This is by far my favourite place in Vancouver to buy wonderfully blended loose leaf tea.
I always have a tin of garden party tea in my cupboard. This tea is a wonderful blend of fruit and floral blended with a black tea that is definitely a party in your mouth!
The service is always attentive and sincere, the ambiance of this store is so relaxing and zen like. The staff is extremely knowledgeable about the teas that are in the store and are great at making recommendations.
For the holidays I purchased the gingerbread tea. I am a huge fan of gingerbread lattes but I hate what coffee does to my system. This tea allowed to me have the great holiday flavour of gingerbread without the yuck created by Starbucks coffee. Gingerbread tea lattes have managed to keep me warm this holiday season. -

In the name of disclosure, my girlfriend used to work here and still has several great friend who work at the shop. But even if she had not worked there and I didn't know half the staff personally I would still give this place four stars. Why? Selection and service, the most important being the latter when you want to go in and sit down to enjoy a relaxing tea.
The staff would not be friends if they were not extremely friendly, helpful individuals. I have never seen them greet customers without a smile on their face and a friendly pick-up in their voices. And they are always accommodating (tea people are just as picky as coffee people).
And obviously they have a lot of tea. And earlier this year they introduced in-house baked goods which all taste fantastic. I was always quite happy when my girlfriend brought a scone home for me at the end of the day (they are very stringent about the freshness of the baked goods, so anything that might be stale after a day are not served past the day they are made).
So what keeps this place from getting five stars? It's the lack of support for people wanting to relax on their computers there. First off, the tables are a bit high, forcing you to rest your arms on the edge of the table in order to type. That becomes painful after a while. And this is coming from someone who is 6'6" tall, so I am not kidding when I say the tables a higher than average.
They also lack WiFi. So this means you can't just sit on your laptop or tablet leisurely browsing the Internet or catch up on emails while sitting in the shop. -

I've always been meaning to try this place since I'm always passing by, and last week I finally did.
So I'm a big fan of just drinking tea in general so I like to look for a good tea drinking atmosphere. The staff at T were super friendly and helpful, and not only do they take pride in their tea selection but also in their handcrafted pastries. I tried a pot of their Shanghai Rose black tea (lychee & rose) while my friend had a raspberry scone and, later, some of their Earl Grey ganache cake to go.
The bright room and small seating areas make for great conversation and catching up over a yummy pot of tea. The scone was alright; it had a good consistency and was chock full of nuts and berries, but nothing standout special. I've yet to hear back on how his ganache to-go turned out. The Shanghai Rose was delicious - no complaints over flavour. Though, I thought the price was a bit steep (pun intended!) for what amounted to 2 cups of tea. Still, I ended up picking up a package of the loose Shanghai Rose (I'm a sucker for lychee/rose combos) and intend on returning to soak up some more tea goodness.Listed in: T

I don't get here often enough but it is a great place to either sit and enjoy a prepared tea or browse their fairly extensive loose leaf collection for steeping on your own terms.
That could be a t-shirt statement: I Steep on My Own Terms. Period.
T is elegant, staffed with knowledgable and friendly staff and boasts some delicious tea concoctions. I love "Old Blue Eyes" and "Russian Caravan". The latter is a smoky blend that at first smells wrong for a tea but is oh so right with either milk and honey OR a sprinkle of salt and a dab of butter. Yes, salt and butter in your tea. It's amazing. -

I love tea....like a lot. I used to live a couple blocks away from this place and their ads were so witty (one of my favorites: "Free Pot! (in huge letters)....free tea pot that is (in smaller letters)).
Besides their clever advertising, they have an amazing selection of tea. I went a couple times and have never been disappointed with the tea I purchased. This place has all your loose leaf tea and accessories you need for brewing a mean cup of tea and looking cool while doing it. -

I love tea. My roommate and I have a whole shelf in the kitchen devoted to tea. So I'm kind of surprised it took me this long to go to T, the lovely little tea shop 5 minutes away from my apartment.
I finally popped in after being sick for a while and making a significant dent in my tea collection. As soon as we walked in, the staff person offered us a sample of vanilla earl grey tea -- heaven in a glass. She asked if we needed any help, as we were staring at the giant wall of teas, but I knew I wanted a peppermint tea so she pointed us in the right direction and went off to help other customers. It's always nice when staff are willing and able to offer expert help, but know when they should just leave you alone.
I bought the Organic Peppermint Tea, and have already brewed about 7 pots of it. Delicious tea.
Their pastries looked really good too, especially the pecan pie square thing, but I didn't try any. Apparently they are made by one of the staff members there!
Definitely going to have to go back and get that vanilla earl grey. Oh man. -

Very friendly and helpful staff. Decent selection of teas. Tasty drinks and fresh baked goods.
Only negative is that the tea is very pricy, approaching $20 for 100 grams in many cases. More expensive than other tea shops I've frequented. -

