods and nutrition. Yvette has not only boarded my dog while I have been on vacation but she also takes care of my cats. I know my dog is well loved by the enthusiatic way he greets her and when I go to pick him up after a vacation he never wants to come home!
Yvette is great about keeping in touch and is always only a quick phone call or email away if you have any questions. One of the best features of her service is her expectation that all the dogs on her walk behave. I know that the obedience I have worked on with my dog is reinforced on his daily walks.
After hearing so many horror stories in our of leash park I am thrilled that we have Yvette as our dog walker/cat sitter. I agree with the previous reviewer that my only concern is that she will become too popular if others find out about her! -

I was hesitant to write this review, lest Tail Blazers falls the way of my esthetician - they get so much business they don't have time for me anymore :(
But really, this is a secret I just can't keep any longer. Tail Blazers is the BEST dog service I have ever encountered, bar none. The dog park gossip put me onto Yvette at Tail Blazers almost a year ago, and I haven't looked back since.
Yvette came to our house to meet us, our dog, see our space, and learn about his behaviour, personality and needs. From there, she did a few exercises with him in obedience to see where he would fit in her walk groups.
She has the incredible power to make any dog feel at ease...a special gift since my little guy can definitely be a little skittish. On his first walk she sent me numerous pictures right to my inbox, and left a very detailed explanation on how it went. Phew! Its always hard to trust someone new with your pet, and Yvette is nothing but professional.
I have also seen her in action around the neighbourhood, and it is amazing the control she has over the dogs. Its not a free-for-all, and the dogs are all expected to behave when they are with her...which is great for reinforcing behaviour, even when you're not at home!
If she is going away, she will work with you to place your dog with one of her trusted trainees, or find an alternative solution. And she provides WEEKS of notice in advance.
Also, she is really cool, funny and outgoing. Basically, the total package!Listed in: Spoil dat Canine!

Established in 2002
An animal lover since birth and a pet owner since the age of four, in 2002 I decided to leave the corporate world to pursue my passion: working with animals. My dog, Blazer, pointed me in the right direction.
Your pets are my business, and I take this responsibility very seriously. Through an apprenticeship program, I have also helped to train many pet-care hopefuls to run successful, safe and professional dog walking/petsitting businesses.
Meet the Business Owner: Yvette D.
Animals are my life; I have been a vegetarian for almost a decade, and do my part to support pet rescue organizations and animal rights advocacy groups for both domestic, farm and wild animals.
Dogs, cats (and all other animals) have been my passion even before I received my first canine companion as a birthday gift at the age of four. I currently live with my 13 year old Border Collie-Husky mix, Blazer, and 2 newly adopted rescued kittens.
