I've seen both Anthony Bourdain and Michael Smith on Foodnetwork do their stint in MOROCCO and I've got to say I'm jealous. My jealously calmed down a bit after visiting Tagine Moroccan but now it just means I know what I'm really missing out.
Drove up to the limited parking strip around 7:00pm and noticed it didn't have the OPEN sign light up, so again we walked straight inside and met with the staff probably owner that was super welcoming to share his culture and food with us. This place has good Moroccan decor that was perfect without being overwhelming.
Beef Tagine($11.95) with Artichoke Hearts, Peas, Carrots, Potatoes came from a BUBBLING unglazed Tagine. It smelled amazing and the Beef was very tender and the sauce was all sopped up with the accompanying bread.
Chicken Tagine($10.95) with Green Olives, Saffron, and Preserved Lemon was just as flavourful. The Preserved Lemon really brought a different flavour PROFILE to this Chicken dish. It came with 3 pieces of Thigh Dark Meat.
Lamb Coucous($12.95) with Caramelized Onions, Raisins and Chick Peas was also great. Tender Whole Lamb Shank that I could barely pry away from my father that doesn't usually do food outside of Asian. A HEALTHY portion of Coucous was fluffy and flavoured well with the other ingredients.
We also asked for Moroccan Mint Tea($3.50) which was dramatically served in front of us for the first pour. It was a pot that can serve 4 or more and was yummy as it was Green Tea, Mint, sweetened with a large dose of sugar. It didn't even realize it was Tea really, more like a dessert drink with an amazing AROMA of Mint. The pot was still super hot after awhile and its a pot that you can do the waterfall style pour.
I can't wait to come back again and if you want a quiet atmosphere with someone special then a mid-weeknight is PERFECT after they open at 5:00pm. Closed on Mondays.Listed in: 4+ ****Stars****, Middle East Scoops, African Continent

I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants something different. They decided to keep the menu simple but they excel at it. I especially love their Chicken Tagine. It reminds when I went to Morocco for my honeymoon. The wait time is worth it because the chef cools everything right after the meal is ordered.