This place has the coolest selection of teas. From grseen to black to herbal and more. You name it - they got it. My favorite tea is Emperors Jasmine - it's a white tea with hints of jasmine. They also have a great selection of cast iron tea pots. These tea pots range from $80 - $180, but if you have the money, they're worth it. They keep your tea warm for ages, although you should be drinking tea minutes after its steeped, but still, its good to know.
The staff here is super knowledgeable about tea, and are willing to help you with any questions that you may have.
Keep in mind, that all of these teas are loose leaf, but they also sell tea bags that you can put it in if you don't own a diffuser. -

Ok, I've walked by this place multiple times not knowing that you could actually sit down and drink tea here or that it has fresh pastries made in house.
Once you walk in, you get a free sample - today was a raspberry iced tea. The wall is covered with all different kinds of teas and you can get sample sizes of what you want to try.
I got a mixture of roibos: vanilla and tangerine which tasted like a creamsicle :) Perfect for a summer day. Alright...so here comes the best part...and it's not about the tea.
COME HERE FOR THE PASTRIES!!!! Wow...I had this chocolate, pecan scone and it tasted like it was just made an hour ago...I checked and indeed it was made in the morning. It's a hit or miss for me with scones...most scones are too hard for my taste, but this one had the perfect texture. Also tried some of the pecan tart and that was also so good.
I'll be bold and say...these are the best pastries I've had in Vancouver that I didn't have to pay an arm and a leg for!
So try the pastries and lemme know what you think :) I think I found a gem in Vancouver!! -

I walked by this place a number of times, and envied the people inside with their small kettles of tea. It looks so cute and cozy in there!
So last week I finally went in. They had a sample of tea ready at the counter. It was some kind of white jasmine tea. Nice- not as overwhelming as green tea can sometimes be (for me).
My sister and I ended up with the lemon mango tango. Fun, right? It was very fruity and the aroma was wonderful. I think I'd like to brew this sometime instead of lighting candles.
It's a great place to go for a moment on zen in your crazy life. -

They put the white tipped darjeeling back on the in-house menu but now charge $4.50 for it instead of $3.50. On the plus side, at least it's available again! To put it in perspective though, iced tea at David's Tea (4th and Yew) is $2.50. The cost is much higher at T but the quality is somewhat better. How much, you decide.
Tea to buy and take home is priced comparable to other tea shops. They do samples of anything you want which is an awesome feature because you get to taste test before you buy.
Their "latteas" are still delicious make me all warm and fuzzy inside (for some strange reason).
There was something wrong with one of the desserts I ordered but the T staff remedied that with a generous offer of a tea sampler pack. I thought that was excellent customer service. Things like that really matter to me and I'm overjoyed when businesses show that they value their customers. I've gone back since another time and saw there was something wrong again with a dessert (though I didn't get it). If I could make one suggestion, it would be to be more careful with the desserts, especially when you plate them to display for all to see...
T is a great place. Though some of the decisions made by the owners seem to be disappointing, you can see that the T staff are quite genuine and care what customers think. They even support loyalty programs that owners aren't so keen on adopting (for some reason!)
Though there is no wifi, it's nice and quiet and is a great place to get work done. -

I am a huge fun of that store. I have been there many times and never been disappointed. They have a great selection of tea. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the tea they are caring. The good thing that they offer you a sample of tea so you can really challenge your taste buds.

My new favorite tea place! Amazing tea at very reasonable prices. Variety of beautiful pastries to accompany your tea or enjoy alone. Cute little trinkets and stylish decor. They also sell baking grade lavender! I've been looking for this everywhere! The staff here are seriously awesome, very knowledgable and personable. Also, they have real tea ceremonies in their small tatami room with a Japanese tea master who bring in fresh baked treats. How utterly cool is that?

I ran out of the cold and rain into this bright and cheery store. I sipped on the free cup of hot peppermint chocolate tea (offered to me by one of the smiley staff) while I browsed. The displays were were clean and signs easy to read. I found exactly what I was looking for and even purchased some additional accessories. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful, giving me tips on what accessories worked best for which teas.
I love how one side of the store has cozy seats where I could sit, drink tea and relax before going back out to brave the rain. -

All of the tea and tea accessories make this little shop a tea lover's dream come true. They carry a range of colourful ceramic and cast iron tea pots, different sized tea balls and infusers, as well as tea cosys and any number of different types of teas. The teas themselves are packaged in lovely little boxes that make for great gifts. If you are looking for something new for yourself or a gift for someone else, the friendly staff here will definitely have plenty of advice and answers to all of your tea-related questions. And, the best part of this place is that the staff will let you sample their teas before you commit. You can also sit in the café section and sip a warm cup of tea in the store itself.
